I am proud to be an American Soldier.
The Coast Guard is legit and they do a lot to keep our country safe. It’s a small group but they are pretty epic!
Kiersten C I’m sorry but that’s all lies. Besides the coast guard is not even part of the US military
Christian Tamer you’re a fucking moron
Christian Tamer I went to basic. Processed through MEPS with all the other branches. It’s a military branch. Obeys the laws of the UCMJ. Only difference is they are with the Department of Homeland Security instead of Department of Defense.
Christian Tamer you didn’t even watch the fucking video did you twat?
Sakura tell em again🤣
It's insane to see DI's outside of training is good to know that you're normal 😂
Eli A DI is in the marines , the coast guard is CC’s and the army is drill sargent
My group of friends and I are currently serving in each branch. Out of all of us, our CG buddy is the toughest and the most respected. Big props to Coasties, not a lot of love but no one sees what they’re capable of
Love your vids btw! Always looking forward to a new video
Lol
Doc Rides lmao
Lmaoo
Jr Manuel Tapia lmfao
He’s not kidding us coasties fuck shit up
In our company, we had people from Army, AF, Marines, and even Navy. They all said they thought the USCG was the toughest because they play more on your mind and bombard you with education... Only about half of us made it through without being reverted to the next company, and that next company was 2 weeks behind us. The next one was 3 weeks behind them. It was intense.
People can’t be making fun of the CG when it’s the 2nd toughest boot camp
"2nd toughest"
@B army is a joke, that was an honest crack up if you seriously thought depot was hard.
@B can I read did you even read your sentence it doesn't even make sense. Depot is not meant to be hard why the hell would you compare that to a boot camp. It's meant to skip the bullshit for prior enlisted yet you don't even appreciate that.
even if this statement was true, boot camp is 2 months, then they go ride on boats all day or whatever it is they do 😂
Caleb Whittington CG boot is more rigorous than Army infantry even at 8 weeks. Went through with multiple 11b and prior Marines.
1 year from today i left for basic and DS Ramirez was my drill sergeant.
I was in the Navy and when we were in the Gulf during Desert Storm I walked up top deck to Officers Call and there were Coast Guard Cutters all around our ship...... I was amazed how those small ships were able to get into the gulf.... The Coast Guard is very relevant, they conducted VBSS (Visit Board Search and Seizure) missions on ships to assist our teams searching the Iraqi ships. Their VBSS (Law Enforcement) teams are bad ass!!!!!!
Funny to see the coast guard had more intense boot camp than the army
Joel Torres You prior army?
@@nicholasward6364 nope but i know several who have repeated this as facts
Talking from lack of knowledge is just noise.
@@nicholasward6364 no Marines Corps. Coast guard boot camp is very similar to ours.
Here we go. ANOTHER turd commenting from “I heard it from my boys.” Friggin’ twat. 🙄
Thank you so much I appreciate you reacting to that and getting my message and answering it you're one of a kind keep it going you're doing a great job and thank you for your service
Thereaper thank you for your support!
Lol they are not irrelevant, you don't know what the Coast Guard does or the mission? Why is that because your ignorant and only know your branch. If the coast guard stop doing international maritime law enforcement (commerce of cargo vessel delivering over 30 trillion dollars worth of goods to the port), transportation and logistic of every license for every ship, life saving rescue mission including towing navy vessel when there boats dont work, international drug enforcement, sex trafficking enforcement, migrant intridiction, vessel and cargo vessel/tanker inspection, enforcement of international trade tariffs (collecting taxes from international cargo vessels/tankers, port security. If the Coast Guard were to disappear the other branches would be in an logistic over load, not to mention every sailor is trained in firefighting, emergency medical responding (EMT), PISTOL/RIFLE/ somtimes shot gun training including anti aircraft defense computer system, and other big artillery on international security cutter that patrol internationally on the high seas (yes they do goto latin America/Asia/Europe. Also they break ice sheets in the North pole and south pole so that 30 trillion dollar a year commerce could move to deliver cargo/oil to keep America's stores and fuel running. More over they maintain aids to navigation you know traffic light and commercial shipping lanes internationally. I forgot to mention air traffic controlling. Coast Guard was the FIRST NAVY and was created before America had a Navy etc, lol. Yeah now I wish the Coast Guard did stop running and let the other branches do it they would get so over work with logistic they would fold and the Coast Guard does its job with 30,000 the size of the New York police force and because of this every sailor in any rating does waaaay more than just having 100s of different rates/specialization like they do in the Navy. The Coast Guards Job is every day JOB/CAREER while every branch is waiting for a war that hasn't happen yet, and last time check the Coast Guard was in every major war America Has Had lol You can tell I am in the Coast Guard. I also know people in the in the navy/marines/army that went into the Coast Guard all swearing they were true sea sailor, yet when they went on a Coast Guard ship they immediately started getting sea sick and threw up, why is that? Because the Navy Ships have hydraulic stabilizers where they dont feel any waves, but on the Coast Guard Ships they are no hydraulic stabilizer...we feel the waves when we go into storms of 15-30 waves trying to rescue people and do our jobs.. You wanna know somthing irrelevant as well. All the other military branches ASVAB SCORE TO GET IN IS BELOW 40, but the Coast Guard is above 55. Coast lol maybe irrelevant but we sure as hell ain't STUPID!

The coast guard probably is “irrelevant” to other branches for certain reasons. A few being we are a life saving service. As opposed to taking lives. We prevent drugs from coming into the US. We do a lot of things that immediately effect the US. Such as saving a boater who’s lost at sea or a cruise ship who needs help or a major gas leak in the ocean. They do a lot, certainly don’t get enough credit from a lot of people. But a lot of people aren’t really educated on them and what they do!

The Coast guard actually landed on Omaha beach for D-Day
not quite. They piloted the landing craft. Cool. But they didn't actually land at the beach.
@@Izak213 what exactly do you consider "landing on the beach" if not that??!
@@Izak213 most of the Higgins craft that took Army and Marines into the beaches were piloted and commanded by Coastie. One of ours was even awarded the Medal of Honor and others the Navy Cross for saving 500 Marines in Guadalcanal. Some Coastie were imbedded with Marines to set up communications.
Company Commander is just the Coast Guard's term for drill sergeant. They are NCO's like you.
In the Navy, Recruit Division Commanders are their version of drill sergeants. They are also NCO's.

The Coast Guard has the second most difficult boot camp
The Air Force is the 1st most difficult. One time during Basic Training after having luncheon in the Aerospace Dinning Facility I had to carry my own tray up to the cleaning room. Try doing that! It was stressful. I retired 24 years later as a MSGT. Who would have thought!!

In 1983 I went to Army boot camp......got out in 1985.......joined the USCG Reserves in 2004 and had to go to a 2 week indoctrination at Cape May.....we were housed in barracks among the recruits.....USCG boot camp was no joke at that time and I was very impressed....I have heard people in other services saying their branch is the most selective etc.....USCG is the most selective and has the highest min. ASVAB score needed to get in....
The Coast Guard is physically second, mentally first, starting with the A.S.V.A.B.

There currently is one Boot Camp for the Coast Guard and its been that way since about 1980. Prior to that, if you lived east of the Mississippi River you went to Cape May and if you lived west of the river you went to Alameda, CA. Alameda is still designated a TRACEN (Training Center) because it is an A school for certain rates such as Yeoman (Pay and Personnel).

@6:57 we do that at our recruiting office it’s called OPAT. We do this before shipping out to BCT
I need to check if you did a part 2, this was about 1/2 way through the original. It would be great to see your reactions to the remaining video.
Lol they are not irrelevant, you don't know what the Coast Guard does or the mission? Why is that because your ignorant and only know your branch. Ohhh can tell she Drill Sargent also 💪🏾 😊
Y’all are funny as heck!!!!!
That first guy is Petty Officer Cioas (hopefully I am spelling that right) he was there when I was at USCG Boot most recently.
Raquel Rodriguez Cichosz* He was my lead cc so during the debrief we were asking him about the video haha
Did you graduate from charlie 198?
Petty officer E4 through E6. chiefs are E7 through E9 and company commanders are the same thing as a drill sgt the coast guard equivalent of a army company would be the battalion officer
You should totally make part 2 to this video. I’m actually in this video they don’t show us get beat at all it was a lot worse.
Haha what up bro, im on the vid for like 1 second when we had the canteens over our heads
I’m leaving for Coast Guard boot camp October 22nd, and I’d love find other fellow recruits who will be joining me at Cap May!
Madeline Watt I’ll be right behind you! I go back to MEPS October 27th to get taped one more time. I was a 23% BMI so I have a month to drop 1% which I will do. Good LUCK!!!
October 29, but I’m sure you can’t reply now. Good luck shipmate
As a retired merchant mariner,I love the Coast Guard. Was my carer post Army. Saw them do miracles on the Great lakes.Dealt with many M.S.O.'s during vessel inspection, think of this ,19 year old in COMMAND of a Rescue Craft. That is a major wow to me.

Hey girls! So I’m in the coast guard -- the red band on the hat means they are section commanders. And the petty officers in charge of the recruits are called company commanders. Typically E-5/E-6 plus chiefs (E-7).
But awesome video! Would love to see part two!

Cape May NJ is the only bootcamp for the coast guard then after u graduate you have to do a 4 months as a non rate but whatever jobs you qualify for from your asvab score your able to go to your command and try different jobs your interested. And coast guard is the smallest branch with around 40,000 and only around 300 rescue swimmers
If you are a swimmer this is cake walk. I learned to tread water at 12yo for 15 MINS!
Yeah "Drill instructors" in the Coast Guard are called Company Commanders
Ericka I did BCT/AIT Ft. Gordon 1981. AIT was a vacation compared to BCT. Almost like being in a operational unit.
I'm not even in the military yet(still getting I to shape). but I love your videos. 👍👍👍
Thank you! Good luck!

13 yr active duty coastie, and yes the only base we have for basic is Cape May NJ.
The levels at CG basic are:
Recruit
Co-Company Commander
Lead Company Commander
Section Commander
Battalion Commander (all are enlisted, none are officers)
The officers are higher up and usually don't pay too much mind to recruits

Neither was that mean when they were solo, it was when they’d get together and tag team was the worst lol
I agree. IMO they can just be mean (but mean with their words, while I was there) other than that all that screaming is not a biggie.
U ladies need to do some live videos.
Puddle Pirates go hard .
I’m surprised Army DIs can put together a coherent thought.
DS Ramirez was one of the DS in my basic and she is right that chow hall is calm compared to what I was used to I remember getting made to walk around the chow hall saying damn self what am I doing wrong
You two should react to a video of BUDS (Navy SEAL training).
What's up, former WTC Instructor/PSG here, great vid!
I can tread water all day and 100 meters is nothing. I've swam 2 miles before non-stop, yet in marine corps bootcamp i only got swim qual 3. Weird.
So they're not commanders instead of Drill Sargent we call the CC’s or Commany Commanders
Basic swim qualifications in the Navy Marine Corps Coast Guard because they all serve on USS aka United States Ships. The Marines have to pull up by and swimming with battle gear on
I wanna say that The Air Force video you did is sorta wrong. I swear they sensor how they act when there’s a camera in the room.
Aye that's fact, my MTI's did not play that shit. Hell brother flight got GI parties on the regular 😂😂😂😂
there boot camp is definitely no joke. I was in the Marine corps and will still give credit where credit is due. They pay there dues and do a great job. I for one am glad they are out there.

Go Army! Army pride!
It's not irrelevance, people are just ignorant to us. Long line of skilled sailors before me involved in every of our country's history to keep us safe home and abroad. We're a pretty small but badass branch. Also, "Company Commanders" are not literal Commanders, obviously, it's just a different title but equivalent to a DI.
Can you do a reaction video to Green Beret training. And sniper training
I’m like the 1000th person to say this, but please react to both male and female Marine Corps drill instructors
What separates them is you have to be comfortable in the water. The water is humbling.
Video wasn’t done you only watched like half of it should do a part 2 and react to the rest
I love all but the Army is AMAZING and well worth it getting back in again :) xoxo

Good use of cycle break. 😉
The red on the Smokey means Chief Petty Officer
Ayo, so the red bands on top of that chiefs campaign cover means that he is a section commander, and since the recruits were new, that means he is in charge of them for the first week until their permanent Company commanders pick them up at the end of the week “indoc weekend”. And yes the CCs aren’t actual commanders in rank, they are usually anywhere from E-5 to E-9. My recruit company graduated boot camp the week this was shot so we saw the camera guys a lot. But it’s all legit in that video, if anything it was dumbed down at times.

Hey Bernie you guys should do the reaction to the cg boot camp vids with the raft carries, obstacle courses and their crucible. Also it’s ranked as harder than the army.

moved from base to base called son of a puddle pirate with Navy hand-me-downs my father retired as CWO-3.. from the coast guard.... not irrelevant. GI Joe had a CG guy named Cutter. He had no weapons and drove a hovercraft, but damnit he bled Orange and Blue
It’s a mile and a half. In 12min and like 40 seconds. Not 14 min.
Cape May and one in California
Yes the first one is free but when you go back you pay for the hair cut...
Combat mos does conduct that form of PT at reception. Unsure of other mos do. Speaking from experience.
Have you guys done Air Force😂? If not, please do
Jersey in the house!
Company Commanders are the Drill Instructors for the Coast Guard.

Haha I graduated cg bootcamp 4-5 months ago and I have met all of these company commanders. Great people even tho they scary as fuck. When COVID hit they stopped bringing in companies and me and 7 other injured recruits ended up being the only recruits on the regiment. They started doing basicly motivation classes and sitting down with us and telling us stories. Even tho I made it to 04 and got injured they didn’t care. I was there a total of 04 months. 10 more weeks than I was supposed to. Coast guard bootcamp is way scarier than the video and in person.

For the complete 22:29 version search "what it takes to survive coast guard boot camp"
ARMY, NAVY, MARINES, and Air Force, are DoD.
Coast Guard, is DoT. Dept of Transportation.
Coast Guard does Drug Interdiction, Marine Rescue, and even regulates the U.S. Merchant Mariners.
My Able Body Seamen document was issued by the Coast Guard.
Not to be a stickler but we were transferred over to DHS after it’s creation post 9/11. It was DOT when I joined in 2000.
Coast Guard saves more lives on average than the branches. They have the 2nd worst basic training behind Marine Corps. They are extremely relevant to today's society, CG is extremely elite, you must have a higher standard to join than the rest of the branches. It's a good thing alot of people don't join, they need to stay elite
Never woulda thought they were drills
SeptimEmpirex why?
You guys missed the best part of the video which is the second part!
Only one place for basic training and it's Cape May.
A question have you two seen a RUclips video of Women Marine Drill Instructions?
There are a few male recruits that think Women Marine Drill Instructors are worse than Male Drill Instructors.
We had to do swimming in the US Army in Korea
