  • In this episode, Jake and Dan discuss a recent Bleacher Report article (link below) asking if Jim Harbaugh can "Quick-Fix" the Chargers and contend with the Kansas City Chiefs to win the AFC West title. What are realistic expectations of the AFC West? How does this new staff elevates the Chargers chances to dethrone the Chiefs and contend? What does a successful season looks like? Then they dive into schedules to determine if the Chargers should be viewed as AFC West Title contenders. Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, Jim Harbaugh, Justin Herbert, Jesse Minter, and more discussed.

I don’t think we’ll be title contenders THIS season but imo we gotta make it far enough into the playoffs to face the chiefs and keep them from making it to the Super Bowl. We can’t let them threepeat and the only way to stop them is in the divisional or conference (which I understand winning that would mean a trip to the Super Bowl and I don’t think that’s likely either this season) but we can’t trust Buffalo Miami or Baltimore to do the job it’s gotta be us. That would be my Super Bowl this season, shitting on KCs parade 😂

With shitty coaching all across the board and half of our roster injured with no running game chiefs barely escape us by 3 all these years. We are capable of beating the chiefs with better coaching. Remember except last year every time we play the chiefs we have 7 to 10 points lead especially in the second half, we just gotta a finish better.

I think we go 4-2 in the AFC W, 1-3 in the AFC N, 3-1 in the NFC S, Beat Titans, Beat Patriots, and Cardinals are a trap game, win or lose. (Falcons being another trap game in the south). I’m also okay with swapping one win between the West and North.
Being conservative, that’s a 10 win floor. I’ll say worst case 9 wins, best case 12 wins.

Lifelong Broncos fan here. Chargers finally have a competent coach for the first time since LT was running wild. They have a real QB and a good line. You can contend with Patty the crybaby and Taylor’s boyfriend just fine in those matchups and end up a wild card. My guess is bolts finish 2, broncos 3, raiders 4, and of course the ref’s favorite team the crybabies 1st again

You're not going to be talking like this when we go into the bye undefeated and 2 games up on KC, The upgrade in coaching staff is immense. Harbaugh has every coach on the same page, Staley's DC couldn't wait to get away from him. We have Trestman who's going to be a huge difference maker. He's a mad genius... and now he has Herbert to help design plays around. Minter will be a HC sooner than later, Roman is an underrated OC, Shane Day is back, Bowman, Hardwick... Bosa and Mack didn't take paycuts because they think we 'might' compete for second place. Superbowl should be the expectation this year

I’m so done with you guys tbh lmao. Half kidding, half serious. Please, don’t jump on the “I told you so!” Bandwagon when the Chargers have a chance to lead the division in week 14 vs the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. This team, is near complete. It’s been near complete for years. They just needed the coaching, and the staff. They have those two things now. The Chargers will finish with 12+ wins, and will definitely force the Chiefs to defend their title.

  • @dhaas4698

The problem of course is trying to say anything definitively about a team, any team, from year to year. It's all projection. Last year we were expecting a lot from Michael Davis and Trey Pipkins. Didn't work out so well. The run game was supposed to be better under a new offensive coordinator. I see people making predictions based on 2023 Chargers but they either ignore the Chargers that departed or ignore the Chargers that arrived. And people are ignoring the coaching factor.
Why were we so upset with Staley? Because he had one helluva roster and he crapped the bed. Consider the Chargers lost 10 games last year by one TD or less, 7 of those games by one field goal. How many of those games are W's with the Harbaugh regime? The Bolts have added a ton of coaching staff to help with coaching players up and helping to prevent injuries. Harbaugh has been a winner everywhere he has gone....quickly. Everyone wanted Hortiz to draft Nabors....who did we draft? Alt. This team has picked players in alignment with their philosophy. That is massive.
Will Disley isn't Gerald Everett. Gus isn't Ekeler. McKonckey isn't Allen. But these guys were picked by this coaching staff for a reason. This team is gonna run the ball despite losing Lindsley. They just are. And it's gonna be awesome.
We kept the special teams ace Darius Davis and the coach
We still got Bosa and Mack along with Tuli and Dupree
    We upgraded the LB's
We upgraded that O-Line big time
We upgraded and matched with the scheme the RB room. Ekeler was great for us, but not last year. Edwards, Dobbins, Vidal
We lost Keenan Allen but we got Ladd Mc and Chark. Williams isn't even a factor because we never could keep him healthy.
D-Line and DB's did not get any serious upgrades. I can see concern with that. However, this is where I wonder, just how good is Harbaugh's coaching staff, and just how bad was Staley?
I think we can roll the Raiders and the Broncos twice. Can't say we'll beat KC until we do it but we've never been closer. I expect this team in the playoffs next year.

As good as the Chiefs are, I don’t wanna give them too many Gimme wins in their schedule prediction. They I’m going to say that the Rams, Cowboys, Ravens, Browns, Bengals, Bills, Texans, and 49ers are not gimme wins. That gives a floor of 9 wins. If they win half of the ones that aren’t gimme, that’s 13 wins.
Worst case I see like 11..

  • @alanteague2799

Your entire show is about head coaches. The reason the Chiefs won it all last year is Andy Reed. He knew he could not ride the offense. And can the Chargers win the West?? I personally think they can. I think Jim Harbaugh would be the reason why. Hortiz is also in that conversation. It is not a quick fix. It is a style of playing NFL. football.. This team will win 12 games.

I think the raiders are all smoke and no fire. Pearce is Staley 2.0. They have below average qb’s behind a below average O-line. Who do they hire? The bears previous OC. Watch the bears O-line last season and convince the raiders won’t be a paper tiger.. Patrick graham has got their defense looking respectable but that’s only gonna win them games against bad teams
