Exactly. Jessie is posting these videos and acting as this character to teach people from making the same mistake. Learn from others' mistakes.
Start looking for that first job if you're 16 now. The earlier you start saving money, the better. Once you hit 18, apply for a credit card. It can be as simple as one provided by your bank. When you finally get approved for one, do NOT make purchases with it unless you know you could pay it off immediately with cash. The main issue with credit cards is that many people make charges for things they would not be able to pay outright at the point of sale in cash. Then, when the bill hits at the end of the month, they can't afford to pay it off, end up making the minimum payment, and get a bunch of interest tacked on.
As long as you only make purchases with a credit card that you know for certain you could pay off right then and there with cash from your checking account, you'll be safe. Over time, you'll build up a credit score, and won't have to resort to gaining permission from your parents to use their credit score. As you get older and more financially stable, you'll be safe to take out loan/mortgages, and most likely have to for a car/house/etc. But starting out at 18, you should take my advice.
