I've been with Tmobile for 17 yrs. In 2012 I had purchased a home in Delaware near Rehoboth Beach which I had until 2015 before moving back to NY. Not only was the service horrible for this tourist beach area but Tmobile threatened to drop me as a customer as I my phone was roaming when it occasionally tapped into AT&T towers. They had absolutely no Tmobile stores in the Sussex area of Delaware which was about one third of the State because their service was nonexistant there. It was the standing joke when you ventured into an AT&T store when you were asked if you currently had Tmobile service before you even said a word. LOL..DONT BELIEVE THIS GUY...I PAY MORE FOR BETTER SERVICE WITH VERIZON..WHEN WE GO TO PA....SERVICE IS CRAPPY..then I noticed more Verizon stores in PA..happy with the great coverage with Verizon..
Thanks for the video! I left AT&T several years ago. They were horrendous. In the beginning my bill was under $100 for one line then it shot over $100. I became eligible for an AARP discount. I went into the store and had them apply the discount. Two months later my fees went up the amount I saved. Also, the international roaming is a rip off. For 10 days in Europe I had to pay a full month. I dropped them and went to sprint. My coverage is fine and International roaming was pay as you go. A week for unlimited everything was $15. Now I'm hearing nightmares of sprint customers getting T-Mobile SIM cards that don't work well.
We plan on switching from Verizon to T-Mobil when our new Iphone 13 Pro arrive. We will get the Magenta Plus plan for 2 lines. I was waiting for you to mention the 55+ discount level. We are over 55 and looking forward to that discount. Travel Plans are also important to us .
I have a quick question about the priority. Is it per line or per account? For example my plan has 3 lines, so does each line has 50GB priority? or 50GB apply to all three lines?
Currently switching from Metro 2GB $30 a month to Mint for $15/month for 4GB it's just not close. I don't use much data because I am either home or use the WiFi where I am at. People paying for unlimited should look at what they are using and can they use WiFi. The data I use is listening to the radio on the road because I like what I like to listen to and like the convenience of not having to constantly change radio stations. Traffic with the GPS is also convenient too. These differences can be your entire phone bill. Or for example one person uses unlimited data they can have it and everyone else doesn't need to pay to have it.
i have TMOBILE for a decade now, this year gonna go to 11 years & loving it ..no tax no fee , str8 up one price & i have Unlimited from the Get go .. F others, specially that rip off Verizon!! Love their 5G service since last year got the 5G phone , WORKS GREAT here in Bayarea Cali ..no issues whatsoever for many many years👌✌👍
verizon has almost no 5g network ,,,is the fastest but they are building it from the ground up. It's going to take years to catch up to att and tmobile . lol ...take verizon out of the equation ...
FANTASTIC INFO! However about 2 months after this video was posted…they changed “Magenta Plus” to “Magenta MAX”. Pricing didn’t change at all, but Magenta MAX now includes 40GB of LTE hotspot, NO DATA PRIORITIZATION, and 4K streaming! Even more value!
Switched to T-Mobile from Verizon when they started their Uncarrier marketing. I could tell immediately what Legere's strategy was. Slash prices, snag customers, dump all money into improving and expanding the network, and then raising prices once parity with Verizon was reached. I jumped ship to snag some of those early plans. Now I have 4 lines of unlimited talk/text/data with 14gb of high speed hotspot and unlimited slower speed hotspot after that with the same 50gb deprioritization rule as Magengta(+) plans. All for the flat price of $100/mo, taxes and fees included. $25/line. I'm also an over the road trucker and I have good service every night when I stop. That's also partly because I know where the good and bad reception is at. But watching T-Mobile light up new areas with new service over the last 5 years or so was great. I play World of Warcraft, PUBG and Xbox games every single night in my truck whether I'm parked at truck stop outside Chicago or at a rest area in the middle of Kansas. The service is better than my home internet service more often than not and has been for years now.
23:51 How did you calculate a $480/yr save for Mint & US? Magenta: $35/p/mo = $140/mo = $1680/yr. Mint & US: $30/mo = $360/yr. That's a $1320 save per year. I understood the math for Metro though. Metro: $30/p/mo = $120/mo = $1440/yr. That is indeed a $240 save per year. Otherwise, fantastic helpful and informative video! Thanks!
Thanks for the informative video. I'm a Sprint customer with a “vintage” iPhone and was wondering about moving my account to them. You said that it was easy. I have a credit on my account (paid multiple months by accident) do you know if that would transfer over?

I have Verizon and my supposed 5G is soooooo slow. I been considering switching to T-Mobile. They have very good coverage where I live. 90% of the people I know in my town have T-Mobile. I love the fact that you took us through the plans and the mobile app. I love that you took us through the mobile app. Great video.
After 3 Months of No Signal in my home, dropped calls and slow data, I change to Verizon and pay the same because I have multiple lines. Now I don't have that kind of problems.
I just switched to T-Mobile from AT&T and the price/features are better but the data performance is no where near as good as ATT. I got EXCELLENT reception in my office from ATT but I get occasional buffering with T-Mobile.
Staying where I am, Metro By T-Mobile. I was there when it was still called MetroPCS. I've even tried Boost Mobile and found that was an error. I'm paying the same thing I was paying at Boost Mobile and am getting more. For my $50 a month I get more data, better signal, no dropped calls, able to turn off Call Waiting, VoLTE and 5GB Hotspot not 3GB.
Can't wait to see when you do the Verizon in 2021 video. Trying to see if it's worth switching to them when I have FIOS as well. They offer a double discount on your FIOS and wireless bill if you combine both.
T-Mobile Simple choice in 2013 and T-Mobile One were the best to come out of a carrier. The 2013 plan for $70 had everything the Magenta Plus touts now. The T-Mobile One plan had an option to add unlimited Hotspot for only $25. T-Mobile didn't take long to kill that plan.
@@StetsonDoggett yes to this date I am upset I didn't add the unlimited full speed hotspot to my account. I have 6 lines with my family so even adding a hotspot to any one of the lines would have been great. The Binge On plans were great too. Even if you had limited hotspot data, if you had Binge On in your account your hotspot devices would not use up your hotspot data bucket if they were using any of the Binge On apps. Say RUclips or Netflix for example.
@@Earl_Vs_Michael hahahaha yes I have that plan from 2013. My student discount is grandfathered in so I pay about $17ish for unlimited data. The Binge On/Music Freedom is just the cherry on top. 🤣😂🤣😂
I recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile and I’ve had no issues at all. I love T-Mobile Tuesday’s I’ve been getting 10 cent off gas every Tuesday since I signed on. Not to mention I’m in one of the states with the best 5G coverage, and lets not forget the price. The plan I have is the Magenta Max and I love the perks and services included. Coverage is good for me, but it does get spotty in some areas and buildings. However the service does not drop out if it does I switch over to WiFi. Now with rural coverage it gets very spotty I hear but to the rural places I’ve been my phone has had LTE coverage.
If the video is correct and you live in Longmont I don’t believe you would be connected to and N41 (2.5 Ghz) because Sprint and T-Mobile have not enabled it for the state of Colorado yet. when you were getting those speeds did you check what band you were connected to?
Why would I switch from VZW to a subpar carrier? I’ve already tried them and in the states I would go to, they are so bad in those states, the network wasn’t even useable. I will stick to the best.
I have T-Mobile and love it! It’s very reliable where I live. Personally my mother is over 55 so we get a discount on our phone bill. For 2 devices on the Magenta plan it comes out to $70, so we’re basically playing for one line and getting another free. We even get 5G on our iPhone 12s and where we live I get 5G most of the times.
@@dawn-blade I don’t know if you can get promotions, I usually purchase the devices from Apple. I’ve never actually asked if I could get a promotion on devices at T-Mobile.
You did make a mistake on T-Mobile’s magenta and magenta plus plan. They both include 5GB of LTE data in Canada and Mexico and then they move down to 256kbps.
That's fantastic! Also, if for some reason you needed a home internet solution out there, T-Mobile Home Internet may work well for you! (If you're in an eligible area).
Hey bro, thanks for doing the vid. I was a Verizon customer for over 10 years until they throttled the firefighters in cali over the summer fighting the fires, costing who knows what type of damage. I switched to T-Mobile 2 months ago when I picked up new OnePlus 7t on Craigslist for $200.. I got the single magenta plus plan.. I just the need that 1080..
I plan on getting an iPad Air. Is it cheaper to add that plan to Verizon monthly data . Or should I get Spectrum WiFi at home and just use WiFi to that iPad. I hope my question isn’t confusing
We have 2 lines on the T-Mobile with the Military plan. $80/mo for 2 lines, usage in Canada and Mexico (5GB LTE then slower unlimited) and 5GB hotspot. This includes Netflix and taxes/fees. I think it's a good deal. What do you think? By the way, your videos are EXTREMELY well done. Clearly you do a lot of homework and give amazing info. Thanks!
I think you have a great deal, Robbie! $40/line is a fantastic deal for a true unlimited plan, especially one that includes priority data, Netflix, and 5GB of hotspot.
Got to say I love your videos. Never thought I"d be so interested in learning more about mobile plans. I was with AT&T for 15 years (Cingular originally when I started in 6th grade), but you pushed me to get Mint Mobile. I enjoy the service so far and enjoy the savings. Thank you so much.
I had tmobile about 2 and a half years ago and about 3 or 4 years prior . I switched to Verizon because a new job had me in an area only verizon has service in. No other major carriers had service there. But that same job now has me in another area and now I'm thinking about getting the v60 for tmobile and trying it out. Coverage maps show good t mobile coverage though most of my job sites are always in the middle of nowhere . I am hoping the 66 and 71 bands that my old t mobile phones didn't have will make this worth it.
I read a lot of comments on the T-Mobile community site where people say they were scammed b/c they were promised a certain amount for a trade-in prmo (e.g. $500 for an iPhone 8 trade), submitted their phone in good working condition, only to be told a few months later that the trade value is only something like $50, and that's all they'll be getting (because of some made up excuse like supposed water in device (false), or other defect that wasn't there). My question is, do they always make good on the promise to give bill credits to make up the difference between the market trade value and the promised credit (in this example, it would be $450)? Or do they often try to scam you out of giving what they promised?
Stetson, I enjoyed the video, but I am an Android Samsung user. I am very concerned with the issues pertaining to MCM Client and T-Mobile. Are you familiar with the issues? If so, please share.
I've seen your videos and really appreciate the work you put into them. I think you made a mistake on Magenta and Magenta Plus Mex and Can roaming. Both include 5GB of high speed data, the unlimited slower data.
I have T Mobile for 2 years now. Got the over 55 deal and have 2 separate lines and only pay $30 per month (including taxes) I'm in NY in the suburbs and have no problems at all.We use out cell phones often with never a loss of speed. Don't know if we are grandfathered in as we never had a price increase. However i think T Mobile still offers this plan.
Although I have S21 Ultra 5G on T-Mobile I get 150 Mb/s on B71 indoors but, when I am out and about in my town of Snohomish, WA my Smartphone will roam on Sprint B41 at 200 to 300 Mb/s. T-Mobile hasn't merged the Sprint Network in my area.
My understanding is there are no differences. T-Mobile is basically just offering customers older than 55 years old a discount on the Magenta MAX plan.
I find it odd how heavily Verizon has been pushing UW, when most of their users won’t see it for another 3+ years, and the difference of DSS 5G over LTE isn’t appreciable. What are your thoughts on this?
UW is available in some of the most densely populated cities, which covers more than millions of people. They also offer 5G nationwide, which is still a step up and faster than the already blazing fast LTE service. UW band technology uses high band technology that’s travels at a shorter distance, however covers more ground area than any other carrier. I’ve personally had speeds higher than 750 Mbps... which is fast enough to fully download a series of Netflix in less than 20 seconds.
I have sadly suffered from deprioritization on the T-Mo network in suburban Chattanooga, TN using Mint Mobile lol. I got from 100Mbps down using 5G to 6Mbps using the same 5G network…
Just some “would be nice” comments: When comparing Verizon & ATT plans against the Magenta plan for customers in New York, taxes and fees on a 4 line plan are an additional $20/mo ballpark. That’s a $240 / year savings before factoring in the base price. It would also be nice to factor in line promotions at time of publishing. T-Mobile often has “Free 3rd Line” on Magenta Family Plans $140/mo No Tax,and Essentials $105/mo + Tax. T-Mobiles promotions on top of no taxes and fees, compared against Verizon and ATT rates WITH TAX , are drastically different numbers. Loving the video style by the way, super clean, giving all the realistic and relevant information on the difference in the cheaper options , like reduced speeds.
The T-Mobile Essentials plan adds up to almost $70 after the taxes and fees. It's basically a gimmick to push you into to spending an extra 3-5 bucks just to upgrade to Magenta.
The Essentials plan isn't worth it at all, in my opinion. Same priority as T-Mobile MVNOs from my testing, and more expensive. People should either upgrade to Magenta, go with T-Mobile Prepaid, or just grab an affordable plan from an MVNO.
For us existing Sprint customers with Sprint plans that want to sign up fully to T-Mobile plans due to the merger are finding out it's not that simple. I would like too because Sprint no longer offers deal specials like T-Mobile does in which I constantly get emails to update or upgrade my phone's. The reason I was told I can't sign up fully to T-Mobile is because one out of four of my lines is still under contract with Sprint for 16 months so and order to get out I have to pay that line off even though I have been with Sprint 16 years. So if I sign up another line for 24 months I will be locked in with Sprint for another two years even though Sprint won't be around. What I am trying to say here is this, if I keep on upgrading my lines I can never leave my Sprint plan?
Thoughts on Speedtalk? I might go with their 4 gig plan. 30% off MLK sale. Cheaper than the Mint 3 gig and it's still on TMO. I won't even use 1 gig, but it's nice to know it's there if needed.
Pre covid when your at South Station during rush hour waiting for your commuter rail you will notice the speed difference. With full LTE bar you can’t even load Instagram. Tmobile definitely deprioritized you. Just like everyone else. Since you lived in MA so you know where and what I am talking about :)
Hey, Do you have a video comparing performance and speed. I’ve had T-Mobile for years but the performance is not great. I do have a iphone 11pro max. I am planning on upgrading my phone to 5G. I’m not sure if I should wait to try 5G or change to Verizon.
I'm experiencing HEAVY throttling of my data speed, and I'm even on their prepaid plan. Data speed and service availability have dropped DRASTICALLY since the merge. Not sure why I'm still with Tmobile rn...
It's not worth it unless you get the grandfathered tmobile One plus plan which I have and it's actual HD streaming not limited to 6mbps on magenta plus that needs to change since it's postpaid priority and price
As someone that has the grandfathered plan, I agree the new plans are not as good. That being said, they are still better than what Verizon has to offer in my humble opinion. Although AT&T has the best premium plan to beat at the moment.
@@StetsonDoggett yeah pretty much everything in video streaming gets more than 6mbps besides GeForce Now a cloud game streaming service and I usually would watch in 1080P sometimes 1440P if the network has some headroom
It's totally worth the $104 a month. Last month I used 1.5 terabytes of data using Comcast Peacock streaming service. So far this month I have used 997 gigabytes streaming video.
How about my internet was messing up since June. I called numerous times, brought a new phone only to find out it's the towers. It's the end of August phone and internet finally working. This sucks and information may have been stolen.

I brought my Verizon iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad Pro 2020 to T-Mobile and I love the service, 5G everywhere lol
What if I want IPhone and I don't want to pay the whole thing
Would you mind doing Googe FI review?
I got the Magenta Military I love T-Mobile haven’t had any issues with them 🤙🏾
We plan on switching from Verizon to T-Mobil when our new Iphone 13 Pro arrive. We will get the Magenta Plus plan for 2 lines.
I was waiting for you to mention the 55+ discount level. We are over 55 and looking forward to that discount.
Travel Plans are also important to us .
Honestly you should redo this one again because of the new Magenta plans, LOL.
I have a quick question about the priority. Is it per line or per account? For example my plan has 3 lines, so does each line has 50GB priority? or 50GB apply to all three lines?
Thanks for your reviews, they are always so thorough and well researched, appreciate it.👍🏽
Glad you like them! 😃
Planning on moving to MintMobile because of this T-mobile breakdown 😁
Thanks bro , overall usa internet service can l trust for t-mobile ? Or which one is the best you think 🤔
I like how you still love and use Mint..
Problem is, the signal is spotty here in western North Carolina. I've already tried it. Don't care about price, I want a good connection.
Yeah,I can recommend to you Me Tony he can help you out with resolving your issues, contact him over his mail *teemiiles@gmail•com* as soon as you receive this, please don't waste your time and later on regret.
The credit? If it is a credit given to you from sprint then when you go over to tmobile it would be lost
Thanks, Shy! I'm glad you found the video helpful.
Don't do it T Mobile suck
I hope that you feature First Responder, 55 rate plans and Military plan. We now offer $70 for 2 lines in essentials 55+
Does t mobile still have the music unlimited feature:... that will work for me
Staying where I am, Metro By T-Mobile.
Tried Boost Mobile aswell... straight up rip off
Can't wait to see when you do the Verizon in 2021 video. Trying to see if it's worth switching to them when I have FIOS as well. They offer a double discount on your FIOS and wireless bill if you combine both.
I'm jealous.of you and plan to get FiOS as soon as I get the chance haha
@Kaiser24 so seems like such a small difference in distance that I'm surprised they would not do it or give you the option to pay to have it done
Switch! Seriously, you won’t regret it.
Oh man, those are great plans! Too bad they have been discontinued.
Still have Simple Choice as it has music freedom that doesn’t count against data. However, I pay $20 for unlimited 4G data.
@@Earl_Vs_Michael hahahaha yes I have that plan from 2013. My student discount is grandfathered in so I pay about $17ish for unlimited data. The Binge On/Music Freedom is just the cherry on top. 🤣😂🤣😂
I was SO close to switching to AT&T Elite from T-Mobile, but the included taxes and fees just keep getting me...
T-Mobile is just such a good deal compared to AT&T and Verizon! WAY better billing system and user experience.
If you work basically anywhere or sign up for AARP you get elite for the price of extra
Your content is consistently excellent, thanks so much, Stetson!
Thank you for doing the research, I may switch to T-Mobile today because of your information.
Did you switch ? If so how has your experience been this past month ?

What is your actual bill and plan? Do you have "Magenta Unlimited 55" which is $70 for 2 lines? What about promotions, can you do those?
@@dawn-blade yeah that’s the plan we have
@@dawn-blade I don’t know if you can get promotions, I usually purchase the devices from Apple. I’ve never actually asked if I could get a promotion on devices at T-Mobile.
I have the T-Mobile military plan. Pay $80 for two lines when it’s normally $120. Get all the same benefits
fantastic video, Stetson. Well done and thank you for the video you shared with us
You are welcome, Jamie.
You did make a mistake on T-Mobile’s magenta and magenta plus plan. They both include 5GB of LTE data in Canada and Mexico and then they move down to 256kbps.
t-mobile magenta offers 5 gb of full speed LTE data then 2g speeds after 5 gb used in mexico and canada
Awesome work however you didn’t mention that the prices are with $5 autopay discount.
In the middle of a lake in northern Minnesota I get two bars of 5g and a download of 107 using Mint Mobil on Tmobil.
Definitely Switch but not to Tmobile, to MINT and pay 1/5 of the price for the same network.
Google Fi Review soon? Which network is the absolute best?
What do you think of plan announced today for TMobile called Magenta Max??
Great video, but a minor error at 9:39. TMobile Magenta offers 5GB of LTE in Mexico and Canada before falling back to 128kbps
Thanks for letting me know! I can’t believe I missed that.
@@StetsonDoggett No worries! Keep up the great content :)
I’m on T-Mobile magenta plus and I use hotspot to run Netflix hbo max and Disney plus and Hulu and not a problem running any of these services
I prefer Mint Mobile at $15.00 (4 Gb Data) per month. Uses T-Mobile network.
Annual payment required at $180.00 a year. Best deal I’ve found.
How's that working out for you ?
@@LemonySnicket-EUC: Perfect. Just getting ready to renew for another year.
Magenta. That's great knowing that it covers our area.
I have tmobiles magenta plan and I can easily stream at 1080p most of the time.
I want to try t mobile but I had mint mobile and it was horrible! Idk if there would be a difference going with the premium plan vs an mvno
Most likely not, maybe try out there network a year or so from now to see if it improved in your area
Besides pricing ... are there ANY differences between Magenta MAX 55+ vs. Magenta MAX ?
It makes sense in crowded areas like stadiums or games. It’s a big deal to me
Wing updated their plans with 100gb of lte
I have sadly suffered from deprioritization on the T-Mo network in suburban Chattanooga, TN using Mint Mobile lol. I got from 100Mbps down using 5G to 6Mbps using the same 5G network…
Love the computer screen and your mic everything looks like it's floating in the air.
Just some “would be nice” comments:
When comparing Verizon & ATT plans against the Magenta plan for customers in New York, taxes and fees on a 4 line plan are an additional $20/mo ballpark.
I do not see price reduction on the phone plans
When your phone off can you still text and get incoming calls right
The T-Mobile Essentials plan adds up to almost $70 after the taxes and fees.
Great I love this! Can you also show ATT & Verizon dashboard to 😄
Yes I agree that would be very helpful an informative to see them.
Pre covid when your at South Station during rush hour waiting for your commuter rail you will notice the speed difference. With full LTE bar you can’t even load Instagram. Tmobile definitely deprioritized you. Just like everyone else. Since you lived in MA so you know where and what I am talking about :)
0:17 I thought his Mic set-up is floating 🧐
Hey,
Do you have a video comparing performance and speed. I’ve had T-Mobile for years but the performance is not great. I do have a iphone 11pro max. I am planning on upgrading my phone to 5G. I’m not sure if I should wait to try 5G or change to Verizon.
Did sprint join t-mobile this year?
I gave T-Mobile a try and all I can say is it was inconsistent sometimes it worked great other times not so much
What about the lower end plans with unlimited texts and calls and WiFi as well..??
I'm experiencing HEAVY throttling of my data speed, and I'm even on their prepaid plan. Data speed and service availability have dropped DRASTICALLY since the merge. Not sure why I'm still with Tmobile rn...

It's not worth it unless you get the grandfathered tmobile One plus plan which I have and it's actual HD streaming not limited to 6mbps on magenta plus that needs to change since it's postpaid priority and price
ikr
As someone that has the grandfathered plan, I agree the new plans are not as good. That being said, they are still better than what Verizon has to offer in my humble opinion. Although AT&T has the best premium plan to beat at the moment.
I didn’t know T-Mobile One Plus wasn’t limited in video streaming quality! That’s an amazing perk.
@@StetsonDoggett yeah pretty much everything in video streaming gets more than 6mbps besides GeForce Now a cloud game streaming service and I usually would watch in 1080P sometimes 1440P if the network has some headroom
@@StetsonDoggett Yeah you can watch 4K or higher speeds permitting with the old One Plus plan.
It's totally worth the $104 a month. Last month I used 1.5 terabytes of data using Comcast Peacock streaming service. So far this month I have used 997 gigabytes streaming video.
You said each plan has “taxes+fees” can you explain what they are?
Is T-mobile still offering the Binge on service? That can be another huge plus for T-mobile.
How about my internet was messing up since June. I called numerous times, brought a new phone only to find out it's the towers. It's the end of August phone and internet finally working. This sucks and information may have been stolen.
The Tmobile site states that Magenta plus is a $50.00 monthly charge tax included. Is there a catch?
Magenta plus is $50 per line for 4 lines. it's 85 for just 1 line. taxes and fees are included on Magenta and Magenta plus.
