As someone who works at T-Mobile I can easily say Essentials is not worth it. It's 60+Tax, taxes are about $8. You can get Magenta for 70 including taxes. And the benefits you get between them is absolutely night and day. Literally essentials is only there for those who don't understand how the billing works and can't see past the $60
The essential plan is basically a regular plan with add-ons to that's not worth getting it comes with unlimited calling and text unlimited data but not really because most of tmobile plans come with 50GB of data once you use all that up you're going to get throttled down to 2g you cannot do anything with that slow speed. Also this plan only has SD streaming and also comes with mobile hotspot but it's in 3G so basically again you won't be able to do anything with that the only plan that T-Mobile has unlimited everything is magenta Max except the hotspot they gave you 40GB of high-speed data once the 40GB is used up you will get throttled down to three 3G for the hotspot everything else is really unlimited for this plan internet stays premium high speed with no throttling
@@andre26261095 you're correct except Essentials throttles if I remember over 24GB (I'll have to double check, they have raised it to 50), Magenta throttles over 100GB and Max is no throttling.
I've been a T-Mobile customer for 18 years and I'm on a legacy Simple Choice North America plan. From what I've heard Essentials is very close to the old legacy plans I normally pull 117 Mbps down/8.14 Mbps up. I plan on moving over to Essentials in order to save money I do not like over paying for bills. I will keep a n eye on the data speeds after I switch plans.
I have two lines on essentials and for me it’s fine for now. I tried switching to Magenta and was told by three different customer service reps that’s it’s the same speeds and I would be wasting my money if I upgraded. I then thought if it’s the same data speeds for Magenta, Max, and essentials, why would you have different plans if the more expensive ones aren’t better?
I’m glad to hear Essentials is working for you! A couple of thoughts that you may consider: first, yes, Essentials is a cheaper plan. If it’s working for you, it’s better to stay with it than pay more for Magenta. The four differences are that Magenta has 5GB of high-speed hotspot data, 100GB of premium data, 5GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico, and free international data. For some worth the upgrade, for others not necessary. Second, if Essentials is working for you, then it means Metro by T-Mobile or Mint Mobile would likely work for you, too. It may be worth considering other options to help reduce the cost of your cell phone bill. Third, the reps are mistaken. The premium data that Magenta and Magenta MAX include means they can have higher speeds than Essentials customers. This only applies when the network is busy though, so at crowded stadiums, concerts, airports, or other areas. MOST of the time, you probably won’t notice a difference, which may have been what the reps were alluding to. I personally use Mint Mobile and I’ve been fine with the speeds, so premium data doesn’t matter to me.
@@StetsonDoggett I agree with you 100%. I’m only staying with essentials because both my wife and I took advantage of their new phone deals. I had Metro by T-Mobile and US Mobile before and they both worked fine at my house. Once I pay off these phones we’ll probably go back to Metro by T Mobile especially since they have free Amazon and T Mobile Tuesday’s.
@@StetsonDoggett interesting. We are on The essential T-Mobile plan and just tried mint mobile yesterday and got less than half the speed side-by-side.
I've had the prepaid plan for years now. It went from a $100 to $80, then down to $50, and I believe it's still fluctuating. I've always had an inclination that family plans slow down speeds.
@@Kingcommaalex Magenta Max is where I always start. It's the best plan T-Mobile offers but I understand some people need the savings so I'll drop to Magenta. =) But also depends on the promotion...sometimes Max gets them the better deal. =)
It’s not exactly deprioritizing essentials customers. Premium data gets confusing if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Thus why they changed the “definition”. Priority data is essentially the same thing as data for prepaids. You have a certain amount of high speed data each month and when you use it all, it is slowed down. Just like Magenta gets 100GB of premium data. Magenta Max does not have premium data which means no slow downs. ATT and Verizon are the same way.
I like how he said constantly why you shouldn't have T-Mobile essentials but then at the last 10 seconds of the video says if you have a family then it would be worth having it... Most people have a family lol so that means it would be worth it for almost everyone therefore making this video close to pointless. Also I just ran a speed test with only using mobile data from T-Mobile with Having T-Mobile essentials as our plan and it reached 521 mbps not 11 lol
It's so ironic we can buy phones with 4K screens but yet all carriers on anything but the top plan throttles video playback to 480p. Thank goodness for home Wi-Fi.
It doesn't need premium data. But it would be nice if T-Mobile stopped advertising that it included premium data on their website, and if they lowered the price to $50/month for single-line users.
Essentials customers may notice speeds lower than other customers and further reduction if using >50GB/mo., due to data prioritization. ** Video typically streams on smartphone/tablet at DVD quality (480p);
Still worth it for me, I'm taking advantage of their current buy one iPhone 13 get the 2nd free, also I can trade my (family) two iPhones 11 even for 2 iphones 13 at the end of the day I'll be paying $25/month more what I would be paying for the phones alone, when the phones are paid in 24 months I'll downgrade it to the prepaid connect at $15/month per line.
All this sneaky shit is why I switched from T-Mobile because I had the essentials plan and I noticed that I was getting way slower speeds and I switch to their regular magenta plan and was charged $10 for switching over and the agent failed to tell me that that’s what would happen and even the Basic magenta plan was receiving the deprioritization so i dont think anybody gets premium data except if you’re paying for the most expensive plan
The Essentials Choice 55 plan is quite a good deal now. My grandmother is on it and I hopped on with her. She just signed up and got an iPhone 13 free. I brought my own iPhone 15. $60 a month for two lines but with taxes it adds about $5 per line. So $70 for two lines. Solid on post paid especially. So the senior discounts at least are quite good.
I work for Spectrum and it would be awesome if you could but our network to the test. We are supposed to be prioritized on their network and have the same speeds as regular Verizon customers.
Had spectrum mobile for a year (had Verizon before and after) and I can attest to the same speeds and coverage. However after the premium data allotment (20GB at the time) runs out, the internet is nearly unusable (avg of < 1 mbps)
@@FlexSZN23 that’s good to hear. I think for the average consumer we are a decent option. I personally use Mint, but I am competent enough to it myself.
That's why I never sell this plan to customers. Same with Base Essentials. Magenta is the way to go. An average person will blow through 20 GB. Essentials comes with 20GB high speed data, not 50.
Thank you for warning me about t-mobile essentials . I'm done with them and sprint. . And I believe those robo calls I'm receiving is in retailation to me wanting them out my life
TMO employee here. You are talking about a grandfathered version of the essentials plan, the newer plan does give you priority. Benefits/changes don’t carry over just because they have the same name, you have to switch to the newer plan by either calling customer service, going to a store or doing it in the app.
I wish you were right, but then how do you explain "Essentials customers may notice speeds lower than other customers and further reduction if using >50GB/mo., due to data prioritization." TMO tries to mislead everybody including their employees.
This dude is even lying about T-Mobile plan prices. In his video, he claims the price is $30/line for 4 lines. But on T-Mobile's website, it is $27/line for 4 lines. Bottom line .. he needs to stop using words like lying when he clearly doesn't have a good understanding of T-Mobiles plans. I remember when this dude lied about Magenta Max plan prices as well. Do not trust this guy.
@@CD-kd5em I hear you, there’s two types of instances where you’ll be slowed down on essentials. First being if you’re around too many Magenta or Magenta Max customers, second being if you happen to find yourself in a congested area. The 50GB covers you for congestion, but magenta customers will still have priority over you. Hope that helps
@@hintzod I wouldn’t go as far as to call him a liar, his info is mostly relative and useful for the avg consumer. But unfortunately his perspective is that of a consumer, T-Mobile will always answer your questions and elaborate on details. I do agree, their premium data definition is a bit contradicting of the fine print, surely they will fix that eventually
Please do a vid on the Tmo Home Internet. I had to return it because of deprioritization. Speeds during peak times was terrible. I was told by a corporate store employee the device is deprioritized below magenta max customers. I had a feeling $50/month for truly unlimited data was too good to be true.
@@NielsonLucas Really? How do you know this? TMHI speeds were terrible. At peak hours I couldn't do anything. Someone else said it was prioritized below even prepaid. QCI # was 8.
I have full signal at my house on essentials, as soon as I get on RUclips, it drops to 1 bar and doesn't load shit. I can't even make phone calls without it breaking up every few seconds.
What they should say is that you’re deprioritizing speed for a discord and will see lower speed with more usage. That way people understand the value of what they’re paying for.
Hi Stetson. I’m a Sprint/T-mobile customer. Sprint changed my plan and I didn’t know. That put me on their basic essentials plan where I’ll $130 something dollars as oppose to $89 plus tax. I’ve been back and forth on the phone with them several times. They telling me that I won’t be able to use my iPhone 7 and they gave me a $600 credit, so I got an iPhone 11 so I won’t have additional payments. I’m definitely not gonna be happy paying that amount. I also have a watch. I’m guessing you can’t have an watch series on a prepaid plan can you?
I have read that MVNOs only use the carriers towers. When in rural or fringe areas the non MVNOs will often use other carriers towers to get coverage but this comes at a higher business cost. If true this should be considered when comparing MVNOs with primary plans.
Thats crazy that T Mobile is trying to be misleading. There service sucks where I live at, gotta rock with AT&T. But at the moment I am rocking with Simple Mobile, only because I am currently doing business in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and Simple Mobile offers free international roaming to Latin Countries so I was able to port my number to a already unlimited family plan for an additional $25 and the service and internet speeds are great at around 50mbs most places I been. Ive seen as high as 100+ some places
I have metro by t-mobile and I can use 75 gigs to 100 gigs easily. Supposedly I am slowed down because of data de-prioritization yet I have no issue. I have the $60 unlimited plan and also have 5G access. I think a lot of it has to do with the area your living in and the time of day. I can stream 1080p as well.
Honestly essentials makes using an iPhone feel like we’re back in the early 2000s. The premium is already slow, once you run out of “fast” internet using my iPhone becomes a pain.
Another possible omission is that the 3rd line is free with TMO, i have 6 lines and i pay ~$130 a month....with Metro, that'll be $180 if I'm not mistaken.....
3:40 Essentials always deprioritized 3:49 T-Mobile prepaid better deal, has premium data 4:30 unlimited prepaid better deal for same Essentials price 4:41 Mint Mobile $30 plan better value for some users.
In was with Sprint for 2 years and did SIM card swap this year to T-Mobile and on the right top notification bar out says "T-mobile"... but they said that my number is still with the Sprint side 🤨 I was on the Sprint unlimited kick-start plan for 2 years so I'm guessing I'm still on it?
It sounds like your line was put on TNX (T-Mobile Network Experience). This allows lines on Sprint to use T-Mobile's network via a T-Mobile sim card, but leaves the account on the Sprint billing system.
What is the best plan for traveling I do a lot of driver for work far away an I need best covered an not slow data don’t mind payin a lot was thinking ab Verizon 80 dollar plan but not sure I have AT&T 75 plan but I lose a lot of service on the highway and is every slow

Question about the $30 mint mobile unlimited. If I port my phone into this plan. Will I be able to run my laptop tether connection? If I tether directly to my phone the dat a be part of the 35GB. Or will I only have the 5 GB hotspot In other words I'm trying to understand if tethering directly with a cable comes under 35 gigabytes or the 5 gigabytes in the mint mobile plan Thanks
Whats worse is how people will try Tmobile Test Drive (which i believe has prio data) like it and then when they wanna switch theyll get deprio’d and it will feel like a bait and switch Also i ironically got a Mint Mobile ad lmao
From my understanding you have semi priority data (same level as mvno) of 50gb but after that 50gb you are deprioritized further to tmhi levels. I haven't tested this but I believe it to be true.
Wait, what do you know about TMHI deprioritization? I can't get a straight answer from anyone. On all the vids I've watched nobody is talking about this! I was told by corporate store employee the gateway is deprioritized below magenta max customers. My DL speeds sure seemed way lower than that. Would love to hear what you know.
IMHO: other important factors play a toll on the Congestion/throttling down that is clear, the plan is always different each day, and well you must factor in Sprint as their CDMA 800-850 is still being used but retired according to Tmobile
Just going to say it. TMobile essentials sucks for $60 per month. The data is not all that fast. I had it for 4 months. This is what made me switch to red pocket then eventually to Visible. Since Legere left, tmobile has gone to crap. Thanks for this vid man. One of your vids helped me switch to Visible.
Prepaid is probably set up with true priority data because it’s easier for the account holder to just stop paying and switch if it’s always deprioritized than someone that’s financing the equipment and accessories
Quick Question: Do we get new deals on T-mobile on Black friday ? I am thinking of switching to T-mobile but i dont know I should do it now or wait till Black friday. ( I will be buying 4 lines + 4 new iphone 13 pro maxes )
I was told by one of the representative of T-Mobile that since I have the 50 GB per month deal if you can call it that I was on the bottom of the tower that way she said literally that if I wanted to experience a faster data service I will have to pay $85 upthis confirm what you just said
I'm on T-Mobile Essentials on a family plan. Currently we're paying around $24 per line due to a promotion which offered the upgrade for free from our legacy line with 2GB of data per line forever. At that, it's probably worth it. I do understand the deprioritization, but the 5G speeds seem to be fast enough for me (I get around 200-300mbps normally). It seems like the prioritization is only for low band or 4G LTE.
Is simple choice considered the same as the Essentials? I was switched out of my 10Gig per line simple choice plan which had which had some limited hotspot to a unlimited data simple choice plan for being a loyal customer. I was always suspicious why they would do that after being a customer for only about 2 years. This may have been the reason. Can you confirm please?
I think They still give higher speed on services like Netflix or RUclips even though speed test results show slow. It is called binge-on and music freedom under Essential plan. I mean you may see 12Mbps on speedtest but they may provide 30Mbps to stream 4K videos on RUclips.
Stetson, I'm in the older crowd and am on Magenta 55+. Do you do comparisons for the T-Mobile Magenta 55+ to others like consumer Cellular? You do a really great job analyzing phone plans. Thanks
@@johnledsanchez8045 We’ll, There are some differences. Does it have the upgrade for new phone to magenta max 55+ for only $10 more? Or does a person have to go to the Magenta max? Then it would be $22 difference. Is there any other gotchas between the two?
You midas well switch to magenta you get hotspot,Netflix, and you are prioritized. Essentials with taxes and fees would end up being around the same as magenta that has no taxes or fees
I have a fully paid off unlocked galaxy S22 ultra. Im paying $110 a month for T Mobils best 5G plan on only 1 line. They are only giving me 40gb of hotspot data. Havent had them for very long. Hoping the price comes down in a month or so. They have much better coverage plus 5G in the state of west virgina than Verizon.
Just like the 3 current base priced rate plans talked about in the video, there are currently 3 versions of the 55+ discount: essentials, magenta and magenta max/plus. Respectively, that's 1 line for $40 + tax or 2 for $55 + tax, 1 line for $50 flat or 2 for $70 flat, and 1 line for $65 flat or 2 for $90 flat. All of these prices are after the $5/line autopay discount.
I would think that US mobile even is better for families with the unlimited plan IMHO. $25 a month for 3 lines plus perks. Stetson how did you miss that?
Do you have to remember most people that have T-Mobile are financing a phone so you can’t tell them just a jump ship if they’re on the magenta plan because there’s other plans that are cheaper and better when they’re tied to a 24 months or even 30 months finance because that means they would have to pay off the phone in order to leave T-Mobile you have to remember that’s all you had to remember that were metro mint mobile you can’t finance Falls you have to go with the big carriers even if it sucks if you want to find finance a nice phone especially if you can’t afford to pay for up front so you have to remember that the great video either way
Same here with me! I have noticed way better service switching from T-Mobile to ATT. I even worked for T-mobile and loved it but whenever I left I wanted to find something better. Defiantly recommend ATT over T-mobile any day. Yeah its defiantly more pricey but its worth it to have good coverage!
So that is shifty, and the results are apparent, BUT: What I would like to see in the future is the test done on the same hardware. Different phones will operate on different bands with different reception and speeds. Like the long-range N71 band for 5G vs. the short-range bands of 5G.
All phones were the iPhone 12 model, except for that Galaxy S20 Plus. The S20 Plus has the same X55 modem, so hopefully the results are reasonably similar. I just ran out of iPhone 12s! 😅
Your test was done before magenta and essentials were updated, however you did show that they are deprioritized from the website, so the point is still the same. Lame of them to be sneaky like that.
Forget everything no one can beat Visible. Average Speed about 15-20mbps (which is best for all purpose) all the time, and 5G wherever available from Verizon. No 3G no 2G only LTE and up.
Visible is a great option. They use Verizon for coverage though, so in this video I wanted to mention similar plans that also use T-Mobile for coverage.
Picture this t mobile don't want customers to know that essentials is the prioritize so they just put that there just so they think they're getting people are getting premium data on essentials when they're actually being deep prioritized like the other MVNOs and those which includes Metro mint mobile and others Metro by T-Mobile says 35 but you're still de prioritized even before you go over 35 gigs and once you go over 35 gigs of Metro you're the prioritize further same with T-Mobile essentials so not to be rude to T-Mobile I think they should make an update to their website saying that essentials is de prioritized below other customers and magenta and magenta Max customers just so everyone is aware why essentials is de prioritized
This is why I don't trust any phone companies unless they're really being honest on what they're selling . He is exactly right and correct! I have been living with this 50G issues since first joining last June! I will be Totally done with Android and Google! I will be upgrading to Apple 13,but not the PRO though. What a tough Lesson Learned!! After 5 months!!!
Yo me and my family just switched to T-Mobile and we got the magenta plan and bro the internet is trash idk if it’s just me but I get 38 maybe 40 mbps and I can’t even watch a 1080 video without constant buffers even in the 5g UC is trash for me at least is there anything I can do to improve that
Yes. You can improve your video streaming experience. The problem is that you are in T-Mobile Magenta, and Magenta limits video quality to 480p. They do this by limiting the video streaming speed to 1.5Mbps (you can test this by running a speed test on Fast.com). So to watch 4K video, you have two options: 1) upgrade to Magenta MAX, which supports 4K video streaming, or 2) get a VPN. VPN’s work by hiding your network traffic from the carrier. So T-Mobile wouldn’t be able to tell if you were watching a video or just browsing on a website, and as a result you would get uncapped video streaming speeds and could stream your shows in 4K quality. I partner with ExpressVPN, so you can check them out at www.expressvpn.com/stetson to get 3 months free. However, please feel free to do your own research and find a VPN that works for you.
I have one plan T-mobile. Do you have a video that explain this plan compare to the other such essential, magenta, magenta max, or I should change the plan or not. Thank again. You fan 🙏
Awesome work. Great job on actually testing prioritization. Do note that Verizon Prepaid also just essentially killed their 5GB $25/month plan. Seems the Wireless carriers are trying to push us up and out of the low-end plans.
Can you do plans for ppl where money isn’t an option? But they have the best data fastest speeds? I pay 400 a month Verizon. They data only 50gb is that really best there is for 90 a month? I pay off all my devices so that’s just for data.
Stetson, how you 100% know that T-Mobile prepaid is still prioritized like magenta? I have T-Mobile prepaid and I can tell is not anymore prioritized bc I get slow down to certain times even it shows me 5G UC , maybe you should research it again….thx
If only all carriers could just offer data without slow downs even if they caped data speeds. ATAT had a plan years ago where you could not go over 3 Mbps but it was unlimited no matter what.
They not lying if it’s right there. Also premium data has a lot of permitters on it. Just like HDR advertising! But all carriers do it! None the less a great video!
Well I won't be using 50GB because I am always tapped into my WIFI or friend's wifi, and I watch videos and movies on my tablet and tv...TV..., this won't happen and I won't get T Mobile Essentials
Thank you very much for the info. I live in a rural tow. In Northern California and Verizon is the only thing that actually works there. T-Mobile is okay but I got this plan but I won’t be using anywhere near 50gb
Awesome! I was just thinking about T-Mobile/Essentials. Good thing I came back to Stetson. So, tell me ... I'm moving permanently to Portugal next month. What I'm interested is in reliable texting from/to US for 2-step factoring. That above anything else. Data not really important for me. (I'll have a Portugual plan for that). Ideas? Verizon? ATT? (I know they all play games, but which more above board.
I think you mean that the hotspot data is only unlimited at 3G speeds. Magenta adds 5GB of high-speed hotspot data, and Magenta MAX has 40GB. The smartphone data is full-speed on Essentials, and it fully supports 5G. Because it’s deprioritized, it may get slower speeds than the other plans anytime the network is busy, such as at crowded stadiums, sporting events, airports, or other areas with a lot of people.
Stetson, you are awesome dude. This is one of the BEST REVIEW VIDEOS I'VE EVER SEEN.... This is what a review video should be like, stating facts not personal opinions. I am now a subscriber. Kuddos man 👍
I’m on the highest plan and love it. Have premium speeds and I already knew about the data caps etc months ago. Magenta Max is amazing. I use a lot of data that is as I use my phone for business. Also I grew up when minutes were used for data and that is over 20 years ago. So I understand and am ok with slower data at times.
I switched from T-Mobile Essentials to T-Mobile Magenta after realizing that AFTER TAXES T-Mobile Essentials cost MORE than T-Mobile Magenta. Bloody rip off
Hey Haylee, it turns out from my testing the Essentials plan does not have 50GB of priority data. It is deprioritized and has the same priority level as Metro by T-Mobile, Mint Mobile, and other T-Mobile MVNOs.
So another words there’s going to be a class action lawsuit against T-Mobile oh boy oh boy somebody make two dollars on the lawsuit everybody except the lawyers they will get millions
I actually don’t know what phones you’re using, but on Essentials on a 5G iPhone I have tested 499Mbps download and 57.8Mbps speed respectfully. Though your video is informative, it’s misleading
I don't bother with lower plans with my usage I got to go with magenta Max I just like using my phone without a data cap a TMobile rep told I use more data more data 99 percent of all TMobile customers.
Props to this guy for doing the hard work and calling out networks with proof.

Any update on the speeds?
Funny how I just left t mobile because I could tell they were lying, and my data was slow as hell even though I wasn’t over my limit
Were you paying $100 for a single line or did you have other lines with it?
Company went to shit when John left. I have switched to att.
AT&T is headed to the top
I agree nothing new came out lately, when John was at TMobile. Like every 2 months something new came out

I'm on T-Mobile Essentials so I'd say this has been rather enlightening. I'm going to look into switching this month. Thank you
That’s why I never put customers on essentials. I do Magenta. It includes all the taxes and fees and has better data.
@@Crowski always put them on max, gotta get that fmrc up 😉
Verizon prepaid is great
@@Crowski is magenta really good? Or would you say pre-paid is better for the price?
You can use a private DNS app or VPN too bypass that too. At least if your on t mobile and Verizon. Not sure about at&t
Yes, that's true!
T-Mobile Essentials will never have premium data. It's a starter plan which is the cheapest.
It doesn't need premium data. But it would be nice if T-Mobile stopped advertising that it included premium data on their website, and if they lowered the price to $50/month for single-line users.
@@StetsonDoggett Yes sir, that's my thoughts exactly.
Essentials customers may notice speeds lower than other customers and further reduction if using >50GB/mo., due to data prioritization. ** Video typically streams on smartphone/tablet at DVD quality (480p);
Umm, I think 🤔 not. The facts speak for themselves.
T-Mobile Home Internet is in the same tier of service as Mobile Hotspot.
@@NielsonLucas Really? How do you know this? TMHI speeds were terrible. At peak hours I couldn't do anything. Someone else said it was prioritized below even prepaid. QCI # was 8.
This is something which can be filed as a complaint to your state department of justice, in whichever state you live in. Really.
I have full signal at my house on essentials, as soon as I get on RUclips, it drops to 1 bar and doesn't load shit. I can't even make phone calls without it breaking up every few seconds.
TMobile isn't a good option for you then
Same. I buffer on videos constantly
Yes, that's how it is. MVNOs don't roam, as a rule. There are exceptions, but rare.
Even Simple Mobile is a better option than T-Mobile Essentials!
We are on t-Mobile Essentials plan and tried mint mobile yesterday did a speed test side-by-side and Mint Mobile was less than half the speed.
Aren't these speed tests before they added prioritization to the essentials plan?
Another possible omission is that the 3rd line is free with TMO, i have 6 lines and i pay ~$130 a month....with Metro, that'll be $180 if I'm not mistaken.....
3:40 Essentials always deprioritized 3:49 T-Mobile prepaid better deal, has premium data 4:30 unlimited prepaid better deal for same Essentials price 4:41 Mint Mobile $30 plan better value for some users.
Except Tmobile never works when you go camping or inside buildings

If I tether directly to my phone the dat a be part of the 35GB.

I think now fcc and attorney general should check up on all these companies. .because their shady
Quick Question:
Do we get new deals on T-mobile on Black friday ?
It sounds like Essentials is actually a great plan for you! $24/line after tax is a great value. I’d stick with it :)
I pay 118 including taxes and fees per month for 4 lines on essential, what else I need?
I always stay connected on my Wi-Fi and barely use my phone when outside
I'm looking at Cricket or Metro from a Sprint Legacy plan. What's the best option/opinion?

Ah god. Last month I switched from Mint to Essentials mainly for higher priority. TMO got me. Wish I saw this video earlier.
You midas well switch to magenta you get hotspot,Netflix, and you are prioritized. Essentials with taxes and fees would end up being around the same as magenta that has no taxes or fees

Hoping the price comes down in a month or so. They have much better coverage plus 5G in the state of west virgina than Verizon.
Right now my only two options in my area of wv are T Mobil and ATT. Not sure witch one has the better service/coverage to price ratio for me.
How does this compare to the $55 seniors plan? I've had a lot of slow data speeds. I don't go over the 50 g.
The $55 plan for seniors is on Magenta, so you get premium data for your first 100GB of usage.
Do you have to remember most people that have T-Mobile are financing a phone so you can’t tell them just a jump ship if they’re on the magenta plan because there’s other plans that are cheaper and better when they’re tied to a 24 months or even 30 months finance because that means they would have to pay off the phone in order to leave T-Mobile you have to remember that’s all you had to remember that were metro mint mobile you can’t finance Falls you have to go with the big carriers even if it sucks if you want to find finance a nice phone especially if you can’t afford to pay for up front so you have to remember that the great video either way
Company is garbage now that John left, I moved to ATT and I get much better service now. T-mobile going downhill

Basing my interactions with this plan barely few encounter bad data service with this plan unless they hit 50GB mark. Honestly speaking.

Essentials is only unlimited 3G. That’s actually what we are told to tell customers not sure why the website tells that.
