Just came back to watch this again. Beautiful vehicle, and solid review. It's a small thing, but I wish they offered an all black roof rack instead of just the silver one on top of the car you reviewed. Nothing wrong with the one on there now, it looks fine, but paying up for the Black Optics, I wish the accessory was offered in black as well, I think it would look even better. I delayed my earlier purchase, and I'm still a bit torn whether to go for the Q8 or SQ8, but I'm leaning towards the SQ8 for among other reasons so I can also add the Sport Package that includes roll stabilization and the rear electronic slip differential. If I'm going for it I might as well go all the way. :-)
@@sonicrulez Sadly, I still haven't made my new car purchase. Still love the Q8 or SQ8 though, would love to get one of them. The supply chain delays and concern over being able to get all the features in a loaded Prestige have contributed to my having put of the purchase. These still top my list, however.
Amazing review What vehicle did you like better Velar sv or the sq8 I’m on the fence on what way I should go . I currently have a q8 looking for something with some more punch and sound . Thank you hope to hear your thoughts ! Cheers
I LOVE Audi for its subtleness, low profile, and interior ergonomics, quality, technology, and build. I would love this SQ8! The Q8s look so smooth in person. The Atlas looks similar but not as monstrous as a Q8.
Excellent review, really well put together and delivered 👍 deffo think the SQ8 is the way to go; cost v performance it’s is better value for money than the RS8.
Love this, but wish the infotainment screen position was higher up/swapped with the air vents. Also wish they kept the MMI knob to go along with the new touch screen.
The SQ8/RS Q8 are probably my favourite Audi SUVs~ Perfect size and perfect maount of power, and for me the SQ8 would be plenty powerful. I don't need an RS Q8 with the 591 HP, and the 500 HP that this car produces is enough for someone, and really most people.
I have a standard Q7 Prestige now with all those bells and whistles and will be upgrading to an SQ8, but only in Premium Plus. I do not feel that you need the options like the massaging seats and heads-up display. I rarely ever use them.
I am glad that you waited to review the SQ8 because I think this is the best one, it is a nicer-looking coup SUV but was lacking the performance of the BMW, MB, and Porshe but they finally did it right nice job on the review looks like you had fun with this one as always!!!!!!!

Excellent review. Very thorough. Well done. If the reviewer or maybe some of the posters might give me some insight into tire selection for this, I would really appreciate it. With the black optics package, this or the Q8 come with the 22's (285/40/22), but without the black optics package you can get the 21's (285/45/21). Black optics is strictly cosmetic, though it is beautiful. Here's the thing. I live in ski country, and though at 59 years I don't go "off roading" any longer, I do find myself from time to time on dirt roads to get to a camping or fishing spot, and I absolutely find myself on less well maintained secondary roads quite a bit to get to the ski areas, summer and winter. I do a lot of highway driving too. Most importantly, I need to be able to drive and get to the ski areas in the most severe winter snow and ice storm weather (those are the best ski days). I imagine the slightly thicker rubber 45 sidewall might on margin drive a little smoother on the rougher roads compared to the 40 sidewall. I'm not sure if the difference is even noticeable, however. If it is noticeable, that might be enough for me to forego the black optics and take the larger 45 sidewall tire. If not noticeable or negligible, then I'd likely get the thinner 40 sidewall tire. Since I would be getting the loaded Prestige with air suspension and such, maybe that makes the difference irrelevant, but there are always those bumps. Any input as to how relevant the difference might be between the two tire sizes, and in different circumstances, and which would be better to get? And maybe there are other pro's and con's of the two different tire sizes I haven't thought of, I'd welcome any and all input? though very sporty, this is still supposed to be an suv, and those thin 22's worry me some. Thank you.
I’ve been an Audi owner for the last 14 years and love them. Turning 65 soon and have a bad back. The air suspension is absolutely the way to go. Have a 2022 SQ8 on order and really looking forward to it.
The power numbers are plenty but it still seems kind of strange that they used two turbos and a mild hybrid to make 500hp when naturally aspirated V8’s out there are already close to 500hp without the added complications.
I would take this over a Lamborghini Urus any day, they are both owned by Volkswagen and made from the same base. The difference in performance and luxury is superficial and the value of this vehicle is incredible.
You know with a little software tune you might be able to get the same HP & TORQUE numbers as an URUS considering it’s the same engine and chassis platform
I would gladly buy this Audi SQ8 ~ It's not too big like the SQ7, so it would be the perfect size for someone like me, who doesn't like really big SUVs, and honestly, if you're looking for a Lamborghini Urus, but it's not actually an Urus, just get this :D It's not too crazy like the RS Q8, with its 591 HP and 800 Nm of torque, and really I think 500 HP and 770 Nm of torque is plenty powerful~ And the sound of that 4.0L V8 is amazing ~~~ I think for me, I prefer the sound of this version of the V8 without the fake sound that the Urus has, although the Urus still sounds great. Only disadvantage is fuel economy at 15 mpg (15.7 L/100 km) in the city and 21 mpg (11.2 L/100 km) on the highway, which is not great, but not terrible, but because of my conservative driving, I guess I could do a bit better :D

Acura needs to bring back the ZDX...the real O.G. of this segment.
Honestly, the ZDX was ahead of its time. Acura should definitely bring it back. Also, Infiniti should bring back the FX.
