It'll be like all Audi's like this similar to my Audi's that went from $60K to $6K in ten years and while great when they're , that's pretty much not common. You need to have 1. a solid Japanese luxury car as a backup because that'll be boring but bulletproof 2. a rather large bank account. Using the math I've done from all previous Audis if this costs $100,000 it means in ten years it'll cost $10,000 and where the cost to you during warranty will be next to zero while you make $1,000 car payments after the lease is done and traded in and winds up in someone's hands in ten years IF it's still even running that person will have to put approximately, and not even a made up number, around $1,000 on average per month (based on $12,000 yearly cost in repairs) to keep it running. So either way you're paying a grand a month long term regardless of where it is in its life PLUS the cost of a second car that will get used at least once a month while your Audi is at the stealership or a trusty third-party Audi repair shop. The final cost of owning a $100,000 Audi all told across owners after ten years can be over a million dollars, easily.
Imagine this: you have a wife and kids and she insists on something "practical". Both of you are loaded. But you still want a Lamborghini. So you compromise, and get the detuned Lamborghini (this is basically the Urus), and sell it to your wife as a "family car". Little does she know...
@@SomeLazyDr If you can afford this, your wife buys a very nice Genesis GV80 or a boringly reliable Lexus RX, and you drive something sporty. Couples who can afford this each have their own cars. OK, a few live in city highrises with one parking space. This is perfect for them.
Because the relative benefit of extra height and cargo capacity for most people outweighs the relative benefit of a lower center of gravity and lighter curb weight. There will still be some purists who insist on a low slung sports car but cars like an SQ8 can get you to 95% of that for most people in the market at this price point. These sort of SUVs are here to stay.
I'm glad my childhood memories filled with cool sedan and coupe, but nowadays everyone likes SUV for no reason. I'm a short guy, 165 cm, sitting higher like a truck is kinda terrified and getting in on SUV is kinda bothering. I wish sedan or coupe never gone :(
Makes no sense, but someone in marketing thought the word 'coupe' was cool, and since they weren't selling many real ones, might as well stick it on something else. I'm glad this one doesn't overdo the coupishness and wreck the back seat space.
I mean I eat and drink and live in my 2019 VW Tiguan. Ketchup gets spilled, crumbs fall off of my Chicken strips, salt falls off my fries and this stuff ends up on the seats, and carpet and shifter/console area. I think any car gets crumbs and smudges and streaks. I’m OCD so I have cleaning products in the car and I vacuum the car often and wipe her down. Micro fiber cloths are my best friend and a mild solution of Dawn dish soap & water in a spray bottle as well as ammonia free glass cleaner. Most people don’t take fuss over their interior to that degree. I’ve recently bought a cookie sheet to eat off of in my cars and it helps tremendously. The lack of reasonable storage in the front half of the car would annoy me a lot tho! I love storage and need storage. This Audi is a great looking ride! But @ $108,000 I probably won’t ever meet the cost of admission and pass on it and choose an Acura MDX and stay under $70k hopefully. Thanks for your work here Mark!
Dear Americans, if you could speak more than 0.8 languages you'd realise that coupe simply means to cut off. Which means the rear pillars get cut down for a sloping roof line. The number of doors is irrelevant. And if you want to be a pedantic smartass, coupes only have 2 seats. So most coupes aren't really coupes.

as a jeep guy i'll say this is a genius design in steering with the stabilizer and the rear toe in, this is the future of cars. even if that toe fails one day or sway bar, it will work as a normal car. impressive.
My mechanic called from his ski challet in Liechtenstein and wants you to please confirm the timing chain faces the firewall with the new 19-tensioner design upgraded to new recycled bamboo-fiber infused plastic design?
I can't get over how car manufacturers (and consumers by extent) think touch screen climate controls have a place on luxury cars (or any car for that matter). They aren't more expensive, they don't feel better, they don't look better. It's a cost saving measure yet people buy it as if it was shiny diamonds. It's one of the worst trends in automotive design.
@@CountCorax I just stated a fact. You can t avoid advanced computing devices on most modern high performance cars these days. Modern high performance car = high maintenance
Living in the midwest with a RWD sports cars means not only swapping tires, but also not being able to go to out when there's too much snow on the ground due to getting high centered. While sometimes that's acceptable, other times it's not. Also, with everyone else driving around a truck or large SUV, I can't see since I'm so low to the ground. I either have to wait until people clear out or nose too close to traffic to make a turn. After driving like that for 6 years, I'm starting to gravitate towards a sporty SUV as my daily car. I've already got a motorcycle for a more engaging ride and I'm not going to buy a vehicle for twice a month driving. Never thought I'd ever consider an SUV for my next vehicle, but this is what it's like to get old I guess.
Great review. Thanks so much. I do have a question that I am hoping this reviewer or any posters here might post an answer or further input on. I just watched both of his reviews, on the 2021 Q8 and 2021 SQ8. Both great. I am torn as to which to get. I like the better mpg of the Q8, but some of those additional features of the SQ8, in addition to the more powerful engine, are awfully appealing. Though I think some of the mechanical/electronic things he describes in this SQ8 are options available on the Q8. Here's my question: Which do you think would be better in ski country, mountain highways, but also backroads that may not be quite so well maintained, and most importantly, driving reliably during the winter time in bad snow storms (the best days to go skiing)? And why? He seemed to suggest the SQ8 might be better, but I'm not sure if the technical reasons he gave might also be available in the Q8. I do really like the smooth, quiet of the Q8, but the SQ8 does have its own Comfort mode. I will be doing a lot of long drives in the summer time as well. Going "off roading" is not a priority for me at 59 any longer, though knowing it can go onto dirt roads and such reasonably well to get me to a destination, say a campsite or fishing spot or out of the way Forteener or ski mountain, having some flexibility in that regard would be nice. Oh, and one other question. I can get the loaded Prestige Q8 with the larger sidewall 285/45/21 tires instead of the 285/40/22's if I forgo the purely cosmetic s-line and black optic packages, and I can get the same slightly larger sidewall tire with the Prestige SQ8 that does come with the cosmetic s-line package but not the cosmetic black optics package. Is there a noticeable difference and advantage for my kind of driving referenced above going with the larger sidewall 285/45/21 tires instead of the 285/40/22's, or is it so negligible that I should just go for the extra cosmetics, which do make a great looking car look even better, the black optics especially? Thanks for any input. And again, great reviews.
I thought I had posted on the Q8 review, but I don't see it there so I must have forgotten to click it thru. Oh well. But this post here for the SQ8 still applies, and I hope some will respond with their thoughts. Thanks.
$108k seems pretty ridiculous. I can’t stand that $100k is becoming a “normal” price tag now. That’s literally like $1500-2000/month as far as payments are concerned! That’s insane for a car/SUV like this. The one thing that is saving this car from people thinking the same as above, is that it has a twin-turbo V8...something that was almost non-existent.

I have the exact same touch screens in my A6. I really can’t complain. They look the part, the function exeptionally. Sure they get some finger print’s on them but some window cleaner spray on a soft towel and they are like new in 30 seconds. I like them more than the old school buttons and switches in my A3..
I can easily believe this. I still have the old interior on my A5 but I test drove the new A6 with the touch screens and immediately felt that after a week it'll be second nature.
That V8 though. Sounds so good.. German V8's always sound so mean like big American V8's.. I hate the all touch center stack of this car but the rest looks amazing for what it is.
Great technical review. These are very accommodating of a tune to get significantly more power while still being under the torque limit of the ZF trans which was originally designed for the TDI V8 version.
5:50 That paint shit detroys all potential for tasteful design sense. It is one of the great insanities that shows the true level of intelligence of humankind, kinda like a self-ridicule. Many minds are simply glossed over madness. And here I am with an insanely crudely set up tuned Corolla and it's got black AP Racing calipers.
Mark, two points - what about throttle response? Any lag? And you say if you keep for 3 years when the warranty is 4 yr/50K, so not sure what you mean regarding that
The amount of min-maxing in this car is insane, and that's just the stuff you were able to see and feel. This thing is going to be an absolute nightmare after the lease is up. Case in point - it already has a check engine light from the start-stop system and whatever bullshit Audi threw in on top of all that. No new car should ever throw a check engine light this quickly, for any reason.
The cut away on 12:03 feels kinda wonky to me... Not sure if the cut was wanted like this but if it indeed was desired to be like that, I think a zoom transition would've been a good choice.
I don't quite understand the check engine explanation at 10:45. How does a car with an automatic transmission stall? Or did the start stop system shut the engine down but the brakes didn't hold and it rolled back?
I didn't understand the sports SUV until a few months ago. Now I am completely into it. It's not about the fact that sport sedans exist and they can go faster. It's about wanting a sports SUV because they are way more badass. Like what villains drive in a car chase hahahaha.

@@colin-nekritz I see vanishingly few 10 year old luxury cars on the road.
It will break, and some schmuck will keep driving it with the suspension sagging.
At 2:17 the needle sweep on start up from a digital gauge cluster. Lmao.
Honestly, this is everything that's wrong with modern automobiles.
It's too much
Yes, waste of resources. On multiple levels.
@@markmiller3279 no you buy this
As always, great review (the best, IMHO). I do, however, prefer when you also have Jack's perspective and a friendly argument ensues.
I've been waiting for this weeks 2nd video yessss, good work as usual guys!
Why can't we have sport sedans and sportbacks to replace sports cars instead? The extra height will ALWAYS compromise the performance.
I LOVE the closing door with the camera attached and it looks at the Speedo. Keep that in the editing!
10:42 is what real luxury is all about. You won’t see it on a Lexus.
You mean its German lux! And no you won't find it in a Lexus 😆 😂 🤣 😅
hahaha
Maybe my vision is just bad but all I see on the gauge cluster is a Trac Off light
Lexus has nothing close in this segment.
@@babochee ?
I'm glad my childhood memories filled with cool sedan and coupe, but nowadays everyone likes SUV for no reason. I'm a short guy, 165 cm, sitting higher like a truck is kinda terrified and getting in on SUV is kinda bothering. I wish sedan or coupe never gone :(
7.3 miles per gallon... What a time to be alive.
Can't imagine what the repair bills on this are going to be a few years down the road...
Sell after warranty and eat your shorts in depreciation.
Probably as high as on „old“ V10 Touaregs, W12 Phaetons etc.
Sooooo you will be broke when something breaks.
Had to go back and watch that door-mounted shot at 2:14 a few times. So slick!
Great car! It successfully combines everything - reliability, dynamics, beauty ...! I want this !!!
Why is a 4-door SUV called a Coupe?? Can someone explain to me how that logically makes sense?
It doesn't. It's marketing bs. These days you can make people believe anything because logic is considered a tool of oppression.
Makes no sense, but someone in marketing thought the word 'coupe' was cool, and since they weren't selling many real ones, might as well stick it on something else. I'm glad this one doesn't overdo the coupishness and wreck the back seat space.
It is much better than calling it a Mustang...
Excellent review. Appreciate the 411 on the active roll stabilization.
great presenter. Really like your videos. Thanks so much.
Dear Germany: a vehicle with 4 doors and a liftgate is not a "coupe." You have built a station wagon and all shall refer to it as such.
100% agree
In an age when a man can self identify as a woman, definitions are meaningless.
@@Ethan7s 😂😂😂
Dear Americans, if you could speak more than 0.8 languages you'd realise that coupe simply means to cut off. Which means the rear pillars get cut down for a sloping roof line. The number of doors is irrelevant. And if you want to be a pedantic smartass, coupes only have 2 seats. So most coupes aren't really coupes.
@@bux834 is that why Europe is constantly at war? What language did you guys use when asking Americans to save your candy asses?
How did "salt spray" make it's way to the center console? Driving with the windows down?
Maybe it's salt from some Arby's fries. Good question, though.
exterior door handle....?
I imagine drifting in the snow through the Arbys drive though with the windows down.
I picked the wrong video to make this comment but I just so happened to see you posted this 3 hours ago but when I watch you're videos I feel so deeply connected and it feels like you guys are talking about something bigger than cars. Like the passion and dedication you have is incredible. You speak about each vehicle as if they are some special person and not something made from a factory. You both deserve all the rewards and self satisfaction in what you do because I highly appreciate what you both do and thank the universe ✨ 💛
Dude, you need to be shooting movies. You guys have a great eye and great ears - the audio video matches are superb
What camera are you guys using for the exterior shots in the beginning of the video? Beautiful!
as a jeep guy i'll say this is a genius design in steering with the stabilizer and the rear toe in, this is the future of cars. even if that toe fails one day or sway bar, it will work as a normal car. impressive.
My mechanic called from his ski challet in Liechtenstein and wants you to please confirm the timing chain faces the firewall with the new 19-tensioner design upgraded to new recycled bamboo-fiber infused plastic design?
Love your detailed reviews Mark and Jack. Keep them coming.
Oh man, I couldn't agree more. Can't count how many times I've longed for a simple on/off/volume knob in my GV.
when can we expect the nsx review?
Just got mine last November, this is spot on! 😂
Great review. Amazing how much you fit into a relatively short time span, no fluff at all. I do miss Mr. Singapore though
I can see the build quality THROUGH my screen, thank you to the savagegeese team for making visual perfection
That looks like an incredibly complicated vehicle. Straight to the junkyard as soon as the warranty is over I am sure.
haha looks like you will only buys used 90' cars then..
This comment makes zero sense.
Absolutely! Unless some fool buys it and ends up driving it around with a bunch of broken parts (like the fancy roll bars).
@@CountCorax I just stated a fact. You can t avoid advanced computing devices on most modern high performance cars these days.
Modern high performance car = high maintenance
Ohhh baby, couldn't click fast enough when I saw this title.
Thanks.
Hope you got an answer. I have the same question as you. Please share if you got an answer.
Just write those cars off your mind and only look at them in meme filled Savegeese reviews to glance at the lifestyle of important busy business people
Payments? Oh, you must mean lease payments. Nobody finances these to buy them.
@@markmiller3279 leases are waste of money. Always pay cash. No finance too. Financing and paying cash is the only smart way. Leasing is the worst out of this three
@@mastersilence3446 I agree, i mean if cars are necessities and some don’t have the means to buy a car but have to, finance and lease are great ideas. However, paying cash ensures more freedom with the vehicle. Leasing makes no sense especially now when car prices are crazy. 100k may be just a little bit expensive but still affordable unlike something above 200k
Love your work
I have the exact same touch screens in my A6.
@@BlameGamerOfficial exactly!👍
That V8 though. Sounds so good.. German V8's always sound so mean like big American V8's.. I hate the all touch center stack of this car but the rest looks amazing for what it is.
Great technical review. These are very accommodating of a tune to get significantly more power while still being under the torque limit of the ZF trans which was originally designed for the TDI V8 version.
The touch interface in this audi is by far the most dangerous and stupid revelation in the motor industry.
yeah the older MMI control dial was much better, MMI Touch is needless
Looking forward to the 3x reviews/week if possible. Absolutely love your channel and content

Audi's should just have their "Check Engine" light lit up from day one to get it over with....
Love this video. Thank you for producing great content and information
The intro sold me.
God but the beginning footage in your videos is always gorgeous.
I actually did a better job with a caliper paint kit from Ebay.
@@dougrobinson8602 👍 for mocking Audi, 👎 for painting floating calipers. 😉
Thank you for a great, honest and objective opinion. Did you ever evaluate the SQ7 also? If yes where can I find this video?
Like this new solo Goose presentation. 100 % Goose.
No offence to muscle car fan, german car buyer, ethnicallyambiguouseddie, of course.
The water dripping from the bottom of the car gave me anxiety 😂
So glad your Sub count is going up! Well deserved.
The center stack looks dated already. The screen should go all the way up.
Mark, two points - what about throttle response? Any lag? And you say if you keep for 3 years when the warranty is 4 yr/50K, so not sure what you mean regarding that
where do you get your music from? you know this, but your production values are fabulous.
I don't even wanna buy a car but I watch every video you make because they are soo good and interesting
I don't quite understand the check engine explanation at 10:45.
How does a car with an automatic transmission stall? Or did the start stop system shut the engine down but the brakes didn't hold and it rolled back?
Nice video. Thanks
I’m starting to miss Jack in your solo videos. Still miss turbowski; hope he’s not forced to drive a minivan these days.
