- The SQ8 has some special touches from Audi. This SUV sits on the same chassis as the Lamborghini Urus. Under the hood is a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that is pumping out 500HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. On the outside you will find a unique front fascia, wheels, and rear bumper. On the inside there are sport seats, beautiful leather, and all the technology you could ever want. Is the Audi SQ8 a REAL performance SUV?

Your presentations are awesome! I watch them multiple times for various reasons. Some to just laugh, some to get the details, some to list the zonks but all to enjoy a thorough and entertaining performance. Your camera person and editing are excellent as well! I am in California so I will get mine here but my siblings and nephews in Florida were just sent a link to this review and hopefully will get one at the dealership you used. I own a new SQ8 and agree with your review. It is the perfect mix of power and luxury IMHO. The sound when it starts up is amazing...my family and friends all have a smile on their face when I start it up. I have a lightly optioned one as I couldn't see spending up to $20k more for them. My out the door cost was $95k which is a lot of money but it is a lot of car. Keep up the great work. I really like your reviews...fair yet you still can be excited about each car. Happy Holidays.

Great review Joe. I agree w/ you that this might be the sweet spot of the lineup. Much more performance than the Q8 & still the top end of the Audi SUV lineup, but under $100K it gives you 90% of the performance of the RSQ8 but at tens of thousands less. Love it !

Man, I freaking love Audi. 4.0L twin-turbo V8 500HP quattro...and that's the middle of the road option. I could see setting that bad boy up with a set of Blizzaks and go winter driving out here on a powder day. The RSQ8 has to be insane! Awesome review man! That was fun!! Oh yeah...where Audi also absolutely kills it is the interior. The instrument cluster digital cockpit is the best there is to offer. Wow, what a sick ride. I want one.

It’s strange as the cup holder cover is standard in other markets. I have it in my Q8 and it looks much better.

I like the huge space of the trunk. I could probably fit a bunch of Pokemon or Cat stuffed animals to cuddle yourself, or maybe fit gigantic Backpacks or coolers for the beach, or maybe alot of things for Christmas dinner or preperations.

Gosh, another video today? You just dropped one 3 hours ago! Amazing! Honestly, while I like the Q8, I wish it was an SUV larger than the Q7. One that could compete with the GLS, LX, and X7. But this is still one amazing vehicle.

I’m a sports sedan guy, but yes to more performance SUVs. Hopefully soon we will see a few reasonably priced performance SUVs from non-luxury automakers.

Just had a Q8 Premium as a rental in SLC. It was an absolute beast that I didn't want to return. Only thing I could complain about was the wireless CarPlay dipping in and out and the arm rest being tiny and of poor build quality & materials. Put my Velar to shame. Great review as always.
Poor quality? I have Audi sq8 and there no poor quality. Everything’s feels premium to touch. Maybe the rentals have worn out cars.
@@mastersilence3446 Hey my friend, didn't mean the entire car was poor build quality, they're absolutely great. Was simply referencing the armrest didn't match the quality of the rest of the car. It felt like a piece of plastic and not ultra lux leather. Didn't have an SQ8 as a rental, only a Q8, which might be why. Beast of a car, hope you're enjoying yours.

Great review! As usual. I do have a technical question I hope you might be able to answer. I am deciding between the 2021 Q8 and 2021 SQ8, either choice would be Prestige, and loaded. I'd like the better mpg of the Q8, but that bigger engine is just so darn tempting, brings a smile to my face just watching you enjoy it. Here's the thing. An option on the SQ8 not available on the Q8 is the Sports Package, which adds Active Roll Stabilization and a Sport Rear Differential, the latter I assume is a rear electronic ltd slip differential (though I don't know if it works the same as other such slip diffs, or it somehow works differently or in limited ways). Apparently with that rear differential added you can send even more power to the rear axel, apparently as much as 80%, as well as send power as needed to either the right or left rear wheel. Clearly all that together will make turns on dry, well maintained roads at higher speeds all the more solid and effective, and fun I suspect. My concern is what impact will those features, especially the sport rear differential have on slippery rain soaked roads, or more importantly for me in mountainy ski country, on snow and ice covered roads during bad snow storms (Best days to go skiing after all), and beyond that, on less well maintained, rougher secondary roads or even dirt roads to get to a destination.
Will the sport package make any difference in these less than ideal situations, and if any difference, what difference, how does it do that, and will it be a net positive or net negative? I don't mind spending the extra money if it just makes the car all the better in all situations, but those bad weather ones are most important to me, bad weather and bad road winter especially.
Also, without adding the Sport Package to the SQ8, will the quattro all wheel drive be the same for both the Q8 and SQ8? If not, how different?
Lastly, is the Q8 60/40 rear biased all wheel drive a fixed bias, or does it vary, sending more power front or rear as needed for slippage and such? And if variable what is the max percentage that can go to the front versus to the rear? And on this point, do the various driving modes (Dynamic, Comfort, All Road, Off Road, etc...) also change the percentages of power sent to the front and rear axel, or only other things like the suspension? I would get the air suspension and rear wheel turning in either choice. And do you know what percentages in each mode, if applicable? Is the SQ8 without the Sports Package option the same?
I'd really appreciate any info you or other posters can share on the above. It's a lot of money to spend, and the above issues are important to me. Thanks. And thanks again for another great review.

I feel like the Urus and these cars are the same, to me I feel like the Urus has better performance but this is more than plenty for anyone looking to just get around. 500hp is enough to get you plenty of tickets but needless to say that is one awesome family hauler
