I realize you will never see this but I wanted to say thanks for helping me decide to buy a new sq8. I am a long time Audi fan having had 5 of them in various configurations. My current 2012 q7 has really been flawless but it is technologically dated for me. I watched a lot of sq8 reviews and did all the research, so the hardest thing for me was deciding on a color! I really appreciated your straight forward review and my dog Oliver says hi to the girls!

THANK YOU FINALLY A DECENT RELATBALE CAR REVIEW ! I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SEE IF MY DOBERMAN WILL FIT IN THE BACK OF THE CAR LITERALLY NO ONE DOES A VIDEO LIKE THIS
How would you compare and rate the A6 Allroad and SQ8 since you recently reviewed both of them? Not power of course but overall livability. Thank you! Another good review and you actually read and respond to your comments!
I loved the Allroad, I love wagons. Did I feel the squeeze up to the Adirondacks? Totally, but I also didn’t have a roofbox. It’s really just an observation with the extra foot space. The truth is both would feel pretty similar esp in 55TFSI models. And interestingly enough, they are similarly priced too. Regular Q8 vs A6 AllRoad.
@@AndietheLab thank you. I am considering the Allroad, Q8 and SQ8 but all are in limited supply for test driving, especially the Allroad. We don’t have dogs (just one deaf rescue cat) but as much as I love V8’s and especially the twin-turbo Audi V-8 (we also have an A8L 4.0 TT), think the Allroad is the most “sensible”.
Sensible is relative. If you can afford it, and if you’re looking for the thrills - SQ8/RSQ8 all day - If you need something with function AND you want to go fast. Make no mistake, the AllRoad is best served as a prestige model and that easily hits 86-90 all day. So it really comes down to your preference in looks. I personally would take a maxed out A6 AllRoad over the regular Q8 55TFSI all day.
@@AndietheLab my thoughts exactly! Actually, we are selling our Porsche Boxster which has been our “fun car” with an Alfa Veloce Spider as it’s most immediate predecessor. Having owned several Alfas, Fiats, and Lancia’s, fun is losing out to comfort (heated massaging seats) since the vagaries of age and too much “fun” have taken their toll!! You have been very helpful!
Took me 4.3 Seconds to subscribe. Great review and with great personality. The dogs have got to stay I want to know what they think too about the cars.
Thanks for your great review! My wife is not a car person but she appreciates our SQ8 even more now after watching. One question - During launch control, how did you get the display to show your 0-60 time?
Love the review. Well done! Any idea how the SQ8 would do in bad snowstormy weather in ski country, main roads and backroads? Any idea how it would compare in such situations to the Q8, and why? I'm hoping maybe Andie's Mom or some of the posters here might share their thoughts on the matter. Clearly these cars will do great on good roads in summer weather, but they are suv's after all, and I'm wondering about that side of things. Thanks for any input. I'm trying to decide if I should get the Q8 or SQ8, which is very tempting, or stick to a full size suv and its trade-offs.
I had winter tires on and had ZERO traction confidence issues. Now take with a grain of salt because if you live in an area that needs studs, we’ll get studs! But I personally think the SQ8 is the way to go with it’s available power and that it can transfer power to the rear more than a regular Q8
I keep coming back to this excellent review. Am now deciding between the fully loaded, Prestige with black optics Q8 or SQ8, including the optional sports package on the SQ8, leaning towards the SQ8. Thought I'd ask you one more question: Do you know if there is room on top for both that beautiful, large streamlined cargo container you show on your review on one side and a ski rack on the other? That would be ideal, but may take up too much room. Oh, and one more question: Do you know or have you heard rumors if Audi will be making any enhancements to the upcoming 2022 Q8 or SQ8 apparently coming out this fall, and if so what? I still wish I could get the fully loaded, Prestige SQ8 with black optics, but with the 285/45R21 wheels with the slightly thicker sidewalls instead of the 285/40R22's that adding the black optics currently forces you in to. Thought maybe if I waited till fall I might get lucky on that one. In any case, if you know or have heard anything about either question, you or any other posters here, thanks for sharing.
Acura has started to develop reliability issues the last 2-3 years in both the RDX and MDX.. Not saying it's below Audi but it's fallen in JD Edward and Consumer Reports as well. Tranny , Infotainment, and etc... The MDX falling was especially an eye opener as it's an established platform at this point and should be bulletproof given Honda's reliability.
Wish they offered a slightly larger and longer version of that same roof top luggage container in this video, one that would still not interfere with the rear opening fully. I would prefer it be long enough to handle ski's, including the longer ones that I a 6'2" tall man would use. I know you wouldn't want it to go forward too much more, but at least some added length would be great, maybe revising this one, or offering an XL version. But otherwise, it's a beaut.
Love Thule racks for skis and extra gear (Nice rack!)- especially this Audi variant with some unique contours. Any noticable wind noise at cruising speeds?
That 🖤Beast Audi SQ8 sund absolutely, incredible, beautiful from that exhaust pipes, and from that BiTurbo V8 engine with 500 horsepower 🐎🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Great review, and thanks for your reply to my earlier question. Much appreciated. I have one more question: That cargo box on the top of your SQ8, it is beautiful looking, and holds a lot of stuff as you said, I can absolutely see it being useful, but I wonder, do you know if having it up there affects mpg, especially over the course of a long highway drive? And if so, by how much? Clearly it is designed to minimize that, but I wonder nonetheless. Thanks.
@@AndietheLab Marginal? Less than 1 mpg? Less than 1/2 mpg? Other? Thanks. (Note: I'm trying to decide between the 2021 SQ8 loaded Prestige with Sports Package, with or without the Black Optics Package. Without allows me to use the 285/45/21 tires with slightly thicker rubber. With black optics puts me into the 285/40/22 tires with slightly less thick rubber. I imagine the slightly thicker rubber might help on less well maintained secondary roads and perhaps really bad snowy and icy roads during bad storms. But that black optics, with your navarro blue, is so stunning, so trying to decide. If the difference between the 45 and 40 sidewall's is so negligible as to not be noticeable I'd get the black optics, the navarro blue and black optics. But if there is some degree of a noticeable difference, then I'd go without the black optics so as to get the thicker rubber, and likely get the light silver colored. Comment on that if you wish, but the mpg is what i'm trying to most pin down. Thanks regardless)
@@AndietheLab LOL. I like your attitude. Thanks for the quick follow up! I think that's what I am going to do. That is such a stunning looking vehicle, wow! Andie's pretty cute too. :-)
@@AndietheLab Sorry to bug you again, but you've been so great I thought I'd ask: Did you get the Sports Package with your 2021 SQ8? If so, what do you think about it? I'm leaning strongly now towards the SQ8 Prestige, loaded including black optics (Navarro Blue exterior, either the red or black leather interior, though the grey looks great too). The highway MPG at 21 is only 2 mpg less than the Q8 at 23, but another reviewer said they actually got 22 mpg on a long highway trip with the SQ8, so even better, maybe that happens in comfort or efficiency mode, so for that and other reasons, including just the greater fun of it, the SQ8 it is. I think I want to get the optional Sport Package (Adds Active Roll Stabilization and a Sport Rear Differential), thinking it might add some additional traction in wet or snow covered roads, not just on turns on dry roads. If so, why not. But I thought to ask you your experience with it. Either way, thanks for everything.
