The car should have the wiring harness built in. If its not there then they changed something in production, mine is a 2015 base. Double check by removing the cover
I can't say for sure because I never checked an 09, but if you pull the shroud then you will see if you have the plugs. This shouldn't be difficult and will give you the forsure answer. To be honest, I use the shifter more than the paddles because of the location when driving manual, it became muscle memory. One nice thing, is the paddles do make the cluster area look a lot better. Any plans to post videos of your build?
Save money, cut cost, maximize profit, make a “yearly” change, not as many people who buy the base interested in paddles, incentivize you to buy the upgrade; this is probably one of many penny pinches… many reasons that don’t favor the consumer.
I can drive shift via stick, via auto, via stick then use paddles, and via automatic then just click the paddles to engage (if you stop using them for a few seconds or stop 🛑 automatic mode kicks in). Hopefully that made sense and helps answer your question.
@@ProjectAnubisUSA i know its been 3 years but the plastic cover that goes over the paddle shifter is there a pre made hole alrready or do you have to pre cut it
@@trualpha I didn’t cut anything, I replaced all the covers as a kit if I recall. Newer or older models this could’ve changed and they could’ve made them differently but I don’t see why why would change something if it works. It would cost probably $25,000 for a mold to do these plastic cowlings. I’ve been involved in molding projects overseas and for something the size of a shift knob it cost $5,000-$10,000 depending on how many slides it needs.
Unsure what you ment to say but so far the setup is still working perfectly. I honestly don’t use the paddles as much as the shifter because it seems to feel more natural.
@@MikeMullerSkates I don’t recall since I bought items on eBay, and other places for parts, but here’s something to used to recommend a PN a few years back.

Does that plug in already come in the car waiting for the paddle shifters ?

So they wired it but just didn’t apply the hardware. Why Nissan?

@@ProjectAnubisUSA yeah I guess most buy the MT. The install is does not hard, good video!
Does the vehicle still retain DS mode? Or does it immediately give manual control via the paddles after the install?

The cover that you swapped out at the end for the space of paddle shifter, where you did you buy the cover?
