You mentioned the emotion in her face; because she had barely any make-up on, we can see all the lines, wrinkles, expressions. No formfitting outfits that require days on a treadmill to fit into, or outrageous styling to hide behind. Absolutely no auto-tune. You wouldn't blink if she sat next to you on a train. Just completely real, honest feelings, conveyed with conviction and raw talent ✌️
Why mention lines wrinkles mate, would you say that if she was a man. I know you were complimenting her but she has been through enough of that shit in her life without dragging it up again.

I perhaps need to stop leaving comments at 2.30 in the morning 🙃 As crappy as it is, it is still far more acceptable for male performers to present themselves however they choose. I only meant to say it's one of the things I've always admired about Kasey, that she doesn't pander to those types of expectations. I will try to choose better words

I wasn't at this performance however I saw her perform this at Bluesfest in Melbourne in April of this year. The crowd was blown completely away. I had goosebumps and tears pouring down my face as did many in the crowd. It was the most incredible experience ever. ❤
Kasey is an Australian country singer who loves Eminem and during our lockdowns she came up with this arrangement. It is FIRE , thanks for the reaction 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺. Kasey asked all who were there that night to send in their mobile phone videos and thats how they made the video.😊

I read a comment from someone who was there and said that this was good but doesn't capture the emotion in the room. It must have been incredible.
Before she released this video I saw her do this live at Byron Bay bluesfest Australia. It was surprising when she first started playing it and I remember having goose bumps. It was so moving and being so close to the front could see the emotion from her at the end, almost in tears it took that much of her. Was very special. She has a couple videos up of her song 'ain't no little girl' one performed in the US and one is a medley at the Arias in Australia that sees her inducted into the hall of fame. Both are great performances also. She is a very special talent and the most generous kind down to earth person. Have met her a couple times. Thanks for a great review.
Good reaction, great artist. Love how she's willing to leave it all out on the stage. Her Dad was playing the slide Guitar. She's a well known Australian Country artist and if you want to see some more from her in her normal wheelhouse, try 'Aint no little girl'. As with most Aussie artists, live performances will usually be better.
You commented about the video looking like it was filmed by the audience. This is because it was. Kasey put out the call to her fans about any recording of this performance and those sent in were mixed in with the official live recordings from the venue and this music video was created.

I’ve binge watched over 50 reactions & counting & all get the chills, the goosebumps, the wows, the lost for words, blown away but your reaction is the most in tune with my own the first time I “experienced” this Phenomenal performance, brilliant arrangement & pure to the emotional interpretation - just legendary!!
Em gave her his permission to release on Spotify, that says it all 👏👏👏 She is aged 46 at the time of this performance. I’ve always been a fan of Kasey, she is a freakin amazing & talented musician, artist & woman. But this was next level genius & so personal for her. The performance wasn’t filmed, she put a post out after the show to fans present to please send in any footage, the compilation of which you see. The band killed it, matching & building with her energy brilliantly. Her brother Nash on guitar & the vocals that nurtured the momentum & their dad on slide guitar - all of them together made this the best live, for me a song rebirth of an already epic piece of lyrical genius, not a cover, that I’ve ever heard, seen & felt to my core. I can only imagine, it would be a life changing moment to have physically been there at the time.

The video was a compilation of all the fans in the audience who recorded it on there phone. That's why it looks low quality. Which I think is cool. And it's from the last show of her tour so she ended the whole tour with a massive bang. And she o KY released it after a load of fans begged her to do so

that was recorded in 2022, no clips were taken. kasey asked for phone clips to make up the video. kasey from south aust. brought up in the desert with her family. more power to her.

saw many bands there in the 70s.. BOOMTOWN RATS, IAN DURY AND THE BLOCKHEADS.. . its a beautiful old movie palace of about 1500 people.. upper level very steep.. great acoustics

Kasey going from that resigned, laid back approach early in the song to the fighting emotion later is beyond powerful! 💪🏼 Kasey is very under appreciated and needs to be recognised more on an international scale! Kasey is a master of storytelling, conveying lyrics and emotion! She is an icon in the Australian music industry, mostly for country and folk, but has her own style and is never afraid to delve into something outside the box. She is just getting better as she gets older. I really hope that Eminem has seen this and appreciates that his song and lyrics were re-imagined in such a spectacular way. I guess he has, as he did give her permission to upload to Spotify etc. Would really like to hear what he thought about it though. Where else would you see head-banging with a banjo, steel guitar and rock band together? Kasey started her solo commercial career around the same time as Eminem and she was a big fan of his music. From what I understand, Kasey spent lockdown playing around with some of her favourite songs and this version of Lose Yourself is the result. Brilliant! Kasey has spent her whole solo career bucking the constraints of the record companies and always gone her way. She made it to the top in Aussie music anyway with many awards, becoming the youngest ever ARIA Hall of Fame recipient. BTW….how was that for breath and vocal control? Not to mention the awesome arrangement. ❤ Also, that was Kasey’s Dad, Bill, on the steel guitar and her brother Nash on lead guitar and backing vocal. Full kudos to Eminem for his songwriting. Personally, the reason Kasey’s version affects me so much is all down to the fact that she did lose herself in the music, the moment during this performance. Kasey kept the cadence but slowed it down, even in the full rock part. She is a true blue Aussie who will leave her soul bared on stage every single time. ❤ The video was a montage from the audiences phone vids… deliberately done to make it a more intimate experience.

I’ve listen to Kasey as a young woman and she spoke to me when she sang not pretty enough and she has taken me to the age of 47 with ain’t no little girl.

I've heard that this video was assembled after they acquired the audio track. They appealed to the fans to send in any video they took of the song and assembled this video... also her brother may have been the second person, the guitar/harmony and her dad was reported to be the lap steel guitar player on the left in the cowboy hat...
Embarrassing how many times over the last few weeks that I have watched reactions to this. 😂 Still blows me away! Most reactors are completely sceptical to start then are completely turned around by the end. Eminem is a master lyricist and songwriter and Kasey shows this in her own indomitable way. Just wish everyone would actually watch the vid to the end when the guitarist asks the audience to “give me a hell yeah” and they do! ❤
