We were more concerned that the Air Force made up put all our liquor in the trash before we took off. After landing we went back to the trash can but the locals had taken out all the liquor. The BX and the All Ranks Club were closed. We weren't so much concerned about almost dying. We were angry we had no booze for the night.

How bad luck can you have? You have 4 engines, so you think enough redundancy, but then 3 of them fail shortly after take off. It is a miracle all on board survived. But sad enough those two in that house perished...
what are the odds of dying by 747 incursion into your ranch ?! Poor people. And it's not the first time I hear about planes crashing or almost crashing because they lost 1 engine. (not 3 like here) The loss of one engine made it impossible to climb or maintain altitude resulting in stall or CFIT. So what's really the point of saying a plane can run on 3 out of 4 or 1 out of 2 engines when sometimes this is not the case.. A little bit worrying..
Did that thing have water/glycol injection ? Do any modern planes still have that ? Basically couldn't climb/fly with one engine out without "firewalling" the 3 remaining engines and two out of the 3 of those failed in various ways when pushed harder than normal takeoff power ?
No water injection on the 747. The engines failed due to lack of proper maintenance. Two engines out it most likely would made it back to the airport. But with two out and a third failing they weren’t going to make it.

I used to like the old piston engined aircraft, such as the DC3. They were in regular use when I was a boy. The tail was almost on the ground, so you just walked in straight off the tarmac.
My first thought was who worked, or DIDN'T WORK on those engines last!Engines were WAY PAST OVERHAUL AT 94K+ hrs. Should be torn down, inspected at like 15k HRS.
Airframe and engine times are different. Engines are time changed according to engine manufacturer specifications. Example based off of cycles, time at temperature etc.
It just make me mad that some airplanes companies don't have any regard for the life of people that die due to their incompetence, sad people lose their lives on the ground 😢and thanks God that the pilots and people on board didn't lose their lives, greedy companies
One would have thought that loss of one engine would not have required over boosting the other 3 to remain airborne. I’ve been flying twin jets for many years and if the performance calculations are correct there is no need to do anything with an engine failure after take off other than keep it straight and retract the gear, even during reduced thrust take off.
Well, I’m not gonna get it. He said she said stuff, but I’m retired from the federal government and the DHS US customs area and I have knowledge of that so but it goes on and on and on so good luck.

Twins are so much safer than quads. If you lose one engine on a twin, you still climb like nobody's business. Lose an an engine on a 747, and you can barely climb, if it all.
And then when the other one craps out, you ain't goin' nowheres but down. I survived 29 yrs. of that sh_t, just like shown in this video and I'll take more engines and a good engineer (this one, Kendall, sounds like a top-drawer, really good one. As soon as he, un-commanded, brought up an immediate fuel-dump, that clinched it) any day, especially flying from there, where an 8300 ft. field alt. and 10-15% over what they stated as payload was the usual norm.
I disagree. I have 5 years on the 747, and just over a year on the 777. A single engine failure on a 747 is really a non-event. It will perform just fine. It gets a little tricky with two out on the same side, but it's still manageable. Loss of an engine on a 777 isn't a big deal either. It still performs well on one. Bottom line- they will all fly with a 50% reduction in thrust.
Very clever simulation of the actual crash. That was a terrifying 11 minute ride. Another great video.

Great airmanship, and it sounds like good CRM in the cockpit. What a shame
Your recreations are so much better than the other guys who do this stuff. You can do the special effects. And better graphics and angles.
The other guy ? Which one ?
Great video! Including the prop-type sound the old Pratt & Whitney engines made when winding up to full power!
The sound effect in the video I think was that of a newer type of high bypass engine such as on newer 747 or the 767
