I own Artisan Pure and I really enjoy this fragrance. About a month ago I was wearing this fragrance and I received two compliments in less then 2 min one from the other from two completely different ladies. I really dig the dry down and on my skin I get like a fresh woody vibe. It's an awesome fragrance IMHO, compliment magnet and I get about 6-7 hrs of longevity. Highly recommended! 👌🏽

Was coming to South America where its super hot, 30 plus degrees dry heat, 3 sprays on my shirt then 4 sprays on my neck all arround and the same day I wore it got compliments. Apply in the Morning and then again in the afteroon and works wonders. I would say its an exclusive super high heat fragrance where it seems to project very well plus sits on your clothes for a long time. The more you sweat it seems like the more it projects.

I 100% agree about Artisan Pure being something that's not easily accessible. Those herbals can really throw you off. I got it as my first bottle and started disliking it because of the herbals, so I ended up selling it off. It gets cloying and medicinal, especially in cooler environments, so it's one of those fragrances that need heat. Such a waste because that tart citrus in the opening is so bright, fun and uplifting.
I'm new to collecting fragrances and this one is my absolute favorite. I need to track down similar fragrances to Artisan Pure, I cant get enough of it.
Just AMAZING...blind bought this based on previous reviews from here and other sites...love it. I dont get the bitter in the beginning and I love the citrus opening. I get pretty good performance and I can't wait for the warmer weather to hit--will be even better!
I got this at tjmaxx at $25 for a 2.5 oz. I think? Haven’t worn it much but it does smell decent. Not anything I’d wear super often but something nice for a beach day in the summer or something. Real casual. Actually reminds me a lot of Froot Loops!
Just bought this and you are 100% right. Sprayed it around 8:30pm and wasn't a fan was actually disappointed but said ok let it dry down. It's 9:15pm and wow it has been getting better and better since about 8:50. Freshy to wear while dressed up. Doesn't seem feminine to me by the way.

Opens up as lemon/citrus. Somewhat soapy, not sour imo. Just essence of lemon. Smooths out to sweet lemon custard, dries down into a citrus/musk/sandalwood.

One of my favorites from JV...At first it took me awhile to get used to kinda of feminine, soft, floral scent but thats just my nose...Its got me many complements from the ladies. Yeah its not beast mode but Im not trying to choke others and myself out...the dry down is nice but that opening is AWSOME...very inoffensive and something to mix it up with all the other summer time fragrance s I ware in the summer... Be warned if heavy masculine, or party and clubbing frags are your thing, STAY CLEAR. Great fresh,soft,citrus on the cheap with this one.....
I totally agree that it takes time to appreciate this one. I tried it 2 times and dismissed it on both occasions only to try it for the third time and finally buy it together with Dark Rebel. Now I'm seriously considering to stock up in case JV runs out of business.
Appreciate the idea of revisiting a fragrance that you may not have liked all that much the first time. That happened with me with Issey Miyake L'eau D'issey Pour Homme. Thought it was weird smelling and now I like it quite a lot. Thanks again!
Wearing this now. I saw a 4.2 oz at TJ Maxx today. First time I saw that frag at that store. $28. I was gonna pick it up but since I already have a 4.2oz that’s like 90% full. So I passed. That is a bargain, especially since I bought my bottle when it first came out and paid retail at a Duty Free.
For that money you definitely should have grabbed it, especially with this Varvatos bankruptcy thing going on - they’re gonna be harder to come across soon enough

It's love at first smell for me. I tried it at sephora and damn its really nice. And i live on tropical area and it gets 35c (95f) pretty often here so i can wear that all year long.
@@aalamite normally it will, needs heat to perform tho. So if you WFH do some lite exercises to heat up your body and the alcohol pops out more now, and you get wider range of evaporation

Unfortunately I had to buy mine at Macy’s recently again for full retail the plus was that I received a JV duffle bag for free followed by a 4.2 artisan after shave ;) so I guess buying full retail has its perks other than receiving a cheap makeup remover wipe or wine voucher from fragrancenet lol.
I’m a niche-y person and I try to like it but i get a toatally screechy cleaner with absolutely trash performance, even compared to other jv fragrances, i assume the bottle I sampled was a dud, because I’m surprised people that wear expensive fragrances can wear this

I think i love this scent is because of the orange and i love aqua amara as well. Thats why i would think i would like the Parfume of sauvage. I noticed that my nose is similar to yours. Lol

An ultra pleasing summer scent that has an interesting herbal twist…I would describe it as a green pepper. I love this one.

Artisan Blu is very good too. If you are feeling especially daring try their OUD scent.

I'm going to pair this one with Kenneth Cole Black tomorrow. They both share a similar orange citrus opening.
I felt the same way with JV artisan pure. I wasnt suprise when i got it at tjmax, now it has grown on me.

You can use John Varvatos perfumes like a deodorant. They're cheap and smell great but their longevity is not so good.
