In my personal review:
1. The topnotes is quite strong, a bit like lemongrass.
2. When it comes to heart and base notes, its very pleasant, soothing, and elegant. Feels like on vacation at a breezy beach.
3. The bottle is the top factor i love John Varvatos fragrances.

Jeremy Neireiter ... If u love Artisan Black, thats mean u will not like this Artisan Pure. Its a bit soft compared to Artisan Black.

C-Los def one of my favorites. Damn this thing is incredible. Wifey loves it too. I really like to wear it in the summer as it reminds me of a Corona commercial. Feet up, on the beach chilling with fam and friends. Keep doing your thang mang. Big compliment getter as well.

Hey Carlos, great review. From what I've heard about Artisan Pure it seems to be a solid release. Haven't smelt much from the John Varvatos line but Artisan Aqua is pretty good. Thanks for the opportunity to get my nose on this one.

I really like the Varvatos presentations. $50? You did well. What do you think accounts for the increase in performance? I find even "summer" scents can work in an climate controlled office environment. I was looking at one of his fragrances today, but Black Friday killed my bank account! John Varvatos Artisan smells wonderful, clean and a real gentleman. IMO. Would love to try out the flankers one day including Artisan Blue.
Sounds like Varvatos is stepping up their game! Only ever sample sprayed while in retail stores so I don't have a current favourite... but Pure sounds like a good place to start!

Carlos!....That was perfect.....Is Artisan Pure perfect as a designer fragrance?....absolutely NOT.....Is Pure VERY good?...YES....I use to be my "Vice Commodore" of my yacht club near Chicago a few years ago....That reminds me of what Pure is perfect for!!....I think you described it well!!! This is a unique, nice warm weather fragrance. In the summer with humidity you don’t need much.Nothing I know smells like it.
His review is accurate. Bois de Vetiver from Lagerfeld is in the same family.

Dark Rebel Rider is the only JV fragrance I own. I definitely want to get my nose on Artisan Pure. Hopefully Macy's has it. As There isn't a Bloomingdales where I live.

Out of the 3 colognes I have tried from this house, the original John Varvatos for men is my favourite.
I have tried the entire line except this and I would lov to try this beautiful fragrance
Nice review Carlos. I love almost of JV line, but my favorite, despite the appalling performance, is Artisan Blu. If you say this one is lasting more than the previous maybe there's hope in the future for the line.
I picked up a bottle of this when it first came out. I like it...however, the first thing i think of when i put it on is the smell of a freshly opened box of Fruit Loops. that tones down quickly with a little wear...and it becomes a nice fragrance. its not my favorite Varvatos but its nice and wearable.
I love John Varatos Platinum. The vanilla is very rich and it lasts quite a while on my skin.

Nice review of JV. I have been wearing John Varvatos since 2000. The 2 I have tried is Vintage and the other brown bottle, sorry forgot the name. I have had longevity issues with them ,just like others. I wish they would work on that cause I really like the fragrances. I will have to try the new release.

Artisan Pure sounds like a very fresh, clean, crisp yet unoffending scent. Would definetly want to try it here in Puerto Rico. It seems like its one of those fragrances I call "freshly bathed" maybe?
Some many good ones from the house of John Varvatos. I'm gonna recommend Platinum Edition, since it's really unique, and gets good feeback, and seems to last a bit.
Rodrigo flores is a great nose , the king of citrous scents (TF neroli portofino) and love the fact that he is Mexican. Great to hear that this JV does last!!! I love the original artisan and DRR. But the problem is the performance
I just had to wait for 6 years, to find a 125ml bottle for the price of the 75ml bottle, but I hought Lacoste L12.12 Blanc in the meantime. :)

The bloopers were to die for. Lol. Dark Rebel is currently my favorite from this house.
Artisan Pure,It's cool it"s a exact copy of old school Grey Flannel cologne or Hermes Eau de narcisse blue and doesn't perform near as long as the Hermes

damn when i heard "lasts long" my ears were open. Thanks for the review. Id love to try this one for sure. I really enjoy this house. Artisan blue is the only one I have tried and I really liked it. it was like a fresh citrus barbershop kind of smell.. Performance wasn't too bad either . same with dark rebel i get decent performance.. I guess my favorite out of the limited ones i have tried would be dark rebel or JV oud. but everything I have tried from the line has been good.

I love this fragrance. Purchased a bottle after the first sniff. John Varvatos makes some great scents but the projection and longevity lack and this one is no different for me. It’s a great fresh scent. I would still rate this my 2nd favorite behind dark rebel and dark rebel rider takes 3rd now. But different seasons so no problems there.
I actually got pretty solid performance from this one.

I find this fragrance a little too lemony. After the dry down, I couldn't help but think this is a very familiar scent. It reminds me of Galloway by Perfumes De Marley, which is one of my favourite fresh scents.
My favourite is either Dark Rebel or Dark Rebel Rider. I can't really decide.
