  • I think we all sometimes struggle with diabetes, right? When things aren't straightforward, it can knock us off balance.
When we can't get the basic tools we need despite following all of the rules, then what?
I spent 20 hours (Yeah, I counted), on the phone, sending messages, and trying to get what I needed to manage type 1 diabetes at the end of it, I was so frustrated that I had to vent it out.
And as of posting this, I still don't have the prescription I need in my hands.

The problem is that our health care system doesn’t benefit from wellness. They want us sick and dependent on them. I so appreciate your perspective and can you imagine the poor people who aren’t able to advocate for themselves like you are? It’s just insane.

I’m so sorry you are going thru this. I had a similar situation 2 weeks with my ozempic medication since they upped the dosage. I had to get a prior authorization for it smh.

Thank you for noticing! I take a lot of time to make sure videos are accessible to everyone. I personally absorb the information better with captions, so I spend a lot of time making sure they're clear and easy to read!

Same here.. My doc, all he wants to do it poke my feet and look into my eyes.. For now all I want is my BP meds, but he makes me jump through hoops and gives me a small supply. I had high BP for a long time, but these smart doctors never thought that it could be because of Diabetes. They probably could have prevented it with a fasting insulin test.. it’s too late now, my BP went way down after I was diagnosed and dropped my A1c from 13.1 to 6.5 in three months..

Sounds like my situation… now that I think of it, I was diagnosed with hypertension first… they didn’t realize I had diabetes until I had them check my iron😬
My A1c was 13.5 but I brought it down to 6.6 within three months.

Yep. Went through this two months ago. A local pharmacy closed down but had transitioned my info over to Walgreens. Well, Walgreens doesn’t accept my health insurance which is fine because with GoodRx discount it costs pennies…
Well one day I went into the store and they said my info was not there. I said:” it was there last time. Everything switched over December 2023 and I was able to get my meds then”
The young lady shook her head “ no” but urged me to come back after they’ve filled the prescription.
I went home and call my doctor because Walgreens also mentioned that my doctor may not have put in a request. Well, my doctor did call them… she was not lying; so the woman on the phone from pharmacy got snooty and decided to stick with the “ technical issues” theory. Listen: I’m a patient person, always have been -but having a chronic illness tend to make us feisty.
