Hi
dont worry, helped a year ago B)
hello there
Hi
yes
I just realized when they add the warden, the speed runners that do the all advancements category are going to have to get the darkness effect from it. That’s gonna be fun to see
You just need a sculk screamer and sensor
@@DryPaperHammerBro oh okay. But are the screamers reusable? Because that’s seems difficult to get without activating it when you’re there
@@brady8726 Yep, they work without being in a deep dark city
EDIT: IT MIGHT BE DUE TO IT BEING A BETA BUILD.
Speedrunners probably don't need to go to the deep dark :|
@@notasinglesoul1179 did you not read the comment 😐

No way really
I was once exploring a cave I managed to find while strip mining underneath my base.
I walked around for probably an hour, and had no idea what the ingame time was. I stumbled across this MASSIVE opening, where at like y -50 I looked up and saw the sky.
I dug out, and even managed to see my base from where I was. These new caves are awesome.
Pog lol.
Could you provide the seed?

It was insane coming across this underground, though. Complete shock seeing the sky while I was mining for diamond around bedrock. Even more surprise since my own base was within viewing distance after I climbed out.

I gotta say, as a new player, the random cave sounds really spooked me and added to the herobrine paranoia. I had no idea what they were, maybe somebody was watching in the distance, maybe there was some beast underground. Shows how much of an impact they had

Put torches on the right as you explore. Then you just have to follow them back, passing them on your left. It's not perfect, but it makes caving so much easier.
This method has saved me from getting lost in mineshafts
Another suggestion, made by LukeTheNotable, is to have the torches be facing towards the exit whenever possible.
Again, not the best solution, but it helps.
I put them on the left walls when I explore, that way I know torches to the right of me are "the right way" home

Let's have a moment of appreciation for ibxToycat, who fought for a cave update for years.
As much as Toycat embodies my problem with the calls for a cave update(The massive exaggeration of the need for one, such as him making a video presenting a perfect spawn in a village with multiple blacksmiths and flying through the ocean in creative with night vision to find aquatic structures as the average minecraft experience to claim that mining was now obsolete and an ineffective way of getting diamonds), I'm glad we got one.
Unsurprisingly, many of his fans aren't satisfied and are saying that it wasn't enough, because why be grateful that worldgen was practically remade from scratch just because fans asked and begged and sent death threats when you can complain about how they didn't add "insert feature from a mod that is most definitely not meant to be vanilla-styled here"
@@Missingno_Miner not just his fans but many other people. Ungrateful idiots.
@@Missingno_Miner His fans are complaining? Haven't been in the community for a while, but I honestly thought they had shut up. It was definitely a lit quieter.
@@chrisi7127 Definitely quieter, but I use him to find good bedrock seeds, and regularly find comments complaining about 1.18 not doing enough. In some cases, they complain that it should have been exclusively a cave update. Because why even have an aboveground when you can just make the entire game caves?
@Tech Priestess Micaela It's hard to tell. Either way, the point is that while they are quieter, largely due to the fact that Toycat himself is no longer going on about it, there are definitely still quite a few people who aren't satisfied.
after 1.19
i really hope they either update the end or just made a big quality of life update to like all of the minor systems in minecraft (ex. potions, enchanting, and redstone)
Touching redstone and how it works is the biggest no-no you could ever do. But yes, besides an End update a magic rework would be nice. Potions could be revamped, but enchanting at the core needs a ground up rework tbh.
Yeah. Magic and combat update! Everyone wants Hytale-like combat system in minecraft and not this boring click and wait with two types of weapon
I think a QoL update would be my favorite. There are so many little things that could be fixed and improved.
@@viedralavinova8266 New redstone components are being added in constantly. Completely reworking redstone would be a bad idea, but adding new things and making non-destructive changes seems fine to me.
For example, what if bedrock pistons could be crafted in java, and vice-versa? So you’d keep the original, but you’d also have parity and some cool new features.
@@bell2023 the devs have already firmly said redstone between versions will stay how they are. They'd have to rewrite most of redstone coding just to make it work similarly. Parity in exact function will never exist for redstone.
That said they could make new items/ blocks to have them work similar to the other version. But that would just be a waste of time
The new caves give me that fearful rush I used to get playing as a kid. Walking into a tiny entrance that opens up into a massive dripstone cavern gives me that sense of exploration i'd lost playing for so long.
How does this guy release such high quality content every single week
I don't think he sleeps
@@SteveHartford his voice doesn’t sound like a very exhausted person tho
Time travelling?
It's crazy to think that there was an update to Minecraft that made its caves worse.......
But it's even crazier to think that there's now an update that improved the generation of said caves into OBLIVION.
Caves used to one of the most uninspiring parts of the game and now they are nothing short of jaw dropping.
Absolutely agree, for me caves used to be just a means of getting materials, now I spend most of my ingame time underground terraforming and building structures in the massive chasms and digging tunnels connecting them to other big chasms I find.
They really put the mine crafting part back in minecraft for me
well it took to 12-13 years to caves improve more since the fact that 1.7 was pretty bad like 1.13 performance problems but cave problems, so yep
but i miss the bedrock fog it was the most cool feature about caves
There is a mod that re-introduces bedrock fog, can't wait to see it again in my 1.16 world. But that's for Java owners only unfortunately :(

I just found my first iron ore vein, after traveling down through 3 enormous cave openings. I’ve played this game for around 9 years now, but I’ve never enjoyed mining this much…
You found your first iron ore vein in over 9 years?
Lol
I love how brutally honest you often are, it makes your videos very enjoyable. You are one of the good young youtubers, the YT space has seen a lot of crappy yound creators that just resort to reaction vidoes and challenges. You do something very unique, the only other tuber I know of with a similar style is Antvenom, who I really enjoy. Bottom Line: you are a great youtuber and I feel that your channel will thrive for many years to come.
Thank you, I appreciate it a lot :)
Ibxtoycat is kind of doing that too, even if half of his videos are Minecraft challenge streams
The english is strong on this one
I love how far the caves have come, adding the new ore textures really did wonders.
I used to be mixed about the new ore textures, but they perfected them and the textures look great and modern.
The new ore textures make me realise how weird and just wrong it was that most ores looked the same with different colours, I hope they make more changes like that (like maybe to wood to make each type more unique)
@@abitofananimator5716 i mean, warped doors and trapdoors are wavy and well, warped, when warped planks aren't, so you got a point
@@joelhoon1707 I made my own texture pack with lots of things like that, I made unique woods, wool, weapons, tools and armour because I don’t like how they’re all reskins
@@abitofananimator5716 nice! i'm working on my own texture pack for bedrock, mostly just tweaks and stuff, plus retextured the unknown block into an empty bookshelf because why not and looms aren't perfect. any tips for sprite-making?
I’d personally say the Caves & Cliffs caves are very exciting. They make me so genuinely happy when I find a rare ore, even a semi-rare one like Redstone or Lapis Lazuli is exciting. The new materials, like Amethyst, Copper, and especially Deepslate are nice additions and really add to the variety of builds. Lush Caves are also great, they’re so beautiful that I feel bad thinking about building in them sometimes(not to mention the Axolotls are adorable and add to the list of non-following pet options). The abundance of caves and little space for flat terrain can be annoying when terraforming in Creative Mode, though.
remember going into a cave for the first time in the caves, and heard caves noises and didn't enter caves for a long time.
I remember when word spread that in 1.18, torches would go out after a while and you'd have to re-light them with a flint and steel.
honestly that should be a feature in hardcore haha imagine that. Its gonna make it 10 times harder when exploring caves.

10:44 Programmer Art Ores look so weird when they're right next to the deepslate ores
That's how fast we adapt Minecraft New Textures.
Even Default Texture is weird to me.
There are texture packs that make the deepslate ores match up I always play with one

Truly some amazing Minecraft content, don't play the game right now but I find that endlessly entertaining, surprised you don't have 500k, keep it up!
Damn as someone who started playing around 1.7, I had no clue cave generation was nerfed. No wonder caves became one of my least favorite parts of minecraft before 1.18. As a result, the caves and cliffs update is prob my favorite update to date.
Mine is the nether update.
Good thing you always upload even I'm about to have food or a vid before bed
I remember back in the beta 1.7.3 I was able to go caving for 100s of blocks and had no issue in going back the way I came. I wish I still had that kind of memory.
Awesome vid, Great as always.
You deserve more attention your content is great
man I feel old, I can literally say back in my day caves were so much different.
Another excellent video! :)
Greatly produced vid!
7:00 Oh you forget about that one did you. I didn't forget. I can't forget that one 😳
This great content is why I'm subbed and have been for a while. Keep it up!!!
Love all your videos
Its still surreal to me that you're aiming for 500k, I remember the days when you were aiming for 100k! Here's to 500k, and even 1 MILLION this year! :D
You'll get 500k this year. You're a great RUclipsr (:
The lighting in beta gave caves (and everything to be honest) so much more of a moody feel. I wish they'd bring it back atleast as an option. No one's even done a mod for it. Oh and also bedrock fog or whatever it was called should be absolutely brought back.
😌 Ah! I remember the old days of Bedrock Edition. It was called Pocket Edition officially back then. I might have started in late Alpha but there were no ravines or the fancy stuff Java had at the time. Redstone was basically unrecognizable, so I never bothered to learn it. I became more of an explorer/fighter who began to snipe skeletons and zombies like a pro within about a year. Back then the drawing of the bow was so slow, we still had the Nether Reactor and Old Stonecutter which didn't do anything in the Creative Inventory.
I watch TheMisterEpic’s videos a lot but I haven’t yet left a comment. Seriously your content is better than some youtubers with a million subs.
I always look forward to these videos.
I know that people probably talked about this but the nostalgia of you walking through old cave systems are just... beautiful.
oh nice, lets get you to 500k!
Thanks, I was just browsing Minecraft waiting for a good video.
Np!
the creepy cave sounds were scary the first time but you would learn that they're nothing.
then there's the warden...
As a veteran who has been infrequently playing since the 1.9 update im stunned by the 1.17 and 1.18 updates. The world generation sort of takes me back to the beta days prior to 1.8 beta. Spectacular.
I thought you had a million subs lol, you definitely deserve it
Why you still dont have more than 500k your content is so great!
This is a amazing vid !!!
You need more subscribers, my guy
Can't help but think that some of the cheese caves are just too big for their own good. If they were a little more rare or deeper underground they'd be better.
I often see cheese caves open up near the surface and can already see deepslate when looking down in them. I really feel like exploring to deepslate levels shouldn't be THAT of a breeze.
An unpopular opinon, I know.
I actually agree with you. I can't even find a normal tunnel cave anymore, and I think cheese caves are actually more common at this point
I was really tired of the strip mining meta for finding diamond; this update was a fantastic change.
You’re gonna hit 1 mill this year I promise.
There's nothing better than watching a newly uploaded video from you at 1 am
While I like the cave update, I really would have liked it if they added more unique mobs, a bigger variety biomes and loads of different underground structures. I although I really enjoy Minecraft for more than just it's caves, I think that Terraria did a better job at good immersive caving experience and and it would really do Minecraft some good if they were to take some inspiration from that. If anything, the new caves feel empty and adding the things I mentioned above could massively improve that. I'm not asking to be a dev or anything, but I think I could push the game in the right direction, just saying.
Yeah, the thing is that it would take a long time, and cave generation and new mobs have to be created in a much more complicated environment than Terraria, 3D. Minecraft also makes sure everything has a level of complexity and use to it.
The only issue comparing one to the other is minecraft is a 3d game with way more effects while terraria's moods and atmospheres are on a background that then had forward effects. It is far more easy to do these kind of things. Honestly, i do not want both game to be competeing but rather two different experiences and ways of playing. Plus we will get more mobs next update with changes to the swamp biome. it is just a slow process, but in two years this game will be so different than now.
@@cryonical2766 Exploration is a valid use and even if they used pre-existing items, they could still have a purpose. I think of the igloo as a good example. A structure which shows how to cure villagers, it uses no new blocks but it still adds to the game in a clever and unique way. This minimizes the dev time spent in making a bunch of new mechanics while still adding variety and exploration value to the game. Not everything needs to have a big world altering impact and a bunch of little one-off structures would be perfect way to break up the repetiveness of exploration. We need a structures update, which changes up existing ones and adds new ones, also different variants like the bastions and villages have would go a long way.
@@_shadow_1 also make desert wells be useless if they do a structure update because desert wells don't deserve to be cool
I think they could've added that if it was wasn't for the pandemic. It already split the update in two parts so there was no way a new mob could've been added. Also terraria's is a 2D game so it's understandable why it is easier to add content in that game.
“I’ve been looking forward to this”

Caves truly have changed a lot.
Also, hearing the Cave 2 sound brought back many memories of me watching RejectedShotgun, since he used to have the sound as an intro for the first few episodes of his Haunted series.
Yeah RejectedShotgun used to be the king of minecraft horror. I rewatched his series recently and its still pretty good.

I wonder what that guy would call 1.18 caves, if he's calling those swiss cheese caves "crazy big".
Anyways great video!
Epic would be a great history teacher
I started playing Minecraft around 2012, I'm not saying this to flex, but I'm saying this to say this kinda touches alot of nostalgia for me. Minecraft has gone through tons of updates, and honestly even though I hate 1.17-1.18 (because it changes mining components that I don't like compared to 1.16-) I can still commend the team for their hard work over the years.
Back in 2013-2014 I obsessed over glass color updates and now we have entire new caves and tons of blocks.
I can't wait for another 10 years of updates have in store.
1.13 and 1.18 definitely are definitely some of the best updates ever.
I like how you added Cory into the video as an example.
I remember when I was a kid and I did not knew that abandoned mines were a thing, when I found one I was so scared...and I was on creative lol
My favorite British youtuber! Don't know why people think you're Australian XD
1:13 Nostalgia Flashback i remember a youtuber called TheMuteTroll that used to expose many Herobrine sightings and this was one of them i think the dude that made it was called slendedsteve or smth like that :D
"Did you know that cave sounds will play in any 3x3 space with a light level of 8?"
I did. As a map maker, it's very annoying when using world edit or voxel sniper, when you're admiring the terrain job adding small details and then hearing the close "NEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" noise, making you stop what you're doing, go into spectator mode, and find where the world edit hole is located at.
Best video you have ever done😅😀😀
7:01 ohh mobtalker. Chances maybe low for a video about this, but such as the prestige of this mod, I hope that you'll make one
On the topic of mineshafts being hard to navigate, I use the golden rule of mazes: If you just follow either the left or right wall the entire time (I do the right), eventually you'll get to the exit. It helps to explore mineshafts as thoroughly as possible, and other structures like woodland mansions too
deep dark cities might just be greatest addition to minecraft both lore wise and gameplay wise adding depth to lore and more challenging gameplay
Love the alpha music in the background
I like the "ALSO WTF!?" part when he got confused by an inappropriate Minecraft ad.
I love the updates Minecraft has been putting out just hope they can get caught up on the promised content!
Two minutes with after post pog
As someone who purchased minecraft 2 weeks after Beta 1.8 release (2 weeks away from greatness 😢) I was very, very confused because I Spawned in a swamp, settled in an extreme hills, and found a mineshaft in a cave right next to the mountain I settled in. One thing most YTers didn't show was the launcher and how it showed you the new features (new video idea?). I closed the game and read it and saw how much was added. It was shocking at first, seeing so much pre-1.8 gameplay that when I got it, I wasn't expecting it.

Minecraft should add a prairie biome that’s kind of like plains mixed with Mesa. It should have meerkats, thin trees with no leaves on them, tumble weeds, and new villages that are western themed.
