      @@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I loved the split shot as well - would you be able to add to/adjust your process so that the subject filming took up the same space in the frame? It feels like we didn’t get a great example of bokeh on the widest lenses since the 16mm looked absolutely incredible, but also looked like the subject was the largest in frame due to the focal length.

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад +2

      I needed to stand in the same place because I didn’t want where I was standing to affect the amount of light shining on me. But if I do a focal length / bokeh comparison will keep myself the same size in the frame. The 16 will still be the best because it’s the longest focal length that has a 1,4

    I love the sigma 16 mm F 1.4 lens, even the focus by wire seems to work better than most, but the thing that I hate about it is that I could never understand why Sigma thought it was a good idea to make the Focus ring the size of the entire lens. At least practically. When you're manually focusing, it is so easy to touch the lens and screw up your focus, I think this is the dumbest engineering that I have ever seen with regards to focus rings. :-) having said that, I use that lens all the time. It's an awesome tool.:-)

    Hey mark love your channel man I have learned so much from you and your little doughy, now I have passed that knowledge to my sony ZV! • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад

      There are plenty of megapixels for 4K. The stabilization mode is cropping in on the sensor, not the image. So you won’t see any quality loss.

    • @gigihanmandarin
      @gigihanmandarin 2 года назад

      Technically 4k equals to just 8.3MP. ZVE10 has 24MP so you are still getting 4k quality in your SD card despite the image is cropped in.

    • @gigihanmandarin
      @gigihanmandarin 2 года назад

      If you use Catalyst Browse in post, yes, you are cropping in FROM a 4k image hence the end product technically has less than 4k resolution but at around 10% crop I can't see any difference with my eye and my not-so-professional monitor.

    Which lens is better for low light for my zve10
    Sigma 56mm f1.4 APSC
    Or
    Sony 50mm f1.8 Full Frame
    Even Sigma f1.4 but Sony f1.8 is Full Frame
    And full frame is better for low light
    Yes zve10 is apsc but I'm still a little confused if a full frame lens is going to be better in low light
    Because sigma's f1.4 full frame equivalent is f2.8 or something
    But Sony 50mm is designed for full frame
    So I think it's maybe better in low light even on a apsc camera ?

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      Full frame lenses and APSC lenses act excatly the same on an apsc body. it’s only when you are comparing a frame camera that it makes a difference. To clear some things up for you:
      1.4 lens is better low light than an 1.8 regardless of full frame or apsc or any sensor size. the f number indicates how much light the lens lets in and that will never change. What is different is the field of view and depth of field (background blurriness)
      A sigma 56 mm 1.4 is the full frame equivalent of 84mm f2.1 ONLY in terms of field of view or depth of field the framing and blurriness of the background). BUT it still lets in a 1.4 of light.
      on an apsc body, the 50mm 1.8 will act as a 75 mm f2.7 full frame quivalent) but still lets in a 1.8 of light.
      so when someone says a sigma 56mm 1.4 is the full frame equivalent of roughly and 85mm f2, they mean if you looked at a picture from a Sigma 56mm 1.4, it would look the same as using a full frame camera with a full frame 85mm f2. But once again the f number for light doesn’t change. the 56 still lets in a 1.4 of light.

      @@-Hustle no difference in lowlight for the lens. A 1.4 full frame lens will give the same light as 1.4 apsc lens on the sensor. A full frame CAMERA is generally better in lowlight because of the big sensor. But a 1.4 on one lens is as bright as a 1.4 on another lens - full frame or apsc.

    How to fix zve10 flickering in low light

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      if you are in a PAL region make sure you're shooting PAL and not NTSC. Flicker is caused by the frequency of the electrical grid in the lights. You won't see it with studio lights

    Hi Mark I bought the Sony zv e10 for concert low light video because of the 4k what is the best lense for shooting from about 25 to 40 ft away? I bought the Sigma 16 mm for close er video it is amazing. I also have a cannon hg 10 video camcorder I was thinking of upgrading to a 4k version what is better for low light video in your opinion? and thanks

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis

      look at the sigma 30mm 1.4 and the 56mm 1.4 for further away. the zv-e10 with those sigma lenses will be much much better in lowlight than the canon camcorder.

    Hi, great video, I have a question. I want to do vlogs, and for me, image stabilization is very important, that's why right now I think the best lens for me is the Sony 10-18mm F4 for the OSS, do you think I'm taking the right decision, or what lens would you recommend me? Thank you very much.

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад +1

      The lens stabilization isn’t great with the 10-18. I wouldn’t base your decision on that. I think you would be better off with the 11mm and and small gimbal like the Crane M2S or using Catalyst Browse if you have a ZV-E10. if you check out my video on the 10-18 you will see the lens stabilization doesn’t do a lot. ruclips.net/video/63JLsLEtctY/видео.html

    Do you think professionals ever shoot in total darkness?
    I think there is a rule of thumb exist to never go over a certain ISO level where the camera produces unacceptable image. Then the lighting professionals come and do their job.

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад +2

      No - they would never shoot in total darkness. But the vloggers are not professionals. And that is who asks me questions. On a real set you need real lights. But it is always helpful to know what cameras can do. in certain documentaries- you simply can’t bring a light. In a war zone, hiding underground - sometimes you just have to rely on the camera

    • @gigihanmandarin
      @gigihanmandarin 2 года назад

      I am not a professional and I appreciate Mark's analysis (his editing software hung on him 50 times!) - just so we can know the limit of our cameras and lenses hence we will be able to know how operate within it optimally.

    • @antalgabor
      @antalgabor 2 года назад

      @@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Yep - with ZV-E10 my experience is ISO3200 or max ISO6400 gives optimal result, and the picture percieved by human eye in dark situations.

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад +1

      look at the 10-20 on the last few shots. I was standing in darkness. the camera was seeing more than the human eye could due to the artificial gain. The moonlight was just a way of saying I was standing in the dark with nothing but the moon in the sky. the monitor wasn’t close enough - look at the last shot on the 10-20 when I’m moved close to the screen - then you can see the monitor light kick in because I was a few inches from the screen.
