Corsair virtuoso, it's affordable (kind of) it is comfortable (I have a relatively small head) and it's sound and mic quality is amazing, it is just great all around.
Thanks for putting together the video; I have a question: have you compared the quality of the ASTRO A50 wireless vs. the A40 TR wired headsets? Primary usage would be for FPS and would like to discern footsteps without rupturing eardrums or suffering hearing loss from explosions and gunfire while doing so. The reason I ask is that I actually prefer wired over wireless and in the old days the older generation A40 was by far my favorite headset on the PS3. The build quality was far superior than any other I had used and other quality-sounding brands were made from so much plastic the gear would start breaking after just a few months of regular use. I remember using the A40s successfully for years. I game on a PS4 so none of the headsets that offer surround sound on PC only will work for me and I'm looking for something that will last a while (which due to build quality, seems to rule out both the Audeze Mobius and the brand new Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT products). Thanks.

I've had the Audeze Mobius for over 2 years now, for those considering these excellent headphones, be aware that I have had to repair these many times, with super glue and soda bicarbonate (this forms a almost concrete bond). I've repaired them around the shoulder of the earcup connection to headband on both sides as the plastic over time fatigues and breaks. I love the headphones so much though, you'll not be disappointed with the quality of sound.
Yep same with the Penrose, too fragile for 300$, mine lasted a few months only, i have a bunch of gaming headsets but my favorite is the JBL Quantum One, i have it paired with a Fiio E10K-TC and i actually prefer the sound of the JBL over the Penrose, this setup costed me about 250$ which is still 50$ less than the Penrose.

Just broke my arctis pro wiereless, slept on the damn thing :( , been good to mee, cause as Ive gotten older, my eyes are slower and shittier, but my ears are still wery good, so with a good headset, you still in shooting games, are able to work around a face to face combat, where its all about how fast you are at reaction time. -peace
Love your reviews, very solid and good work! One thing I have been missing though is "wire sound" which actually was a huge downside on the JBL Quantum One that I bought. The texture on the wire produces soo much noise on a hoodie and transplants that noise right into the headset. I love the rest of the Quantun One, but I am going to return it. Shame that the Quantum 800 can't be used while charging (hence worthless on 24h LAN)

Don't buy them bro, they are sooo painful after 1.5 hours of use, and I have a small head, the headband is just awful. You could go for Steelseries or the HyperX hesdsets which are pretty good
They are trash, sent mine back same day. I swear people who either have never owned a quality pair of headsets or first time buyers only praise the Virtuoso.

Loving the videos man. Do you find a big difference in surround sound capability between Mobius and Penrose X? I have the Penrose X and i find these sound crystal clear but the surround sound experience is not as good as the Astro A50, I'm using Dolby Atmos enabled for both. I'm now wondering if i should sell the Penrose X and get a set of gaming headphones with multiple drivers for "true surround". Any advice would be appreciated.
It’s not because it doesn’t have the same software as the mobius….but check out the jbl quantum 800 with its software!!! Half the price, wireless and just as good….did a review on all of them😎
I just ordered the HyperX Cloud II wired headphones after being recommended them a few times by people I game with. Hopefully they're decent. I have an older pair of Razer Krakens but after 4 years of abuse the earmuffs are falling apart. I was torn between getting another pair of Krakens or these ones. Luckily Amazon's return policy is amazing so if they're not up to snuff I'll return them and try something else. I like the Krakens because they're so loud but I want a bit more quality of sound, not just decibels. By the way, this is Xbox specific, but if you are looking for a way to hear footsteps better, turtle Beach makes an audio controller that plugs into the bottom of your Xbox controller. It has a button on it that when pressed increases the mid and high ranges of the audio, making footsteps and other subtle sounds much more noticeable. And it works with any headset.
For xbox I would go penrose x if you could afford them....but yes turtle beach for xbox has alot of 🔥 headsets to choose from....the stealth 700 gen 2's are great

Jbl quantum 800!!!! Especially for the money......if you wanna spend more or go wired check out the penrose and mobius......the quantum 800 sound is amazing and is my current go to with the penrose

All of these with great reviews elsewhere, at a affordable price. (I play on a PS5) Which one would you choose for the best overall package, but with a slight focus on footsteps in games like Apex Legends?

So my thoughts on having for 2 months now I love them I really do! ONLY down fall is battery last me about 8 1/2 hours of gaming that’s pretty much it and that’s straight gaming I usually can’t even play that long but some days I can just depends but overall sound quality I like them a lot better then the Astros a40s
I reviewed them a few weeks ago....some people love them....some people hate them.....I like them but in my opinion are outdated.....not to mention you only have 40mm drivers whereas with the penrose or cloud orbit s you have 100mm

I was personally debating between the Virtuoso, for the Mic, and the Hyper X Cloud 2, for it's robust features. The only thing that gives me pause are all the reviews saying the Virtuoso's sound quality is disappointing overall and the Hyper X Cloud 2's mic has aggressive voice suppression. They say it's fine while gaming, but music sounds bad on it (ironic given the name). How would you say they compare in terms of sound quality when playing videos games compared to listen to music?
Would I notice a difference on my Xbox Series X going to a PenroseX, coming from a HyperX Cloud Orbit S? Or are they basically the same thing? I feel like my headset was meant for a PC and I'm not getting great sound through the 3.5mm controller jack. I was wondering if the PenroseX would give me better audio threw the wireless USB dongle? Yes! The penrose x will sound much better with the wireless dongle ....the cloud orbit s is one of my top 3 headsets especially for competitive....sadly it needs to have that usb support along with the software to get the full functionality....which you can't do on Xbox

Amazing vids man! Bought the A50 Gen.4 PS4 edition 3 weeks ago, this thing is a beast! Absolutely worth the money. I have only one question: When my mic is on I can hear myself in a party chat. Is there a way to fix that?
Thanks Brotha! I haven't experienced that make sure you're not having the same mic output to another device like your pc......or update software in driver.....luckily with this model I haven't run into that problem😅

After using the MMX 300 2nd gen I can’t find anything that’s better. My MMX 300 are still in perfect condition but I’m always for upgrading to the next best thing. I’ve bought multiple headsets in the last year and just ended up returning them because the MMX 300 are just far and away better

Hello, Great video. I play competitive game but also enjoy single player games. I am having a trouble to choose a headset as there is also something about it. I am looking for great quality sound, not too bothered about wireless. It seems to point towards Audeze Mobius but I read some issue with it and the 3D. And price is quite high also. Correct the mobius and the cloud orbit s are my favorite wired headsets and are the same aside from the fact that the mobius has Bluetooth and the orbit s doesn't.....through the 3.5mm cable both aren't loud enough.....connect it to pc though and you have the most insane sound on a headset🤣
Still Rocking the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless. and have to say have not heard anything sound better. For PS5 you need HDMI Audio Extractor or update the GameDAC to Latest Firmware to get true Surround Support.

You can still use the a40s. I use the a40trs for my series x and they are the best for footsteps I've found

Loving the videos man. Do you find a big difference in surround sound capability between Mobius and Penrose X? I have the Penrose X and i find these sound crystal clear but the surround sound experience is not as good as the Astro A50, I'm using Dolby Atmos enabled for both. I'm now wondering if i should sell the Penrose X and get a set of gaming headphones with multiple drivers for "true surround". Any advice would be appreciated.
It’s not because it doesn’t have the same software as the mobius….but check out the jbl quantum 800 with its software!!! Half the price, wireless and just as good….did a review on all of them😎

I just ordered the HyperX Cloud II wired headphones after being recommended them a few times by people I game with. Hopefully they're decent. I have an older pair of Razer Krakens but after 4 years of abuse the earmuffs are falling apart. I was torn between getting another pair of Krakens or these ones. Luckily Amazon's return policy is amazing so if they're not up to snuff I'll return them and try something else. I like the Krakens because they're so loud but I want a bit more quality of sound, not just decibels.
By the way, this is Xbox specific, but if you are looking for a way to hear footsteps better, turtle Beach makes an audio controller that plugs into the bottom of your Xbox controller. It has a button on it that when pressed increases the mid and high ranges of the audio, making footsteps and other subtle sounds much more noticeable. And it works with any headset.
For xbox I would go penrose x if you could afford them....but yes turtle beach for xbox has alot of 🔥 headsets to choose from....the stealth 700 gen 2's are great

ONLY down fall is battery last me about 8 1/2 hours of gaming that’s pretty much it and that’s straight gaming I usually can’t even play that long but some days I can just depends but overall sound quality I like them a lot better then the Astros a40s

I reviewed them a few weeks ago....some people love them....some people hate them.....I like them but in my opinion are outdated.....not to mention you only have 40mm drivers whereas with the penrose or cloud orbit s you have 100mm

I was personally debating between the Virtuoso, for the Mic, and the Hyper X Cloud 2, for it's robust features. The only thing that gives me pause are all the reviews saying the Virtuoso's sound quality is disappointing overall and the Hyper X Cloud 2's mic has aggressive voice suppression. They say it's fine while gaming, but music sounds bad on it (ironic given the name). How would you say they compare in terms of sound quality when playing videos games compared to listen to music?

Yes! The penrose x will sound much better with the wireless dongle ....the cloud orbit s is one of my top 3 headsets especially for competitive....sadly it needs to have that usb support along with the software to get the full functionality....which you can't do on Xbox

After using the MMX 300 2nd gen I can’t find anything that’s better. My MMX 300 are still in perfect condition but I’m always for upgrading to the next best thing. I’ve bought multiple headsets in the last year and just ended up returning them because the MMX 300 are just far and away better

Correct the mobius and the cloud orbit s are my favorite wired headsets and are the same aside from the fact that the mobius has Bluetooth and the orbit s doesn't.....through the 3.5mm cable both aren't loud enough.....connect it to pc though and you have the most insane sound on a headset🤣

Still Rocking the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless. and have to say have not heard anything sound better. For PS5 you need HDMI Audio Extractor or update the GameDAC to Latest Firmware to get true Surround Support.
