Good effort on the video. However, it’s a 1.6 not a 1.5, they make a 420 not 410, you CAN option heated bucket seats and those are optional 13” apollo wheels on that car.
I had a Caterham a while back... I miss it terribly. Absolutely nothing like them.... The harnesses make a huge difference though, the faff is worth it, as your connection to the car is so much more intimate than with seatbelts, in which you move around too much when cornering hard. Which you do a lot in a Caterham!
Get another one 😉 Don't get me wrong, the harnesses are brilliant - they make the car feel so serious - but you've just adds a few minutes to a fuel stop! As for cornering hard... Agreed 😬
@@newmotoring It's a case of "WHEN" not "IF" for sure! And yeah, you're absolutely right, harnesses make driving an occasion too, which is all well and good until you just want to get somewhere (usually home!) fast, and you have to stop at the shop to buy milk. Then again, 10 meters down the road and the smile is plastered on your face and all is forgiven!!!
Comfy (ish) seats and a standard seatbelt? Stick with the 'S' then. Great review (other than some of the detail errors already mentioned). I've yet to see a Caterham reviewer without a great big grin all over their face :-)
I've got the Leather Seats (S Pack) in a k series 135 and they are as comfortable or more so than in The Mrs.Dacia or my Vauxhall Work Van. You may be glad of the harness at some point also. Don't be put off by anything people. If you have ever thought a 7 might be a good idea then drive one and confirm it. Buy it!
The exhaust changed sides because of the change from the K series to the sigma or duratec It wasn't a choice by Caterham , it was due to the different engine design
i believe its a 50/50 split on the self build, last time i spoke to CC, which is on a regular basis at the moment as I'm currently in the middle of a kit build

You need to check your facts. The exhaust changed sides, because the engine was different... More effort please.
I've got the leather seats in my 310R and they really do add to the comfort. Three hour trips are no problem.
