@@sammooresphoto I've had a few great road and track outings this year, but sadly a house move has meant its up for sale. Just taken delivery of an M2 Comp for daily/fun duties for the meantime!
Sam Moores initial impressions are good - looking forward to getting running in service out the way - welcome to a go in mine should you fine yourself in the Midlands
I'm at that stage where I'm looking at caterhams .had a 1600 sigma mazda 5 speed gearbox on a 2018 Morgan 4/4 . Looked at 620R 420R think a little to powerful for rd driving ...checked 310S but the 310R Seems better .but I'm. Undesided on 1600 or 2Lb Duratec .that's where I'm at .Thanks for vid great stuff.
Great review! My 310S is due in the new year (I've been waiting 6 months so far).... and then I just need to build it! Caterhams are the BEST and I cannot wait for mine to arrive :-D
@@sammooresphoto Around about 100 hours seems to be the average. I figure 2-3 months of weekends. In a way I don't want to rush it; try and enjoy the build and then love the car. That's the plan anyway ;-)
Can you please comment on how low the car actually is and how that impacts the drive-ability on UK roads? Also, Caterham offers a "Lowered floors" option for £ 495.00, do you think that is a good or bad option to have? Thanks.
Without driving the lowered option I can’t comment tbh. As tested the car was perfectly fine in all the scenarios I came across you just need to be careful with pot holes.
@@sammooresphoto Thanks; another question, please: How did you find driving the 310 on low gears/speed vs. driving it on high gears/speed? (Another reviewer was saying that the 420 model offers the best mix of low vs. high speed driveability & performance).
This went straight into my Top 5 of all time drives.. anyone else had a great experience in a Caterham?
I have a very similar car, spec and colour scheme, love it to pieces - 100% agree on the diff. Nitron dampers have also transformed the ride.
Oh awesome, taken it anywhere exciting?

oh great, how are you finding that? I'm waiting for a go in Mr Achilles' which hopefully won't get expensive..

You are a brilliant driver and you've some balls on you to drive like that in those conditions
haha, thanks. The Caterham makes everything so easy

always dreamed of driving this car on a long journey
I took the windscreen off mine the week i bought it and never refitted. Its like having 50% more power.
Nice fun car, are the wipers working though ? water stays in the same place, weird
its the style. designer was experimenting with the idea of trying to make unusually a car. it was fully done
Good to see you back Sam! That looked like a massive laugh!
Haha, thanks. It was so great

Great stuff, what sort of number of hours do they estimate to build?

Sounds great. Enjoy 👍🏻
Amazing driving in one of my dream cars, whats not to love!
Loved it
Great video, loving your podcast currently, keep it up

@@jayrusty2012 that is an interesting question I've not driven the 420 so can't compare but it seemed fine. Definitely didn't need any more power.
Looks too much fun, quality review mate

Same, man.
Yessss
My favorite car, I would daily it.
You’re more hardcore than I am...altho if I had a country route like this to work I think I would too
