Nice comparison between the two units Jeff. That might help someone that is thinking about purchasing either unit to make up their mind. Good job my friend!

Excellent job explaining both these different types of units and their uses! I got my first look at the Deeper pro from watching a couple videos from Greg Blanchard. Now when he used it was sometimes on the bank , but most times he used it when he did not bring any of his graphs and was going to fish light! He would keep it out of the water most of the time and only use us when he want to see the water levels structures underneath and see if any fish were around and then put it back into his kayak! I think both these products are excellent for the beginner angler just getting started and not ready to go to college to know how to read all these in detail graphs they have now! Greg has a nice discount for a bundle package on his RUclips channel tight lines take care and God bless!

What's up J?! Thank you for watching and commenting my friend. Greg Blanchard is a very talented fisherman for sure. I tried casting my deeper unit the first time using it on my kayak and hated it lol 😆 having it mounted worked best for me. The final straw that made me switch to Garmin was when the battery died in a tournament and I lost my phone to water damage in that same tournament.... I immediately switched to the Garmin. Then a couple of weeks ago I was with a friend on my Bass Raider and we got into a heavy rain and I had to try to find a way to keep another phone from getting ruined, that's when I said I'm done with this! Hahaha 🤣 I appreciate you watching and commenting!!!

What a fantastic breakdown, thank you for the information!
I bought a Deeper Pro years ago and hadn't used it in six years, but it charged and is working fine. I am with you, it is mostly useful for water depth and temperature. I also find it helpful to know if there are any fish in the area so I know whether it is worth a cast or two.
Hope you managed to get a couple good ones that day. Thanks again for the comparison!

@FishinPysician thank you so much! Unfortunately all I caught was an angry Bowfin (not my target) and I lost a bass on top water cause I didn't get a good hook set. I'm gonna go back tomorrow and try again 😂.

@@yakkittymack yeah it has been tough here on larger bodies of water so I have been doing more Wade fishing, picking on the brim and small bass

@@FishinPhysician I went out today and didn't pick on a single thing 😂 I tried using my depth finder to target some deeper water, I'm normally a shallow water guy, but came up empty.

"I don't know what this is but I intend to learn about it at some point"
Haha! Me too. I dove into the radar returns a little bit and it seems to me that if you have sufficient confidence, you are just supposed to puff up your chest and tell people those blobs are whatever you want them to be. If you are SUPER confident you can even identify the weight, length, and species of those blobs. If anyone questions your interpretations you are supposed to act offended and tell them how confident and experienced and knowledgeable you are. At least, that's the mentality of other youtubers and a couple people I've fished with. The rest of us just feel mystified with the intention of "learning at some point."

LMAO 😂 what a fantastic sense of humor! 😂 I'm really curious to know what it is I'm looking at....I even tried to use it today. I wasn't getting anything by throwing at structure, so I moved into about 10-15 feet of water and tried to throw towards the different "blobs" that would show up. hahaha....that didn't work either. I haven't caught a bass in like my last 4 or 5 outings. I've caught some pickerel and bowfin, but no bass. I'm kinda lost as to where they are. I've got a tournament in 2 weeks...hopefully I'll figure something out before then. Thank you for watching my friend!

Hi! I cant use external battery so does Deeper CHIRP+ 2 get the job done for ice fishing ? Or is there new better sonar whit internal battery ?

@@nikoleino1108 hello 👋 Deeper Chirp 2 works great for ice fishing. There are some others on the market that don't require an external battery, but Deeper is the best of that group. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Much appreciated 👍

@@Yantobagas-e3c they both do that very well. One doesn't have an advantage over the other with showing fish. The Garmin is better at showing the depth of the fish. I hope this helps.
