Hey brother thanks for sharing this sport is sometimes very rough to us. It seems to give us more emotional frustration as we continue to learn and grow! Are you planning on setting up a good sonar to help you find those bass? What are you looking forward to when the 2025 season starts? Wow when it rains it pours it's growing pains and rides right next to us till we either give in or pick ourselves up and continue to move forward! Look at Greg Blanchard I’ve been watching his amazing tournament events, but even he has disaster events and he’s been fishing these tournaments for 9 years! Your very cool character in the reaction of this event that shows maturity some anglers have emotional breakdown that keeps them from enjoying this awesome sport! Keep your head up brother your day will come and practice on the water throwing as many presentations as you can will help build your skillset to make you a more proficient angler! Let’s go tight lines take care and God bless!
Some days are tough like that. I was rooting for you this weekend. When it's slow you can always drag a worm and usually make a little something happen as the day goes on.
@@Eightmile_Drifter thanks man. I fished Boatyard Lake on day one and wish I would have gone back on day two. I would have liked to explore a little bit more. The water level at boatyard was up so I was surprised to see it low at Dead Lake. I never would have gone there had I known. I appreciate you watching. BTW, my Hybrid Hunter arrived in the mail today...a little bigger than I was anticipating. Can't wait to try it out.
Thanks again for the video, always enjoy them. Even though things didn’t go as planned for quantity of fish , I still sense your positive attitude. I have a KastKing Royale Legend 6’ medium power fast action I use quite often. Good luck in 2025!
@@davidheiser1566 thank you my friend. I'm hoping the Kastking grows on me as I use it more. I really wasn't expecting it to be much different since they are both in that $50 range, but I could feel the difference. I appreciate you watching and your always kind words!

Do you know what size T nut is needed to attach the arm to the kayak?
@jonmeyer6072 You don't need one, the flexible arm has it already attached. The folks at Deeper don't do a good job of explaining that in their description of the product. Just get the arm and you'll be good to go!
Jeff great video. I'm buying one. What brand mount are you using for the cell phone? I have the same track system and kayak you have.
@@jordanschmitt7913 thank you very much! I use a pop socket mount for my phone. Makes it easy for sure. One thing I would do before pulling the trigger, check out my comparison video between the Deeper Pro and the Garmin Striker 4. Both are good options for our kayaks, but I give the edge to the Garmin. I appreciate you watching and commenting!!!
Great video. Im totally new to boating fishing pond boats. I purchased a pond prowler but have my trolling motor on back of boat. What do i do to solve the wind problem with no place for rudder pn back? Put one in front? Sorry never I owned a boat.
@@lennyboy57 thank you so much! There are a couple of things that you can do. Weight distribution is important, so do what you can to put some weight in the front. Also, they make a rudder that clamps onto the shaft of the trolling motor. It's inexpensive and will help reduce spinning and skating. Just Google "trolling motor rudder" and you'll see several options. These little boats are a lot of fun, just gotta get them dialed in to fit your needs. Hope this helps and thanks again for watching!!!

Nice build.....question: why did you say you popped out the insert plate as normal before deploying the motor setup? Wouldn't you normally have pedal drive in but propped up until deeper water. Are saying you have a blank plate in until you're ready to use the trolling motor?
@@jdinoldsmar thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, I have a blank plate that I keep in at all times until I am ready to deploy my PDL or Motor. It's nice for keeping water out and to keep me from dropping anything into the water. A lot of people make them from thick plastic or cutting boards, I bought mine from Navarre Kayak for $75. Appreciate you! Tight lines my friend!!!

The only thing I would consider buying or replacing is the aluminum rudder replacement from Navarre, nothing else.
@@leo-js2tb I've considered the rudder but not sure if I'll do it. But I love all my other Navarre accessories, in fact, I'm about to order a couple more. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
I wouldn't trade my PDL 106 for anything currently available right now. I'm waiting for the AUTOBOAT Smart Head to be released so I can have a rear wireless trolling motor with spot lock and still keep my pedals.
@@Bass_Fishin_Jake my ideal kayak would have a motor on the back and my PDL unit, but putting a motor on the back of the 106 seems challenging because of the rudder placement. So, I modified mine to take a motor or a PDL but not both at the same time. Do you have a motor mounted on the back?
Berkley Shock rod? If so have you had any issues with the reel seat cracking on your Berkley Shock rod? I purchased both a MH and Heavy model, but unfortunately encountered problems with both. The clear plastic nut cracked while I was installing my reel on the MH rod. The reel seat on the Heavy rod cracked during a fight with a bass. I'm still searching for a budget rods!
@@Bass_Fishin_Jake Yes, I have had that happen about 2 months ago setting the hook on a fish. Very disappointed but I thought it was just a fluke until I researched and discovered it is a very common problem. I'd like to replace them but I too am struggling to find a budget rod and I need 6 to switch them all out. Not sure what I'm going to do?!?! I certainly don't want that to happen in a tournament. I'll let you know if I find a suitable replacement and maybe you can let me know if you find one. I appreciate you watching and commenting!!!
@@yakkittymackI purchased a 6'8" medium action Ozark Trail OTX rod from Walmart for $35. On the shelf at Walmart, the quality looked better than the Lew's and Abu rods available at the time. It's an IM7 blank rod. I'm not a fan of the cork grip compared to the EVA grips on my Shimano rods, but at a budget friendly price, I don't have to worry about a tree limb reaching out and stealing it!
@Bass_Fishin_Jake I think I've seen that rod, kind of a gray color if I'm not mistaking. I'm curious about the eyelets and braided line. I should run by Bass Pro and see what they have to offer in the $40-$50 range. I had a subscriber recommend Kastking rod that is also in that $50 range.

Great to see you trying newer baits. That's one bait I've never had much luck with for some reason. I have tried them stand alone and with trailers. That’s a pretty cool jig. I like the ewg hook concept. Jigs are a good bait for getting that bigger bite sometimes. Although the total number of bites will drop. That was a good bass in the beginning. Expect to catch at least one that size every trip if you keep that jig in your hand and get good with putting it in tight places.great video!

Sounds like a good game plan for next year. There are alot of great videos on seasonal patterns when fishing lakes. As far as tidal waters, I pretty much found everybody has their own opinions and it was very confusing because one bunch says this and others say the other. I found that making notes on my phone when I caught fish, helped me more. You can find tide charts online for your area but take in account where the tide it taken in relation to where you are fishing.
@@monzsterman thank you sir. That's an interesting thing you said ... I just assumed tide coming and going was the same for all locations at the same time. I'm very curious now about how and when those effects are felt depending on location. Thank you for making that comment. I appreciate you as always! 👍
@yakkittymack i hope i didn't confuse you with my comment. When you find the location of where your tide is taken you have to calculate where you fish in relation to that because the time frame is different, if that makes sense. Example I fish upstream 1.5 hours from where the tide times are taken so I have to add 1.5 hours to my location.
@@monzsterman no, you didn't confuse me, you opened my eyes to something I hadn't even considered. Makes perfect sense once you said it. Thank you my friend!
