Who would give this video thumbs down - your X-girlfriends? This is the best I've seen, elucidating those colorful screens which made no sense to me till now. Great job!
This guy should be getting paid by Garmin for providing a service they can't even begin to match. He knows his stuff and can relate in a positive way with Garmin owners. Not only that he is a wonderful spokesman for the company.
By far , the best explanation on how to interpret fish arches and sonar images I have ever come across . I understand this tool much better now. Sincere thanks for taking the time to create this video .
The way I figured it out was by tying on a LARGE swimbait and watching how it shows up on the fishfinder. This allowed me to see the "radius" of the finder... and gave me a better understanding of where I need to place by lures to hookup with a fish based on where it appears on the fish finder. This was an awesome explanation. This took less than 8 minutes but really explained what was going on and why... which makes my test make even more sense.
I watched this 11 months back (see comment below) and decided to come back for a refresh. I'm still amazed at the detail and clarity 1C1F put into this. These are truly excellent vids.
Becuz that would eliminate extra jobs provide by a need to be filled... manufacturers aren't cool, well-spoken, or personable... it's like a family doctor versus a surgeon lol... I know it requires extra leg work .. but that extra work makes it set in our brains better and provides more actual connections with human kind ..blahblahblah... long story shorter, nothing worth having is easy
Well thank you a ton man...you made my day...glad it was easy to understand...be sure to be on the look out as I have a few more of these types of videos planned.
Thank you thank you thank you, I’ve just bought my first fish Finder and your videos have helped so much!! You’re clear and concise, graphics are great for easily explaining all of the information you’ve put together for us, and you’ve made it very easy to understand, I’m Feeling a bit more educated now! Thank you!
Very well done. I've been around fish finders for the last 20 yrs and NEVER!! understood why they looked like an arch. now makes perfect sense.....again. GREAT JOB!!!
I am blown away! Your video is amazing and exactly what's needed in the damn manual. No matter. It's better you get the credit and monetization. Please keep up the good work. Cheers!
I've had the Garmin 4 Striker for quite some time now. Used it when I was able to hit the water and enjoyed it. Now, I understand it thanks to you. I can use its full potential, plus I just retired. You give an excellent presentation on this little but powerful device. Now, just maybe I can catch more than my wife. Thanks! Gotta get more to more of your videos.
Awesome info that actually changes the whole view of how I have ever used a sounder knowing that the blurry step before the clear screen is the actual real time over the structure or fish those seconds when casting and anchoring in position makes all the difference cheers great knowledge and info thank you safe journeys to you and all infinity
Dude this is a great tutorial. I completely understood the arches concept as soon as you gave the example of the shorter and longer lines and showed the fish moving into the cone. It all just clicked... thanks!
WOW you explain things really REALLY well while keeping everything to the point and simple to understand. If anyone is looking for a clear concise information about Garmin Striker 4, your videos are it.
Wow I was pleasantly surprised by this video. So simple and easy to understand. I watched about 6 other vids that just made things way more confusing. Your illustrations were clear and it reminded me of presentations in college. Thank you so much for posting this. It’s helped me out a lot
My grandfather is giving me his boat soon and he has a fish finder already in it but wanted to get the striker 4. I never knew how to read one since I’ve never had a boat . I always thought all the fish in the screen were the fish under the boat . I really needed this video
Awesome for you to stop by ....they are pretty tough to get the hang of at first, but so many of us spend tons of money on fancy fish finders and never even truly know what they are showing us.
We just picked this up and you were so very helpful! Not only did you provide the perfect amount of info, you even have links in the comments section on how to mount on a kayak and batteries. You’re the shit!!!
I have this Garmin and I'm a complete idiot on how to use it and how to interpret the data on the screen. This was the exact video I spent all winter looking for. Thanks.
Love the visual animation to explain what’s happening under the water with what’s on screen. Great video. Feel like I can actually use my Garmin to find and know where fish are.
This video is by far the clearest, easy to understand video. compared to all the other videos, with all the useless unwanted info. That left me still confused on how to understand the fish views. Thanks for a perfect video!! Only a clueless moron would give a high quality video like this a thumb down. Very well done. Keep up the good work, my freind. And thank you!
Best explanation bar none. Subscribed not only because of the great info, but the info:time ratio is damn near 1:1. Zero BS here so pull up a seat and learn!
Ive been slaying Erie walleyes for 30 years, NEVER once owned a sonar. I moved to northern Michigan to Burt Lake and didn't know the lake, so I bought this....NO CLUE WTF I was looking at.....THank you for this. Much appreciated.
Excellent graphics / video showing fish moving out of the cone and into 'history' That's a major PITA to make and I appreciate it. Now I see why the 'A' scope is important!!!!!!!! Subscribed.
GREAT VIDEO, never used a fish finder before, and love my Striker 4. This video tutorial obviously helps me even after all this time has passed by since you made it! Thanks so very much for taking the time and making it...
Great video. I wouldn't have understood my fish finder without your video. It was all confusing to me, as I got used to see the fish image, not just curved image.
I lead workshops for leaders and have learned a lot about adult learning principles. Your video was excellent and followed almost all those principles to make a great and memorable lesson. Thanks!
Thank you for these videos! Super helpful. I think I understand that if a fish enters the cone from ANY direction, it will show the same 2D image in the screen. So if my boat is stationary, and if a fish enters the cone, and makes a 90° turn directly under the transducer, it would paint the same image as if the fish swam straight through the cone. I wouldn’t then know which direction to cast but would know there is a fish near by that just left the cone width.
In general that would all be correct, some things could alter the results some as there are always other variables at play as well. However this would be a good basic understanding.
Yea Garmin should hire you just off of these videos alone. I had no clue what any of this meant and you've turned night into day! lol thank you so much. now I can make this purchase with way more confidence.
Can’t wait to get this for my dad. Thanks for helping me understand this gift better so I can help him set it up and explain it. I’ll definitely also have him watch this video.
Sure beats just chucking some bait in the water and hoping for the best!! It’s amazing to me how hi-tech fishing can be!! This was very interesting! I can tell you did a lot of research and planning for this video... you did a super good job explaining the tech!! I enjoyed watching ! Big thumbs up
Hey 1Cast 1Fish, can't tell you how excited we are to see such smart analysis! I especially loved you tackling the math problems (and later making fun of it). Thanks. but, you're killing me... Your explanation assumes the boat is moving? and at a consistent speed? Why not say that? And what happens if your boat is in one place, and a fish swims by? Arrrrghhh. Could you tell me what a fish looks like if you're parked and waiting for a fish to swim by? So confused, and grateful at the same time. All best. Very inspiring.
Man when the video started all I could think is 1Cast Weatherman lol Great information on what everything means with the finder I have a very cheap one for my kayak and never owned any others mine doesn't show it like normal fish finders just shows a picture of a fish where it thinks a fish is or a few fish or brush kinda information like that . Nice vid man .
No I do not, honestly if that is the depth I was fishing I would want a larger stronger unit than a Striker 4. I would be in the Echomap or GPSMap series.
Who would give this video thumbs down - your X-girlfriends? This is the best I've seen, elucidating those colorful screens which made no sense to me till now. Great job!

The swimbait idea is a awesome idea...glad you are out there learning your electronics....sure it will pay off
How did you do? Did you just drop it straight down or did you cast it away from your boat?
I watched this 11 months back (see comment below) and decided to come back for a refresh. I'm still amazed at the detail and clarity 1C1F put into this. These are truly excellent vids.

You explain the truth as Jesus educate there apostel..
Thank you very much :)
Do you have a video made for fishing in 600 to 800 feed deep saltwater ?
No I do not, honestly if that is the depth I was fishing I would want a larger stronger unit than a Striker 4. I would be in the Echomap or GPSMap series.
@1Cast1Fish as I don't live in the US its you that I can ask for such a defails as you did make this video you can also know more
Excellent video thanks for the info I couldn’t make heads or tails of these arches thanks again
Glad I could help!
Fancy stuff! Fishing has gotten so technological since I last went as a teenager! ;)
The tech is absolutely crazy for sure, its amazing what is available...some of these fancy sonar units can cost $3,000 or more...it's nuts.
Dude all your videos are so good. Thanks!!!
I appreciate that!
