@@sidewaysrain7609 If that's true, I guess you think: If you need a boat to catch fish, you're at a 4th grade level??? If you need a vehicle to travel, you're at a 3rd grade level??? Can you see how none of this is realistic?
Most videos are watching people catch fish. Interesting, but doesn’t teach me anything. Your videos are always full of helpful information that makes me better. Gifted teacher. Thanks for all the time you put into them.
I am a person who often likes to completely understand things but this isn't the time for that. Your "over simplification" is exactly what I need right now. I need to understand all the basics before trying to understand all the deeper stuff. Thanks so much.
As a LONG time angler I wanted to say thank you SO much for these videos! I never really used fish finders as I would almost always sight fish structure. Your explanations are invaluable!
This has helped a ton. I know a lot of people with fish finders, but they don't normally find fish and don't know how they work. I am looking forward to more of your content.
I live in the UK, I go sea fishing on my kayak, I've had it 2 years, its fitted with a Lawrence fish finder, that is the best down to earth explanation I have seen in the two years I've owned it, thank you so much, tight lines kidda, be lucky 😉
Man, there is no other channel anywhere that I know of like this one (especially for anglers looking for educational content). Jonny should have way more subscribers then it shows... this should be the number one fishing channel.
I think if someone has one,and kinda has the jist of it down, this video will make perfect sense and won't be confusing. Thanks man. Saved me a bunch of circling
I would like to tell you that this video was very well made. I bought a fishfinder not long ago for the first time and was very intimidated when I tried to use it until I saw this video. Now I fish with great confidence using it. The way you broke the video down made it very easy to follow along. I've watched a handful of other videos that you've put out and they are equally awesome. Thank you for all the content and keep up the good work.👍
Great explanation, may I add when the boat is not moving, all info seen on the screen is a recorded history of whats directly under the transducer. For those that dont know, the far left of the screen is the oldest histroy. Thanks again for you explanation. Enjoyed the videos.
You do an awesome job of explaining a complicated subject. I flew F-16 is USAF and interpreting a radar image is not intuitive...whether air-to-air or air-to-ground and SAR. Obviously, some unique characteristics for sonar on a boat that make it slightly different in some aspects, so I definitely appreciate your explanation!
Thanks for this! I just bought a fish finder, installed it on my kayak, and took it out for the first time...then quickly realized that I had no idea what I was looking at.
I AGREE WITH THE COMMENT IMMEDIATELY BEFORE MINE. YOU HAVE A GREAT WAY OF SIMPLIFYING WHAT MANY OTHERS HAVE TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO ME. I JUST WANT TO CONFIRM ONE OBSERVATION. WHEN YOU DISCUSS "DISTANCE FROM BOAT" IN THIS VIDEO, IN ALL REALITY THAT DOESN'T MATTER. IF YOUR CRUISING AROUND MARKING COVER AND FISH THEN COMING BACK IT DOESN'T MATTER CORRECT?
Great explanation. I have a neighbor who has a nice boat and just spent a month's salary on a new 'fish finder'. He can't figure out anything except water temperature and depth because he refuses to read the instructions.
Thank You! I am new at this, and was not connecting the dots of understanding. But this connected the dots for me! Well done, and "Again Thank You". Captain Carpman
Another great tutorial! You have answered so many questions I've had in each one of them. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Subbed and liked to help support you.
Great information explained very well. I enjoy watching your channel because you have relevant topics to us that are trying to improve our skills. Best free channel on Bass fishing in my opinion.
Subscribed last night. Really dig the videos. This is definitely how tip videos should be. In depth but yet simply explained. Lots of videos to catch up on! Haha
I’ve been fishing for a while but I finally started using a fishfinder and man I swear it’s kinda hard lol. I’ve been watching your videos though so thank you
Such a great job explaining the most important yet overlooked part about reading a fish finder. Where in the water is the stuff I am looking at on my screen? Thank you!
Man your videos are awesome dude. I understand electronics 100 % but I like you explanations so much I watch them anyways. I send them to friends that don’t understand. We will be fishing and they stat asking questions about the electronics and I literally just say I’ll send you some videos to explain 😂 really 👍🏼🇺🇸
Man ur awsome u help so many people I have watched so many videos and ur so easy to under stand and u pin point stuff and easy to under stand ur stuff and I wanted to say thank u so much u have helped me so much ur friend david gibson stay safe and good fishing to u .
Great way of dumbing it down enough for me! I think what's really helpful is you stay focused and don't go off on a tangent. How fast are you able to go before your image is no longer reliable... be it from distortion, transom bubbles, prop wash, etc.? Thanks!
Phenomenal Information. Thanks… My fishery consist mostly of soft bottomed (mud) canals with bunches on lay downs. The average canal is no more than 8 feet deep. The canal widths are around 75-100 ft wide. Will side imaging (transducer mounted to trolling water) work well? I have never seen one in action or used one.
Thank you for the education video! At 2:31, you explained that where the black area (water) meets the yellow area is the bottom of the lake. Could you explain the rest of the yellow area beneath the bottom line? I cannot find any resources that explain that portion of the graph. Thank you.
Just something interesting I thought I'd point out as an old radar tech. ( Ra) in radar stands for RAdio. (SO) in sonar is for SOund. They work in a very similar manner.
True genius is the ability to explain anything at a fifth grade level.....thank you.
You nailed it.
If you need a fish finder to catch fish you are at a 5th grade level!
Thank you sidewinder, just entered fourth grade so I’m ahead of schedule!

He explained it so a marine infantryman could understand it...
If you're upgrading from your Pong or Pac Man fish finder like me, this is a great intro to today's fish finders. Much appreciated!

great graphics, you set the standard! no one else is close when it comes to teaching and using visual aids! Well done (as usual) Jonny!!

I think if someone has one,and kinda has the jist of it down, this video will make perfect sense and won't be confusing. Thanks man. Saved me a bunch of circling
Finally someone made a video explaining this clearly, extremely helpful
Very good tutorial! Clears allot of things up.

This video should have 1.3M likes at this point "come on people" this is good information!

Very didactic! So easy to understand all these concepts. Thanks for taking the time to make it so clear! Cheers.
Great Video! Explanations are very clear which results in better reading and trusting the Fish Finder.
Nicely done. Thank you ! Not sure I will find anyone else giving better explanation.
