Elvis Presley made television and entertainment history with his Elvis, Aloha from Hawaii concert, performed at the Honolulu International Center Arena on January 14, 1973. It was beamed live via Globecam Satellite to various countries, on a delayed basis to approximately thirty European countries and it first aired in America that April 4th on NBC in edited form. The American broadcast version included four "insert" songs that were shot just after the concert. In all, the concert was seen in over forty countries by close to 1.5 billion people, a global ratings smash. Never before had one performer held the world's attention in such a way. Aloha from Hawaii presents Elvis Presley at the pinnacle of his superstardom, giving one of the most outstanding concert performances of his career.

I was driving truck when the news came across the radio that Elvis has passed away, i was in Pennsylvania, had left Florida the day before, my oldest son was born a few days latter, i remember going through the mountains shifting gears listening the the Greatest singer Ever to live in this century . E.A Presley. He was the Best.

There’s just something about watching Elvis and his band perform live. There is such a connection between him and the audience and the sincerity in every note he delivers. I’m still captivated by him!

Amen sir! God broke the mold when he made Elvis. And I don't care what people say how he was physically during his later year's. Still, no one, and I mean no one, has EVER accomplished what he had done. And still there was no one who could sing or accomplish what he did.
He was always scared that no one would remember him when he was gone. Yet, the man gave us soo much, and all I wish I could do is to give him a huge hug and to tell him that we all love him and how fortunate and proud I feel that my mom and dad spent the night on Baltimore street to be able to buy us
tickets to see him in concert at the Baltimore Civic Center.
I was only 9 yrs old at the time and my parents introduced his music to me when I was only 5 yrs old.
And the year after he died they took us to Graceland before they opened it up to the public. I fainted in his driveway so daddy ran up to Uncle Festus to ask him if he could soak a rag into his kidney shaped pool. And they said yes. So he ran back and wetted down my face. And I swore I would NEVER wash my face again. LMAO. Which, of course, never happened. LOL
When I tell younger folks those stories, either they don't believe them, or they get so excited. And I think back of how lucky I was, Bruce Springsteen wasn't allowed in and was turned away at the door. But, I guess they saw this young child, at 9 years old, who was sick and needed help. Plus, my daddy could talk anybody into anything. LOL

I'm 76, soon to be 77, and grew up with Elvis Presley's music. Regrettably, I never got to see a live performance. But in 1976, I got to walk through his home, Graceland. It was an incredibly humbling experience to see his baby grand piano in his living room, knowing that it was the piano that he practiced some of his most famous songs on. You could almost visualize Elvis sitting on that piano bench. We also were able to walk past Elvis's grave and the graves of his mother and father...his mother buried on one side of him, his father on the other side. It was a very powerful, poignant moment for all of us, and the tears readily flowed. 😢
He didn't die until 1977.

Saw Elvis at age 11, last saw him was 1972. Still love his music, especially his Gospel.. Now 77 and still loving it. How Great THOU Art, & American Trilogy, Amazing Grace & In the Garden are my favorites. Elvis would be 88 and still going strong if alive & well.
