Elvis Presley made television and entertainment history with his Elvis, Aloha from Hawaii concert, performed at the Honolulu International Center Arena on January 14, 1973. It was beamed live via Globecam Satellite to various countries, on a delayed basis to approximately thirty European countries and it first aired in America that April 4th on NBC in edited form. The American broadcast version included four "insert" songs that were shot just after the concert. In all, the concert was seen in over forty countries by close to 1.5 billion people, a global ratings smash. Never before had one performer held the world's attention in such a way. Aloha from Hawaii presents Elvis Presley at the pinnacle of his superstardom, giving one of the most outstanding concert performances of his career.

I am a ballet dancer in my thirties from Spain. I listen to Elvis since my childhood, my mother was not a particular fan and neither was my grandmother. I can only say that his voice, his eyes, movements…captivates me. As an artist I know that people can have a talent, even more than one of course, but these are not always linked to this huge personal magic... Elvis was truly a masterpiece, a true delight in its essence, beyond the physique, beyond the appearance, his charm and magnetism is timeless, it will cross the time for generations.

I was in the hospital for a neck surgery that was so painful that I reached for my phone and searched RUclips for gospel music to help me cope and Elvis came up. My sister at 45 passed away about 14 years ago and as long as was listening to Elvis for some reason or another this song came on and l shared it with my youngest sister and she just lost it half way through….
I remember that they were giving away free tickets for his Live Hawaii Concert and my mom wrote in for 2 tickets. Unbelievably she got them in the mail. So I went to Elvis’ concert with my mom. It was great. At that time I was 23 years old. Lots of memories.😊

I appreciate many kinds of good music, I also know all the songs of Johnny Cash and June Carter (Great) and other great artists. However, Elvis remains the greatest musician and entertainer of all time, but in all his songs, all the power of his soul comes out. One could also say that he gave his whole heart to his listeners. This way is definitely unique and I think it will remain so.

I love how it's evident that he just enjoyed how the audience reacted when he twisted words and notes in certain ways and just hammed it up with his players. It's so easy to get lost in the beauty and then his wit is evidenced during the middle of the song with that side glance and smile to his backup folks, lol. As he told Donny, Elvis the showman, was so different from Elvis the man.
I have read most of the comments,it is so nice to read all the great things you have said about Elvis. I have been a fan 65 years and have seen him go through a lot of changes. He changed but also stayed the same ,He was a big part of my childhood, my sister and I had a horrible childhood and his music was our refuge. He helped get us through a lot of lonely ugly nights,That is why l think it is wonderful that so many people love his music. I was at this concert in one of those bleachers. The tickets were sold through the mail and you paid what you could afford, all money being donated by Elvis. The song was written by Kuiokalani (Kui) Lee who wrote it when he was dying of cancer at the age of 36. Don Ho also made a lovely rendition of this heart felt song.
I went to Honolulu this past Spring. Being able to see where he performed this concert as well as seeing his statue in front of the building was very special

My brother passed on August 16th 2021. He was only 44 years old. He suffered with cancer. He is in very good company. I wish I remembered this song I would have had it played in the church. Miss him so much.

If you read the official autopsy report about all his physical problems he suffered from, it’s a wonder he was able to perform at all.
