  • Hey, fellow BFS Addicts! I'm thrilled to share some breaking news about the latest addition to the Kistler Hunt Bait Finesse Series - the BFS 2X Rod! As the designer of this incredible fishing rod, I'm stoked to unveil a rod that caters specifically to power BFS enthusiasts like myself.
    If you've been following my channel, you know the journey from the prototype 2X Rod to the 3X and 4X models. Now, the 2X is officially in production and ready to take your bait finesse game to the next level.
    👉 Designed for Power BFS:
    The Kistler Hunt BFS 2X Rod is tailored for those who love targeting big largemouth and smallmouth bass. With a power range from 5 to 15 grams, it's perfect for throwing small versions of traditional baits, making it an ideal choice for anglers like me who enjoy a bit more heft in their BFS arsenal.
    🎣 Versatility in Action:
    Whether you're tossing quarter-ounce jigs or experimenting with various baits in the 1/8 ounce to 3/8 of an ounce range, the BFS 2X handles it like a champ. This rod is a game-changer for those who crave versatility without compromising finesse.
    🚀 Be the First to Experience It:
    I'm genuinely excited about the performance of the BFS 2X, and I want you to be among the first to experience it! You can check out the rod and make it yours through my affiliate link below. I would have loved to check one of these rods out, but the overall cost including shipping to Australia is putting this rod in a category with the highest spec JDM rods.

      Yeah. the shipping to the Pacific region is a killer these days.

    Hey someone commented on my kistler rod video asking if the reel nut is plastic or metal and looking at it i couldn't tell. Do you happen to know?

    2X prototype grip length on the 4X would be the dream rod for me.

    • @AaronHuntFishing
      @AaronHuntFishing  7 месяцев назад

      Something we'll consider. We have discussed a shorter grip on the lighter rods. It felt out of balance and put excess strain on the wrist fighting larger fish on the longer, stronger rods. and there's always the custom route.

    Looks like a great rod! I’m currently using my UL rod 1/16-3/16oz lure rating with a 4-6lb line test weight rating. It’s a great sweet spot but I find myself wanting a heavy setup at times. Maybe I need a power bfs. Maybe a light action rod? What do you recommend?

    • @AaronHuntFishing
      @AaronHuntFishing  7 месяцев назад +1

      Light or even ML in some companies. I used the Shimano Expride ML BFS for a while. I rant he Obsession mojo Bass last year - lacked sensitivity, but was good for moving baits. I've got this Handing Miracle Bass in Light on the way as well. amzn.to/3HDCPGU
      if it's nice I might grab a ML too. I even run a Kistler Helium ML.
      What most of the fast rods in the L/ML are missing is the softness for light lines - which helps keep fish pinned and prevent losing fish when the fish makes a strong run or jumps - because the rod acts as a shock absorber of sorts. I find it also allows a larger range of lures to be thrown effectively.
      That action and bend but retaining backbone is what sets the Hunt BFS rods apart. They truly do not fit the standards of traditional rod action. But they are not fast at all. But almost everybody makes a fast or extra-fast rod these days. And just because they are fast doesn't necessarily mean they are sensitive.
      I feel like my Hunt rods kind of fish like as great glass rod but have all the benefits of carbon. I don't even really look at glass rods any more unless they're close to 5' and might be good for tight quarters.

      Not a fly fisherman I see. A nice fly rod can easily be triple that cost. From that perspective, $349 is a bargain.

      @@overbuiltlimited not a fly rod.

    • @overbuiltlimited
      @overbuiltlimited 7 месяцев назад

      @@hskk829 Never said it was. The larger point was that it is neat that the cost of entry of a high end BFS setup is much cheaper than a high end fly set up. If you want to use the cheap stuff go ahead, but I've found through years of different hobbies and interests that many times it's more economical in the long run to just go for the good stuff right off since I tend to end up there anyway.

    This is what GLoomis failed to deliver. LOL But 350 for a rod with alconite cheap fuji rings is a no no for me. They could have gone for something more decent at that price.

      Kistler does ship world wide. But being 1-piece rods, the shipping is sometimes higher than we'd like.

      @@AaronHuntFishingeverything is world wide These days lol. I hear from your standpoint. But if they stayed at that 220-230 range I bet you’d sell more. Shame you should tell them

    • @AaronHuntFishing
      @AaronHuntFishing  7 месяцев назад

      @@Fishingmissions827 Lower the price on most anything and you'll probably sell more. But # of units sold isn't the final factor: It's making enough profit to stay in business. Megabass and Gan Craft would sell more lures at lower prices too. But just like Kistler, a lot of their stuff is hard to get consistently at current prices because demand out-strips supply. Hand-made rods can only be built so fast. I'm kind of amazed how much the Kistler team cranks out the way it is! There's a reason so many Kistler guys have been fishing them for 10-20 years...

      Old 18 makes BFS rods for just a little less with high modulus carbon blanks and titanium guides with zirconium inserts. they're not SiC but zirconium handles braid well. 🤷

    Still says sold out. How’d you think this would handle 1/4-ounce mini-max chatterbait and trailer? Congrats on the entire line! Just wish price was a bit closer to Cashion ML bfs, which I think has a comparable lure range? That’s a big price delta to swallow.

    • @AaronHuntFishing
      @AaronHuntFishing  7 месяцев назад

      It should handle that just fine. Probably right in the middle of the range. I throw a lot of wacky rigs, spinner baits, and cranks on it. I get it - there's a lot of nice gear I wish was less expensive as well. Appreciate the congrats. Still seems like a dream to me.

    • @xDx0xUxGx
      @xDx0xUxGx 7 месяцев назад +2

      Just my opinion. Lure weight ratings can be a bit deceiving. You also have to look at the hook. The Min Max may only be 1/4oz, but they have the same gauge hook as the Jackhammer. Bfs rods may be able to handle throwing 1/4oz + trailer, but I don't think they have enough power to set the hook. For example I throw them on a Megabass Levante Flatside Special with 14lb fluorocarbon.
