Kistler Kyrios - Affordable Fast Action Power BFS

- Hey everyone, Aaron Hunt here! In today's video, I'm testing out the new Kistler Kyrios rod. It's the dog days of summer, and despite the drought conditions and low water levels, I'm hitting one of my favorite creeks to see what we can catch.
The Kistler Kyrios is a budget-friendly, fast action rod that fits perfectly into the power BFS category. I'm pairing it with the Daiwa Salamandura Air TW reel and starting off with the Whopper Plopper 60. On my second cast, I hook a smallmouth bass, and it only gets better from there!
Throughout the video, I switch to different lures, including a Ned rig and the Megabass Karashi, to test the versatility and performance of the Kistler Kyrios. From smallmouth bass to rock bass, this rod proves to be a fantastic choice for both topwater and subsurface fishing.
If you're looking for an affordable power BFS rod that doesn't compromise on performance, the Kistler Kyrios might be your new go-to. Be sure to watch the full video to see this rod in action and subscribe for more creek fishing adventures and gear reviews.

Awesome looking rod! That white really pops on the video. Nice catches as well!
Thanks Dr. Pickle! White rods are awesome for viewers. :)
One of my favorite ponds this summer was very shallow water level, but after Storm Debbie came through, it rose a good 4 - 6 feet which is pretty crazy considering it was overnight. The rapid shift of water composition leads me to believe all the big bass died, and all that's left are the dinks. I fish this pond every day and I get disappointed every trip. All that works is BFS. it was a hard switch from my typical power baits but I learned to enjoy casting these tiny lures.
Sorry to hear about the pond - maybe the big ones are still just off and they'll pick up in Spetember as the fall feeding starts.
@@AaronHuntFishing Yeah nevermind what I said, yesterday morning I was fishing the jig and that huge one bit, my knot broke off though lol. I saw him still fighting after the fact and he jumped, good ol 5 - 6 pounder is still alive and kicking.
Nice video as always, thanks for posting. I'm curious as to what State you are fishing in, nothing specific just a general idea if possible?
Pennsylvania in this video - and most of the time.
not bad, want to see drone video
First commenter. Great video 😊
Yay! Thank you! 😎
Great video beautiful little creek great setup and fishing
Thanks Ray. Hope the summer is going well for you.
@@AaronHuntFishing it's been ok just can't get to fish much
have you try the karashi for trout fishing? it actually a very good bait for trout fishing
I haven't but I'll keep that in mind. Appreciate the tip.
Nice video! Some good action on a nice little creek! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks - much appreciated.
A light version would be good, not that many light fast ootions out there
I'm not sure what the plan is so far with these, but I was very happy with the initial trip. Three versions so far, with medium being the lightest. I'm sure it's the three most common power rods Kistler sells.
What lb line braid are you using for that setup?
Just my normal 8#. i think every reel has 8# Siglon ADV on it this year. :)
Nice video Aaron! I haven't tried the Kyrios yet but I'm going to soon! We've found using EWG weedless Ned heads help us from hanging so much in the current, I use the weedless standup head and I pour some round heads as well. I might lose one or 2 because of the skin hooked barb but not many. Just something you might want to try. Also, that creek or small river looks so much like one we have near me, it has smallmouth like you were catching and loaded with Rock Bass by the hundreds. We float it a couple times a year with light tackle and have a blast!
I was using EWG's last year. Didn;t love the ones I had. But need to find some sort of offset ned again for sure.
I read specs. 1/8 to1/2oz.... have you tried down to 1/16oz? I've got alot of eurotackle 1/16oz baits and then I'm a ned rig nerd. Super intrested at that price but it's gotta be able to go lower than 1/8. Had a great looking bend on those fish and that white is pretty awesome would match everything. Awesome video!
Haven't done that yet - just got it in and took the first trip out for this video. I'll try to do that this month.
Send one my way for review. I'll give it a go!
I'm sure you would! Appreciate the support.
