Florida dentist Charlie Adelson is accused of hiring several hitmen to kill his former brother-in-law, Dan Markel, outside his Tallahassee home in 2014. Markel was a law professor at Florida State University and was shot in the head in his own driveway. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber reveals seven shocking details from his trial that allegedly connect Adelson to the crime.

What is sad and heartbreaking, is that the kids are being brainwashed against their dad and his family. This evil family already changed the kids names to Adelson. It's frightening and terrifying to know that the kids are brought up by these monsters.

When you're the only parent left, it's appropriate to change your children's last name to your maiden name. When my ex was gone, I did the same thing, to provide continuity within our family structure and so my children weren't constantly reminded of a terrible event. That doesn't make her a criminal.
Katherine was offered immunity, turned it down, and is now serving life in prison. These people aren't bright.
Right. Better to have one parent out of jail than both.
Presumably she thought she would be found not guilty.
And then testifies against Charlie and tell the whole truth of her full involvement all while waiting on her appeal to be heard, not bright at all.

@@carolynemerson6576 I feel terrible for those boys. This is the thing that angers me most about these cases, when innocent children are drug into the mess by no fault of their own.
I've seen nothing here that shows Dan was murdered at the hands of this family. Charlie has no history of violence, no history of animosity towards his brother-in -law, no extreme closeness or loyalty to his sister, no over involvement in his sister's life, no passion for murder. Everything he's testified to is plausible.
IMHO Wendi is unlikely to be convicted of anything, regardless of what she knew or approved of. Even is she's "love impaired" so to speak, they still have her.
How could anyone consider murdering their boys' dad? Sick beyond words.

So, I'm always confused about this part... she got the initial payment (which they split 3 ways between Katie, Rivera and Garcia) then how much did he pay after that with checks from the Institute and how long did that last?
@@sflo4538 , From what I heard at the trial so far, they gave her two "paychecks" per month, each of which was for around $480 or something like that. They gave some of those checks to her in what I would call bundles, where they gave her multiple at the same time with sequential check numbers. Aside from that, I think Charlie was helping her with things like car repairs. I don't know how much she received in total.

I think for Wendi especially but the rest too they thought people would never think a rich, successful family would know people like hit men let alone order a hit. Wendi’s head tilt and denial seems more like a Sorority girl wondering how she got busted for underage drinking. She won’t even say her Ex Husband’s name. Mom and Charlie clearly drag her along because they think she can’t get along without them. Poor Donna arranged the marriage and didn’t like her choice and now is afraid Wendi will remarry another man who stands up to her. That head tilt and constantly looks in a state of confusion from the most simple questions. The lady is highly educated, who is she fooling??? I find it very hard to believe that Wendi didn't tell Charlie to hire someone. Despite being a successful dentist, Charlie seemed like the trashier and more sleezeball than the rest of the family (according to their eyes). They'd probably rather just have Charlie do the time, and say it's foe the benefit of the kids.
@@beewalk34 Chucky ain't all that successful - he has been up in front of the FL board of dentistry a number of times for malpractice type stuff.
He did not work full time at the Adelson institute because his father did not trust him to subtle and demanding cosmetic dental work (that's how I read it ) . So he was slumming it doing locum work all over town.
However he was pretty rich by average US standards.

The purpose of the paychecks from the Adelson Institute was solely so her children would be eligible for Florida Medicaid. I.e., Medicaid fraud. That was a favor Charlie did for her. (Her payment for her role in the murder was cash and separate from her paychecks from the dentistry practice for doing no work there.)
No Jury is going to believe his defence.
I think Wendi Adelson is also involved. Hard to believe she did not know what was going on. Her brother and mother were talking and coordinating before and after the murder. Wendi had the most to gain and most motive to have this man murdered. She wanted to have her kids in south florida with her, her ex wanted the in tallhassee with him, forcing her back to tallahassee, which a judge approved. She must have known his routine, since she was in tallahassee passing the children back and forth between her ex. The hitman followed his routine for 2 days until they saw an opportunity. One of Wendi's emails sounds like she knew right away after the murder what was going on. I hope to place her and her mother in jail too. How could you kill someone over a custody battle regarding location???

Wendi told a boyfriend just before murder what the plans were, then broke up with him, and then asked his plans on the friday morning of murder. Wendi then suggested to a girlfriend to report the boyfriend as a suspect after the murder. A setup by wendi and family

It's also interesting that when Sigfredo called Katie afterwards to say it was done, she said, "I know". How could she have known? Because Wendi was hanging out in the neighborhood to make sure it was done. So Katie and Wendi were in contact on that day but I don't think that has been proven yet.
It’s tricky because the call from Sigfredo went to Katie at 12:30. Wendi didn’t get to the scene until about 12:45. (Maybe Katie only meant, I know you wouldn’t be calling me otherwise?)

I think her brother and their mother came up with the idea, and it didn't take them long to get Wendy on board as well. We'll probably never know the full story, but I hope they have enough evidence to lock up all involved for good.

Thanks for this video. I just watched the hour of cross examination on Charlie by the prosecution and had no idea about any details of the case. This was the perfect video to brush up.

After 3 or 4 years in a Florida prison on a life sentence, and the parents get tired of paying lawyers to pursue his appeals, Charlie will get fed up with his sister and parents living their best lives in South Beach .... and he will rat them all out.

I noticed today that Raushbum asked a bunch of questions to all the witnesses that they were like ‘what?’ Then he said let’s go on,,he was full of inconsequential questions today. Many “give me a minute judge” sidebars, breaks, terrible day. I just cannot see how the Adelsons cannot have set it up, truly why would Segfredo & Rivera travel 7-8 hrs to kill a man they don’t know, Katie has no money, they wouldn’t get paid for awhile IF they did at all, Donna signed all the checks & the reg pay was only 1k a month, the most she got was about 43k that year, SERIOUSLY doubt Segfredo & Rivera would kill for a few thousand, Rivera didn’t even want to do it. So of course it was a paid hit, by the ones that wanted their way & had millions.
It drove me up the dang wall...none of his questions, other than I believe one, were actual questions. They were statements with a ? At the end. It was obvious that he was pushing a narrative, and I don't believe that went over the jury's head. Why is he having to tell them everything they should already know, and this, testifying to?
According to statements , and records , Katie Magbanua never worked at the Adelsons practice. She was Charlie's girlfriend , and he dumped her as soon as the murder was carried out.

I have not ever seen a prosecutor with her insight, knowledge and determination to let ,"We the People" know what exactly what really happened to this father for just wanting to be a REAL father for his precious children !😢

What I don’t understand is…if Wendi knew the hit was going down…why did she bring up Charlie and that “tasteless” joke of buying the TV in front of the police questioning her? Why bring immediate attention to Charlie from the get go?

Deflection
She’s an attorney. She had to know truth would come to light. She wanted to control the narrative so she gave them something to go on.
And she gave them a scapegoat. That lady didn’t hesitate.
I think it was part of her plan to look innocent.
Charles has been the “fall guy” since day 1-Anything to keep Wendi free from legal consequences. Denial runs deep in that “family”. Does Wendi realize how close she is to losing her son’s respect forever? The name change, the drive to the murder scene, the lies, the trials… all of it will hit them like a ton of bricks. I feel for those boys who are also victims of their own mom, uncle, & grandma.
They took those boys away from their daddy, and then they change their last names and also kept those babies from the grandparents. When those children get older and they start watching these videos on what their mother and the Mother family did to their daddy they are going to have a whole different outlook. I am so glad everything is on video for these boys to see that Justice is getting served for their father’s death!
Ive been watching every minute of this trial. Seems so obvious that Donna and Wendi were involved. Do you all think they'll be arrested at some point? Is there a statue of limitations for a conspiracy to commit murder? Asking for a friend:)

THere is no statute of limitations for murder in FL. However there is very restrictive legislation regarding wrongful death . so there is no civil suit option open to the Markels to cruel the Adelson family or Charlie's assets in the civil courts.
The evidence that has evolved regarding Donna , particularly on day two of the trial leaves it open to charge her with second or first degree murder.
I'm not sure about the situation with conspiracy to murder in FL.
BTW Conspiracy to murder is a Federal offense too... that was one of the drivers of all the issues with getting Wendi to testify an why she had to have John Lauro , a very expensive lawyer, in court while she testified. The St of FL cannot give an indemnity against a federal prosecution. There's a mass of wheels and levers in here.. to quote Bert Cooper.
it's inevitable that Donna will be arrested . Wendi has committed multiple counts of pejury. The SA should grow a pair and arrest her on that count as well. it's plain as day that she fed through the information on Dan's movements either direct to CA or to Donna . There is NO WAY that this information could be elicited from the ProfsBlog. Det. Sanford as called back on Day 4, about 5 hr into the testimony to establish this.
I’m most worried about them nailing Wendi. The evidence against her is the weakest. If they don’t get her I will be so angry because she is the reason the Adelsons hate him so much. We know Dan was a good guy who just wanted to be involved in his boys lives. So the only reason they could hate him with such vitriol is they’ve been fed horrific false information about Dan. She is the root of Satan.
