- As the murder trial of Dan Markel continues in Florida, Luis Rivera took the stand on Friday to testify. Rivera was the driver of the getaway car and one of three hitmen who were allegedly hired by Charlie Adelson in the 2014 homicide. Rivera took a plea deal in 2016 and is currently serving 19 years behind bars. As Adelson’s trial moves into week two, he faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Oddly enough, the hired hitman also happens to be the most credible witness.
That’s so on point, oddly enough. He is very believable bc that’s what happens when your telling truth.
Juries never take incarcerated witnesses that cooperate for deals, seriously. No he does not seem credible. You are just naive. The jury will convict or not convict based on evidence, and this man's testimony will not be a factor.

The only way that either one of them will ever go to prison is if Charlie tells what really happened and implicates them. He's not going to do that so it's not going to happen.

She asked her a direct question about receiving some type of immunity when Wendis answer to a question was less than straightforward.

I find Mr. Rivera to be completely honest and forthcoming in this case. He’s never once changed his story. Thank God he cooperated. May his testimony lead to justice for the Markel family. I say this being fully aware that the man is a heinous individual. But I don’t think he’s a liar.

I agree. When I was 23, my father was murdered. Sitting through a trial and hearing person after person going up and recounting what happened is hard for the family. I wouldn't wish that experience on my worst enemy.

When prosecutors offer plea deals, often times people outside of the case get upset that they are letting criminals off easy but plea deals are always talked over with the victim and/or families of the victim first before they're offered to the defendant. Alot of families will allow them offering one to avoid sitting through a trial.

The State does not have enough evidence to prosecute Wendi and secure a guilty conviction. Parental rights vs children's rights laws have been at odds in our country for a long while and I don't see a resolution coming down the pipe in any reasonable time frame to affect real change in this particular case.
Custody battles would take years.
I'm saying the public knows Wendi is guilty. Those boys will also soon begin doubting their mother's innocence, especially if Donna is successfully prosecuted. Her own children confronting her, possibly turning on her, would devastate Wendi and cut her much deeper than any court ever could.

Those who had entered a "bargain plea" with the corrupt court system, when asked to testify, will only lie when pointing their fingers to other suspects.
That's what Rivera did, when he accused Garcia of pulling the trigger with the gun Rivera bought, and admitted he received full payment, in spite of refusing to do the shooting he had agreed to.

So sickening to know what they bought with the money- as if a motorbike and a car, etc is worth a ILIFE. I cannot imagine how Dan's Sister and Parents feel when they sit there hearing about the goodies that these two bought with their ill gotten gains.
It's almost unfathomable that this loser with all losers involved killed a great guy, devoted father, loving son - great family man etc. My heart aches for Dan's family. How could they do this?

Luis was the first to go to jail, the first to speak the truth, the last man connected to this case and he got hit the hardest. While everyone else was enjoying life and money! He got hit harder then the person who wanted all of this to happen. Harder then the person who paid to have this happen. Harder then the middle man making all this come together to happen. Harder then the actual person who murdered this innocent man. I believe Luis should get less time out of everyone else involved. I’m NOT saying NO TIME. He just shouldn’t get as much. He was along for the ride and money. Everyone above him should get life.
