I still don't think the relocation was the main motivating factor for the murder. I think Dan's fraud allegations opened the entire family up to scrutiny. I remember in one of his police interviews, Lacasse mentioned Charlie bragging about hiding money essentially - something like "I've got this in Mom's name, this is in Dad's name," etc. I'm certain they helped Wendi hide money during her divorce, and Dan had figured it out. It wasn't just not liking him, they were protecting something.

All Charlie could do was sit there batting his eyes like an owl, in disbelief how Georgia was putting all the truth together , trembling inside more & more as he could see her putting it all together for the jury to convict him. He was hearing himself in his head , saying he was screwed, he should have trusted his gut & took off for Vietnam!

Ms Cappleman's style was the opposite of Rashbum's.
Rashbum was all over dramatic"themes", arm waving, bad tv and, unbelievably he even said to the jury, "when you are looking at this, remember to say to yourself, "What would Rashbaum do." It was SO patronizing, I was truly embarrassed for him
Ms Cappleman was low key and conversational in tone. And SHE said to the jury, "use your common sense." So SHE indicated that she respected their intelligence and that was all she asked of them.
I was stunned that Rashbum was so bad. Yes, I know he had an incredibly guilty client, but the clangors I mention above, those have nothing to do with the client, that's ALL Rashbum.

@@louesparza8003 Yup. The Adelsons hired in their own image.
And it does look like they hired a person who has the same "value system". ie what's important is Money.
I don't want to be ridiculous about it. We all value money. Obviously.
And everybody deserves to be defended well in court. The big problem isn't that rich people get phalanxes of experienced, connected attorneys, is it that less monied people are all too often badly represented by bad, or very over-stretched attorneys.
HOWEVER...there are SO many attorneys who struggle to pay for all their years of education and then go into jobs that exist to really help the world, and don't earn them bags of money,
Did little 8 year old Rashy say to himself "when I grow up I want to earn myself more money than I need by helping really vile evil people who harm society face no consequences."? Probably not.
So at what point in his life did he turn off part of his soul?

Why would Charlie allow himself to be extorted when DM was shot and in hospital? DM didn't pass until early next morning and Wendy didn't tell Charlie until 10am. Either way, when Charlie paid the money DM was alive and Charlie could have simply locked the door and called police when Katie 'went outside for 5 minutes' to call the extortionists for approval on the 'layaway' plan.
