Most people hated will's son in this movie, I was one of them. Now that I'm 36 years old, I now understand that most people hates clumsy and loser characters because we see ourselves when we were young. I even hated Naruto because of this and liked Sasuke. I loved samurai x anime because Kenshin was already matured and full of wisdom, but I didn't know before he was Shinta before becoming Kenshin. Now that I'm old, I realized it takes time to mature and grow. I had so many mistakes and clumsyness but now that I understand it is necessary to learn, I have never regretted a a single mistake I made. I learned from those mistakes. Same with will's son in this movie where he learned and grew from all those challenges.

@@zebraarbez9410 maybe low relative oxygen. As in, maybe the new planet the humans have been living in for thousands of years has much higher levels of oxygen than earth. Over time the human species would adapt to that level of oxygen, and when returning to earth, the oxygen is seemingly low since they’re used to much more oxygen on the new planet

Honestly, the name "Cypher Raige" is like having a Lamborghini in The Lord of The Rings- it may sound nice to some, but it should not by all means be right to have it in there. Kinda a lore buster.

Because am I to believe that he was named Cypher at birth? So he is the only person that does not have a name even rooting from his culture or traditions as a normal human being? His son is named Kitai, his daughter is Senchi, even his wife is beautifully named Faia. Those names sound and feel natural as birth names even in their futuristic world where all countries of all race have united for centuries. You know someone wanted his name to be Cypher Raige because it sounds like Cypher RAGE, because it sounds COOL or POWERFUL or standout, but it’s just so silly.

Nothing naturally rhymes in the movie, but you can see where it was supposed to or should have.

Lets also not forget it took the humans 1,000 years to realize that 'not being scared' was the way to beat them. Not to mention how laughably pathetic the technology is for being 1,000 years in the future
Assuming we kept at a steady pace technologically, those med kits probably would have had something that instantly healed broken bones, or better yet, humans are already genetically engineered to be practically invincible.

The rest maybe not be that great, but it definitely had some freshness to it - and I like that despite any other flaws of the movie - the tried and the result was good enough.

My older sister used this movie to traumatize me for 5 years, back when I was a really young kid, I referred to it as "That Will Smith and His Son Movie."
She told me the world would end by aliens and we'll all die in a year (she was 15 and I was around 9 or 8). After a year, it never happened so I was a bit discouraged but you know, I already believed her and had a huge phobia of aliens that literally gave me panic attacks whenever aliens were mentioned. I was the type of kid to ponder life and death with a huge imagination (probably because of this), so it really messed with me down the line. She was a naive kid herself, but she herself did know that this was all a lie but tricked me into believing it. What's worse is that she completely forgot about this "little lie." I don't believe in aliens now, for that reason. It's still a messed up part of my life where I was genuinely
Even tho I was a legit child, I thought I should just off myself and convince everyone else to die so we wouldn't be killed in the world-ending, alien caused explosion.
Anyways, moral of the story, don't purposely traumatize people who are more naive than you. Plus, I'm sure only 95% of this is true (that last memory is more hazy in my memory, but i remember a thought I once had) since apparently what you think are your memories are actually bull that you mostly made up. I dunno, I'd always ponder how memory works because it always confused me.

Just like on Earth...if is CAN exist, you can bet it DOES exist. Aliens are definitely REAL...but...aliens in the sense of extraterrestrial intelligence out there somewhere. Stories of so-called "aliens" coming to Earth and abducting people is MUCH less likely.

Yeah you make sense but glass is fragile and making an armour out of it will make it break easily while running around. I think the best they could do is make an emergency glass dome where they go into hiding when the Ursa attacks it.
