    Steve Jobs is the visionary leader and salesman of Apple. Wozniak is the brains and heart of Apple at least the original Apple. Such an amazing inventor, tinkerer, engineer, and human being. So grounded and humble and open to sharing.

    • @The-Rest-of-Us
      @The-Rest-of-Us 8 лет назад +23

      +80schampion Although I would argue that Jobs was also the heart of Apple. Also, he surely learnt a lot from Woz. Bill Gates once said "even though Jobs is not an engineer, he has amazing intuition for what works and how to do it". I think much of this comes from spending so much time with Woz in the early days.

    • @projectjt3149
      @projectjt3149 7 лет назад +7

      Keep in mind, however, that it's his humble and gentile heart that is the reason why he didn't stay in Apple. But that's fine. He's still Woz.

      Today I do own 2 computers and iPhone and an iPad, I'm online 24/7 since 1998, I do work (oviously) online and am part of a revolutionary Mobile marketing company....but I still fucken have paper and pencil available anywhere. :-)

    Steve Wozniak has the heart at the right spot! He got what life is all about, the polar opposite to Steve Jobs. Where Steve Jobs wants to restrict, confine and lockdown products possibilities... Steve Wozniak wants to explore the possibilities of them, in a child like manner with eyes wide open looking for fun together with everyone. Unlike Steve Jobs that only looked to enrich himself, limit customers possibilities and try to chain them to the apple ecosystem.
    But this story is also a good story about karma, you reap what you sow. I am no one to judge people, Steve Jobs included... so I don't want to say he reaped what he sow.
    But the moral of the story is... do what is right, be nice to people... don't be selfish... and people will love you for it, just las much loved as Steve Wozniak is!

  • @commonce420

    A common challenge with "the guru talks", is that we sublimely perceive these people in the bias of their accomplishments, rather than the other way around. Learning with focus on their nature.
    That being said, Steve Wozniak is one of those quiet innovators who inspired my engineering mindset, people approach and the creative process.
    It's worth to mention that every anvil deserves a hammer like Steve Jobs. Personally I think you can't have one without the other.
    Steve Wozniak, you're my hero!

    Woz was the real hero behind Apple's early success. The genius engineer who design, built, and programmed the computer hardware that put the Apple I & Apple II on our desks at home.
    Yeah, the sales & marketing guy upstaged him at every turn and hogged the spotlight. But this is the big hearted genius that actually created something that Jobs could sell.
    Me, I'm much more impressed with engineering than sales & marketing. Sure, you need someone to sell, sell, sell in order to generate the cashflow needed to build a brand. But without brilliant engineering you've got nothing to demonstrate at the next computer show.
    Thanks Woz for the Apple II that jump started my lifelong computer career. Especially for insisting on all those beautiful expansion board slots. I used them all!

    Wozniak's idea of helping others was self motivated, and is to be applauded ... this should never be confused with the government forcing others to do the same. Ha...I grew up in Berkeley and I remember when Steve Jobs finally graduated under the alias. I read a newspaper article about it at the time. I know all the places he talked about in his talk. Some of them are still there (except the phone booths, of course ;) ). Don't forget Steve is the one who put on the US Festival in 1982 which was a huge outdoor concert with all of the best bands of the day. He lost money so he pretty much did it for the same altruistic reasons that he helped the other people who worked at apple.

    Steve Jobs & Woz are 2 sides of the same coin.
    One was the creator the other the visionary, neither one could I ever get sick of listening to.
    Great talk here, hilarious pranks lol.

    You could play defender so well to the point of wrapping around the wave counter? That game is so impossible to play, like the successor Robotron 2084.
    Interesting, after the first computer using the processor 6502, a strictly 8 bit processor, the second was using the Motorola 68k, 16 bit/32 bit which was more powerful than the 6809 used in Defender and Robotron. Williams adopted the TMS34010, a strange processor which addresses any memory using bit value instead of byte (8 bit, word (16 bit) or other multiple.
