    Wow! GREAT video! I've just found that the remove tool can be more amazing (and faster) than the gen fill. I've also had issues with lanterns looking realistic in Lightroom. Your way of doing it looks great! THANK YOU Jamie! LOVE doing this kind of stuff! New subscriber!

    Another helpful lesson Jamie. I'm wondering if you have ever come up with a way to remove a hard shadow like the one across the plaza area?

      Hi Michael, yes, you can use the object selection tool and then balance the lighting and colour to match 😀

    I watched a couple of your videos and they are very interesting. The results are beautiful. I have a question about Photoshop and I hope you can help me. I have a product on my Apple computer called Adobe Photoshop 2023. I believe there is another version of Photoshop called Photoshop Cloud, or something. I believe that is the version you are using, specifically the beta version. I say this because my version of Photoshop doesn't have Generative Fill. Do you know if Generative Fill will be available in both "flavors" of Photoshop? These versions are priced differently and I am not interested in the cloud version. Do you know when this beta version will be a general release? Thank you.

    • @jamiermathlin
      @jamiermathlin  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the questions, currently you can only get Generative Fill options through the Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop Beta Version starting at version 24.7, the Photoshop Standard Version 24.7 does not have Generative Fill available, a little bit confusing, as the numbers for Beta should really be ahead of the standard versions. The latest Beta version is 25.0, however, this has a slight issue as it is not currently able to link directly with Lightroom, and version 25.0 Beta only has Generative Expand as the main additional option, this option can be selected manually in version 24.7 Beta, so no real advantage to moving to version 25.0. Based on the information I have managed to locate on the internet it is not clear if and when Adobe will include Generative Fill in the standard non-CC version of Photoshop, there is speculation on the web that Adobe may actually release Generative Fill as an additional subscription-only option to the CC module, we can only currently speculate on what they do. Personally, I like the CC options, as I get the updates as soon as they are released and the CC App works very well for managing my Adobe options. plus once you lock in with the subscription they do not increase the price if you maintain your subscription, so I have paid £7.99/month since I joined in 2016, it starts expensive but after a few years, it becomes very good value. Sorry for such a long response, I hope this is helpful 😀

      @@jamiermathlin Thank you for the response. It was not too long and it was very informative. I am happy you were able to decipher my query. Creative Cloud is the name I was not able to remember. If memory serves, I have seen other instances where Adobe added features to Photoshop, but only the Creative Cloud version. I see this as a marketing ploy and it's disappointing. These days I am not doing enough work in Photshop to justify the price of Creative Cloud. The current prices vary from $82.49/month to $599.88/year USD, depending on the package chosen. I cannot justify that. You are fortunate to be getting the deal you have. Thank you again for the reply. Your work is stunning; I will be watching more videos.

    I have watched many of your videos which I like. They look great but how will these night scenes print. Have you tried it? What is your results? Any major adjustments?

    • @jamiermathlin
      @jamiermathlin  Год назад

      You have to raise the exposure by around 1/2 to 3/4 of a stop and reduce contrast by around 10 points, then they print just fine 😀

    Does not deleting the unused fill choices on each layer make the overall file size bigger than it needs to be ?

    • @jamiermathlin
      @jamiermathlin  Год назад +2

      generally, I find that if I leave all the layers stacked, when I save I end up with a much larger file, this is why I flatten the image when I can 🙂

    It is better to use Photoshop for panaramic photo merge. Because it has facility to add content aware fill while making panorama. And it gives excellent results.also Photoshop supports large files.

      Hi Nicky, if you have the Adobe CC pack of Lightroom and Photoshop, you can load the cloud app, which then gives you access to the Beta versions of Photoshop, hope this helps..

    Great PS and LTR skill :) only one thing, at night there would never be such a harsh light division on the area - you have one half of the square lit ba sunlight and the other in the shadow from a bulding not in frame, that also should have been adjusted :) take it just as a tip for future :)
