- Ford just opened their order banks for the 2024 s650 mustang and people are rushing to get their orders in. After many months of waiting, I finally get the chance to spec out the ultimate Dark Horse. This is the one of the most highly anticipated cars for the 2024 model year. What do you think about how I decided to spec my car out?

there's been a 500 hp N/A from factory engine since the LS7! I cant believe the Coyote has 500 HP now. Ford has done a great job with that engine!
A whole 500HP?! Wow!!! That hasn't been done for 15+ years at all. Definitely a new benchmark.
@@hoss0569 I feel like the bigger claim to fame is 500 NA HP from a V8 in 2023/2024. In a time everyone else is ditching the (affordable) V8, it's good to see one last standout.

$70000, it's crazy! I understand that is the last muscle car, but it is priced at a crazy expensive MSRP. A Camaro ZL1 comes with more options, it will spank the dark horse at the track, and it cost the same.
My thoughts exactly because I have a zl1 and this car is way overpriced.
I'm a stang guy gotta agree that's why im getting a used premium or performance pack low miles when they drop im not spending that type of bread. I mod my own shit anyways

The base price for Dark Horse is about $59 and it is well equipped out of the box so I spec’d for $61. Still expensive but you can always get the GT premium for about $50. No need to get $70 k model unless you’re going to track it frequently. For street use, it’s good at $62.
@@rembo183 Sure, but the point is that you get more from a $70,000 ZL1 than from a $70,000 Dark horse.

Awesome Racer X! Love that Grabber Blue! I totally understand why you didn't get the stick. The 10 speed makes more sense IMO! I don't see anything wrong with what you spec'ed your car at. It's perfect! You don't need the Recaro seats if you're already a sponsor for them. You'll most likely get a shot at some new seats to try out! Once again, Congrats!!!
Why buy the Handling Package if Your thing is to Drag Race. No Need for Recaro's in a straight Line.
congrats, love the Chanel, but 70K plus taxes on a non super charged car its too expensive for me, I think is just insane how they are charging for muscle cars.

What I need to know before I commit to the new Dark Horse is how tunable these mustangs will be. Going forward there will be a lot of computer tech in ICE and EV's. Many manufacturers want to have more control on tuning. More $ for them. Happy for you Racer X. Looking forward to the content.
Whipple already have a 3.0 kit advertised. But they likely have Ford’s blessing with their tune. Doubt Lund or PBD or any other reputable tuner get full/major access (cracking the code) to the car for a while.
The only issue is that it requires an ECU jailbreak. Outside of that, it will likely be the most tunable motor ever made. Dual throttle unlocks a ton of potential capability.

Congrats. I ordered a GT premium fully spec'd excluding the Recaro seats because my back actually likes heated seats and lumbar support. Everyone around me was charging around $20k over msrp for the dark horse so I got the GT Premium for msrp and just a few horse power short of the Dark Horse and the torque is practically the same. Can't wait. Also went with the automatic but mostly because of the reliability compared to the stock GT premium. Cheers!

Racerx! On Monday the 27th of March I ordered my own Dark Horse in Blue Ember metallic paint, 10-speed automatic Dark Horse appearance package Recaro seats, deluxe package. 700a. Came in at just under 68,000. I can't wait!

But that blue is the most stand out color and looks like old school laser blue. The only other thing is I'd HAVE TO HAVE the Recaros for $1600 but you said you might get them later. Besides that perfect spec.

I have 485 HP in my Scat Pack TA for 48k. Idk if it's worth 70k for 500hp. Maybe... But I guess prices are up.

Your scat pack the same car as the 2016 models with tiny updates, the 2024 Mustang includes better technology, more power, redesign, better handling than that scat pack you have.

Great spec! I would have gotten the exact same spec if I ordered it except I would have gone with a tremec six-speed and installed a MGW shifter once I got it. I'm getting ready to purchase a MGW shifter for my Mach 1 this weekend. Hope it gets built soon and looking forward to the videos!

I was able to get an allocation at a local dealership today. They were asking $3K market adjustment but that was much better than the $10K-$20K that all others were asking in my area!

I think if I was ordering one just to answer your question I would do it really similar because I love blue especially anything that’s close to that hellcat b5 blue color. I wouldn’t do any stripes or anything though. I would do blacked out wheels. Also would be leather interior.
Then afterwards I would upgrade exhaust to borla atak, get roush intake, long tube kook headers, e85 tune.
That’s my plan with my current 2021 mustang GT performance package car. I got the roush intake so far and it sounds cool when it sucks in air.

I'd go with the manual just because I'm stubborn lol plus many look for that in the long run since they're getting harder to get. But for speed yeah the 10 speed auto is the way to go

Tremec manual is a huge selling point and would be the only way to go for me in the Dark Horse. I'd also be keeping mine stock and enjoying the balanced factory performance. If I were going to heavily mod for big power, I could see going with a10 of course.
Bro with your Plaid do you have any issues with the half shafts? I want to pickup one but worried of having to deal with thr shudder issue. Seems a lot have it.

No issue's with half-shaft or shutter at all. I do feel an unrelated subtle vibration for a couple min at low speeds after the car hasn't been driven for several hours. It seems that most if not all 21+ S Teslas have the initial vibration.
Otherwise, the car has been perfectly fine, going on almost a year now.
@@ms3ben Okay cool. So you don't feel it's a mass design issue with the model S? Hopefully that's the case. I've just seen many stories about guys having to go in for service for half shaft replacements. Some have gone through multiple in just a few thousand miles. Seems quite odd but maybe it's just the way they are driving them or a large batch of bad half shafts...idk lol.
But overall your happy with plaid and would buy it again?

I dont feel its a mass design issue. I also work with someone that has a 23' X plaid with no shutter issues with his either.
I would definitely buy again, as It is a steal for what you get IMO, especially at the current new MSRP!
The endless acceleration is addictive and never gets old. The tech is awesome and the range is more than sufficient. The steering feel and handling are surprisingly good but the yoke is a joke. I recommend the round steering wheel option. The brakes are fine but could be stronger at high speeds, there are aftermarket solutions for that.
You may want to try and rent a Plaid from Turo for a couple days to see if its really for you.
@@ms3ben Thanks for all the advice. Yeah I've tested a couple of plaids before and they were nice. Ride was smooth and I did love the acceleration. Cabin was really quiet too and sound system was better than any stock car I've had before. I really was only set back on the worries of my new plaid being in the shop constantly for servicing lol
If that's not the case I'll definitely buy one.

That’s an awesome spec combo you picked. Ive really come to like that Grabber Blue Met. I would like to trade up to a Dark Horse from my 21 GT but I’m looking at moving to Florida in the next year so I will just wait. Congratulations on getting the order in.
Congratulations, X. I have to say that at heart I have always been and always will be a Dodge man.
But the reality is, none of that means a heck of a lot if I am unable to afford one no matter how good it is.
Personally, I really feel that Tim Kuniskis (and Dodge) has let down all Dodge fans especially those who
put them at the top through their patronages. They've done virtually (if not literally) NOTHING to combat
these dealer markup ripoff artists, and even now with the Demon 170, 2018 Demon owners aren't getting their
supposed privileged "1st come Demon 170 allocations" at sticker. I love what Dodge has done with their
performance line, there's no denying that. But the way they treat their loyal followers, I say screw em, it's
time to move on! Even the Scat Pack is stupid expensive and they mark those up as well.
Not only is your Dark Horse awesome, but the final numbers at the bottom of the sticker sheet was
VERY convincing and inviting. I'll be visiting my local Ford dealership very soon.

I agree with the pricing dodge has risen like 5k across the board used to be able to get a scat pack for 45k nicely equipped now that’s the price of an r/t smh it’s bull shit and that’s why it’s made the used market on those go up like crazy too !! I’ll just gravitate to a Camaro or mustang for 45k u can get a 6!speed too in those and have fun for a great value
you better make it real soon and shop dealers , after calling 4 i found one to take my order on Monday for dark horse at msrp
the other dealers had $10-15K on top
It's not the dealer's it's the consumers driving the insane markups, if you searched Dodge forums when the Demon came out, the TRX, or the Wrangler 392.....or Vette forums with the C8 launch, people advertising selling cars 20-30-50k over once they got delivery.....and this is then a used car! The dealers adjusted so they make the money for thier rare earned allocation, rather than the consumer that bought it(I saw firsthand people selling the first TRX and Wrangler 392 allocations we had that we sold at 5k over, flipping them for 20k over within a month)

Congratulations!!! I'm in the working with adelar know getting The Blue Amber Metallic with the 700A packed and the Tremec transmition. The first dealer I was working with tried to do a switch and bait on me. Agreed to MSRP over the phone then wanted to add $5000.00 when I was placing the order at the dealer. Now I'm working with a dealer from out of state.
Grabber blue is awesome but that Atlas blue is a great color too. Congrats and good luck.

Congrats. Got a GT Premium in grabber blue in November and I kinda want to go with the s650. But I'll hold off longer for it.
Grabber Blue with the matching calipers is the perfect choice! This color is a throwback to the Mustangs of the late sixties and early seventies. And it looks sharp with the black accents.
Hey RacerX since you went with the 10 speed you should think about having your built.by midnight performance. They did the 10 speed Trans for Cleetus McFarlands F150 give away truck and that thing was badass. I love how you specd this car out.inwould have specd it out the same way probably at least pretty close to similar and I'd go with the 10 speed myself.
