Mike: I don’t want to be too “flowery”, but as someone who fondly remembers Charles Kuralt, Paul Harvey and even Skip Stephenson, Byron Allon and Sarah Purcell, I want to tell you how blessed we are to have you share your talents with us in this format. Your story about Bob Ross is so interesting! Who knew that the hair and voice we all grew up watching on PBS came from something so starkly different? I look forward to more from you, Mike, and truly appreciate what you are doing.

Always have enjoyed your work, from before your Dirty Jobs days to this very program currently. Also appreciate your social commentary on such matters as real work erhic and those concerns that truly do (and have) made America great. Thank you!
Only recently have I been paying attention to your excellent storytelling efforts.
Not surprisingly, I am reminded of one of my all-time favotites: the late, great Paul Harvey. He was such a wonderful commentator on so many levels, and your excellent true tales remind me very much of his often moving "Rest of the Story" broadcasts through the years.
Anyway, I just wanted to properly thank you for all of your endeavors, as well. Look forward to many more!

When I reflect back on all the photographs people paint with thought, it never ceases to amaze. Whether Starry Night, the Saturday evening post, or Michelangelo's reality. It is the thinker that brings me home. Without His process I do not exist. The nature of man tends to lean in a direction of common view I do not recognize. It whispers faint insult creating frenzied minds and confusion mixes with despair. Why with all the thought of doom do we not choose to brighten our pallets? Why is rumor so electric and truth the common bore? Do we lack what motivates trust and forgiveness? To shade the sketch into a perfect blend of copper, there is only hope. To turn our hearts around, we must make water colours more deafening than pastels. And the softest touch, tangible.

The weirdest thing today. I happened upon this video having never before seen a Mike Rowe RUclips video. This morning, I, for some unknown reason, put on a Bob Ross Galaxy T-shirt my wife had bought me a few months ago. I had never worn it in public before today. I’m sitting here watching this video knowing exactly who Mike was speaking of while wearing this Bob Ross shirt. A coincidence? I think not. These two men, Bob and Mike, I have the utmost respect for. It was nice hearing a tribute to one decent person from another decent person. I subscribed to Mike's videos just now and hope to be seeing a lot of him in the future. It might be time to watch another Bob Ross Video too. Can’t get enough of two great men in one day.

Very good show. You remind me of Paul Harvey's "The Rest of The Story"(high praise of you, intended). It is funny that I can relate to part of this story. My father's name was Bob Ross. He was a CPO in the US Coast Guard during WWII. As a kid, I was awoken every morning to him walking into our room(2 brothers) smoking a cigar and yelling "rise and shine, hit the deck".
He was an employer who preferred vets when hiring. As his son, I was free labor so, I worked most vacations from age 13 on. We built houses. I got to work with all trades and picked up a bit of everything. Everyday, just before noon, we broke for lunch and listened to Paul Harvey while we ate. No talking was allowed during the show. It usually was the highlight of the work day. I can still remember a few of the stories.
I now have to watch Episodes 1 through 105 and subscribe. Thanks
