It is soooooo refreshing to see a Mother/Son relationship such as yours. To hear and see the love and respect you have for one another is marvelous. In this world of hardships, sadness, meaness, people just being unkind to one another.. seeing you Mike and your precious Mother, is just such a treat to us all....Thanks.
As a mom to 3 sons I am so happy to see your relationship with your mom. Peggy is soft spoken and sounds like an even keeled person. You are respectful and playfully say things to get a reaction from her. I had listened to your reading of her email about the blue purse and know she influenced you quite a bit with her subtlety and humor. If Dirty Jobs doesn't work out you and she could be the next Abbot and Costello type duo.
Yeah, as some people have pointed out, you can definitely see where Mike got his humor from pretty quickly when you see him talk to his mother. She is as funny as he is, and in almost exactly the same way. Quipping on everything, but especially each other, is definitely where he got that great ability to make random offsides comments about anything and make it really funny.
Enjoyed you and your mom . I miss mine and think of her often. How fortunate two have two parents still with you. Have been to Sedona many times..Wish I were there today.
It's great to see Peggy sitting next to you as you treat us to another delightful story. Read her book, by the way, and loved it. Thanks Mike and Thanks Peggy!
Mike's Mom is great. Please appreciate any time you can spend with your Mother and/or Father. For once they are gone, you will never see or talk to them again on this Earthly plane. Thanks for the video.
Mike, stories are a great way to entertain, inform, and convince. And being told on here is a better platform than Facebook. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
Lovely story and having travelled in Arizona, the minute you mentioned the road to Flagstaff, I figuered it was Sedona that tranquil place he had helped build. I say it again, your mother is a lovely & adorable lady💞
I normally don’t cry…I normally don’t wet my pants either…but every time your mother is on your show I seem to regress to a time when I couldn’t suppress such urges…or perhaps I’m aging…please keep her coming back!
I loved your mother's book. I listen to audio books through the library and was awaiting your book, as it was already borrowed. The suggestion was hers. It was delightful. I'd recently been interested in Russian Literature, and my brain was on overload. I usually listen to books on headphones whilst working. I had no idea what I was in for when beginning your mom's book. I think my coworkers may have thought I lost it. I would bust out laughing one minute, the next I was near tears. It reminded me so much of my grandmother (Peggy, the fun one) and my own mother (the strict one, but also creative enough to figure out how to eat in the Whitehouse). It was just the right measure of reality and laughter. Good medicine! Thank you. Now, because of that book, I want to watch Dirty Jobs, which I've never seen. So, here she is, getting more fans for you.
It’s always very touching to see you with your mom. You two have a lovely relationship. You’re very blessed to have her. I always feel a little twinge of jealousy seeing you two together, but I am happy for you Mike. I lost my mom when I was 29 years old. Anyway hug her tight and always make time for her while you can. She looks very easy to love. You’re very blessed Mike. ♥️ Oh and I love your videos. Thank you so much for making and sharing them.
I married my lovely wife in Sedona, outside, under those storied red rocks. The beginning of the best days of my life. Such a magical place. Thank you for this Mike!
My younger years were very much influenced by Paul Harvey's "The Rest Of The Story". THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL ! HE certainly has Blessed U.S. with YOU !
And 28 years later, in 1930, my mother and her little sister were 2 of 5 students enrolled in the little one-room schoolhouse in Sedona. A few months later the family moved back to Ogemaw County Michigan where they were from originally.
Momma inviting herself to more of her sons readings. Lovely! How I yearn to hv a son who'd like to spend a Saturday with me. Perhaps when I grow older wiser and grayer.. 👨🦳 🥂
That was wonderful Mike your mother added some flavor for you wonderful woman she instill the best in you I'm sure as your father help mold you you'll probably never read this or okay it but God bless your words are warmth and comforting I would say amazing but that don't sound right maybe you could reply with the word thanks so much we appreciate you here at my house
She’s right...my son is an actor in LA and he posted a picture on his FB page and I mentioned that he was looking a bit thin. He privately asked me to refrain from such things lol. Had to chuckle. Love your mamma ♥️
I just came across your videos here and it was kind of ironic as just a few days ago I had mentioned to a friend the hours of entertainment you brought me during your Dirty Jobs era. I would like to thank you for being you and all your efforts in producing these The Way I Heard It series that are sure to provide me with many hours of laughter. All the best to you and yours Mike, Billy, Canada
Your mother is a delight. And charming Freddie reminds me of our first dog from the early ‘70s, whose mother was a Peekapoo and father was anybody’s guess. His name was Partner, taken from Clint Eastwood’s character in the musical Paint Your Wagon. After a long and pampered life, he was followed by Toby, a charming mongrel with a big heart. Susie was next, another rescue. After more years, the role of chief canine in our household went to a rescued miniature Labradoodle named Buddy, and recently his adopted Beagle sister Sally. Extra points if you get the Buddy and Sally reference. Anyway, we are all big fans and greatly enjoy your stories.
I adore your parents, for they seem so very wonderful without having to try.....your Mom's letters are the best. *What is the difference between in-laws and outlaws? *Outlaws are wanted.
Mom muscled into the Saturday show. Salary negotiations to follow and soon you’ll be joining Her on the show. She’s not 80 years old for nothing Mike...My mom is eighty eight and still makes “comments” about my facial hair specially my eyebrows (she thinks I should dye them). God bless our moms.
I've just discovered your podcast, i love it and subscribed so that I can listen from the start. Now I've discovered that you're on RUclips too, I'm going to be very busy for quite a while, thanks 👍 P.s. your parents are awesome, the podcast i listened to was Jan 2022, good to hear that they are happy and healthy.
This man could narrate a phone book and I'd still want to listen!
Belle Chanson same here! He has a very soothing voice
Right
If i were gay, i had a crush on him. :)
Amen☺️❣️

Going back through these for the third time. Nobody better to pay tribute to Paul Harvey's legacy of historical Americana. As always, thank you Mike.

One of my favorites, along with truth in advertising, too funny:)
oh my goodness..."maybe I could come EVERY Saturday?" The look on the son's face...priceless!

Thanks for all you do Mike♥️
Precious. My sons and I share that sense of honesty as well. It's so refreshing!
