This advice is so underrated.
I kid you not, i quit smoking / doing drugs / heavy drinking like that.
I was TRYING to quit smoking.
I was TRYING to quit doing drugs.
I was TRYING to quit drinking.
I would tell people around me that I was TRYING.
Then one day i was thinking to the day I started smoking. I remember that moment so clearly. The people I was with. The street we were walking.
I took my first puff of that cigarette and that was it for that day.
If you'd ask me later that day if I was a smoker, I would have told you NO. I just tried a cigarette but Im not a smoker!
7 years later i was still smoking, but now if you'd ask me if I was a smoker, I would tell you yes (I mean i DO smoke everyday, so I AM a smoker).
So I thought. At some point along those 7 years I did start associating myself as a smoker.
What if I could reverse engineer that?
I'll just tell myself I'm not a smoker. Yeah right, at the beginning it will feel like a lie, but I'm just gonna "lie" to myself. idc
Its been about 6 years since that day and I havent smoked ONCE since (to be clear, im not saying it was easy, I still craved my cigarettes, but wtf, Im not a smoker, what am I gonna do? Smoke?)
I have since applied that to drinking, drugs AND business.
I would catch myself thinking things like: "im trying to build this project" and would correct my thoughts to "I AM building a product".
Im not trying to get my business off the ground, I AM running my business.
It's been such a powerful lifehack that I found and am now seeing other people talk about it, but for some reason when I talk to others about it they just act like its some WOO WOO type shit, even tho its right in front of them.
Yesterday I started reading "Think and grow rich" and to my surprise in the first pages of the book the author talks about this too.
Hey babe, that was actually really insightful and helpful. I'm actually "trying" to stop drinking and smoking now. I'm totally to rip that from you and write that down and think about it.
Even the people who watch ecom have some great advice to give.

I am glad to read your testimonial advice on this. I totally agree with you, and it was by following this exact same approach that I was able to quit smoking this year and become a copywriter by saying and affirming what I am and what I am not every day

What a great video! The older I get the more I’ve realised a lot of people don’t question things they may have been told they are not good at some point in their lives. When a change in perspective and approach can unlock that skill. Writing is a good example. There are so many ways to write. Just because you didn’t write well one way. Doesn’t mean you can’t do it. You just need to try a different way. Painting is another example. There are so many ways to paint.

Interesting seeing this video, this morning I started reading 'Stolen Focus by Johann Hari' and in chapter 2 he writes about meeting Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (I had to google him just to spell his surname) the man who studied and came up with the term 'flow state'.
great book and that was my fave chapter in that book

My flow state for writing is sitting down at my computer, word processor open, no distractions, and I play albums from Stars of the Lid or ambient albums by Brian Eno. And just go. Works like a charm.

1. Identify as a writer 0:30
- Don't put your identity on hold
- You'll create internal conflict if you deny being 'a writer', get rid of the internal conflict by owning it.
2. Access Flow State 2:08
- Absence of fear + total focus + flow
- fear = "what I write won't be good enough"
- flow cannot exist while multitasking (go analog)
3. Fill the Blank Page 3:41
- get rid of the fear by filling the page with questions (don't answer them yet!)
-- ie: what does the customer need to know at this point?
--- start the momentum with 'what, who, when, where, why' questions
4. Creative Brain vs Analytical Brain 5:19
- Do not analyse when you're writing
-- this will block momentum + flow
- trust the editor brain to do it's job later
-- [editors job = find the truth, make sure it makes sense and is grammatically correct]
- Only allow one at a time
5. Double Down on the Freaky Shit 7:30
- go all the way, let it all out
- get rid of grammar and 'making sense'
- make it fun
- let what needs to come out, come out.
- freedom to be vulnerable = your best work
6. Remove Your Desire to Write "Good" 8:50
"None of us know if we are the one. If you have something inside of you that you need to say, say it and don't let this idea of "good" or "bad" get in the way." - some dude with a smashed up face

This knowledge of soup is great 👍🏻 , very helpful maybe you should tell us how a beginner should start from beginning means how to find product if we have capital then manufacturing route or dropshipping route the marketing ads content then business operations and customer service and then scaling etc... means just how to find product either category or a niche or a problem ,
Means if you had to start to again how would you do , i just want to fail right , try as fast as i can to fail right to extract the seed , to know what things work what doesn't what things we have to do and what things we don't have to do , and how to do it. Once we know what works and what we have to do we'll only do that things whcih work now , so the probability of winning is nearly 100% , so thats what i am trying to do
