Why is everyone that's a pincher buying this and then complaining about not comfortably being able to pinch? Do you pinch your video game controller when playing video games? Otherwise, great review! Thanks! =)
I'm still getting used to the xlite and I can confirm that the xlite does not seem to have the precision of the Taranis. I'm finding that playing with your rates can help to make if feel more like what your used to if you fly the Taranis. I disagree that you should not get this as your first controller. If you are wanting a small transmitter then starting with the xlite would be a good idea. I really want to minimize the size of all my FPV stuff to make it easier to hike around with so I really hope I can get used to the xlite and get to the same flying level I'm at with my Taranis.
The small size factor is of course it's biggest upside, but I found that it's really hard for me to get used to the X-Lite and I am sticking to my X9D+.
If the lipos are to small for the charger, I find small circular magnets work really well. Great review Gal. I'll wait for an "s' addition with onboard charging or 18650 lipo support plus bigger hall gimbals. We can all wish eh!
Thanks Trevor. It is possible to modify the remote controller and add a micro USB charger, but I agree that FRSKY should have done it and spare us the extra work.
Very good review, thanks a lot, great work. Thumbs up!! This transmitter with the long range module and no more failsafes anymore. I like the form and the size a lot. Hope I can get one soon.
I agree with your point of view, but I think that the X-Lite has a better value. Hall sensor gimbals, case, wireless training (bluetooth), etc. for just a little more than the QX7 (and these features you'd only get with the QX7S). As I'm entering to this hobby soon I think that I'll get the X-Lite. I probably won't note that difference about the gimbals, and if I do, I will get used to it. The only thing I have a doubt about it is the capability of using it with simple r/c planes/wings, but I think it just has enough. I think it's worth the price.
Good review. Thank you for testing the external RF output. Have you a way of testing the internal antenna's RF output? Wireless buddy box capability is not in the shipped x-lite at this stage, but I believe is a planned later add-on. Not a TX for pinchers. Thumbers often want less throw, so reduced throw may actually be good. Especially for racing. Good point about the batteries. May not be room in the case to allow re-molding for 18650s? However batteries for me is not a deal breaker.
Thanks for your input. I agree - batteries issue is definitely not a deal breaker. The best way to test the internal antenna RF power will be to disassemble the rc and connect the RF tester instead of the internal antenna (not even sure if it's possible). Droneracer101 tested it using the sniffer capability of the immersionRC rf tool - you should check it out.
I got this as a first because of one reason: all the other radios are just waaaay too big, even this one with its case fills up half my backpack. Why are these radios are so damn big and heavy? whats the point?
Great video, i was thinking about buying one on presale and i just want sure it will fit my hands since its too small and i also not using my thumbs for flying. great- you helped me alot.
Smaller gimbals give you MORE resolution, not less. All the radios will give 1000 data points across the full throw of the stick. Having smaller gimbals (less throw) makes a HIGHER resolution because its the same number of data points in a shorter distance.
Thanks for your comment. If the sensitivity is identical (the smallest movement changes the value by 1 for example) and tge range is 1000-2000, the resolution is identical but the density will be higher on the X-Lite (like DPI on screens).
I would love to have one of this radio. You are a fortunate guy thanks that you can do it. Love your channel you are really cool and fly very well. Thanks for your contribution
I recently made the switch to pinching and I don't think that it's a good practice to switch. between pinching and thumbing. If you can - I highly recommend you to give it a try and hold it in your hands before buying it.
I totally agree with you this thing has potential.. but a Looong way to go. Seems it's the smaller finals the get me. I bought it, set up a couple quads with rxsr rx and yea, i do not like it at all. I should have seen this review before the purchase :( thanks again brother! Your reviews are spot on.
so you have to buy batteries and a charger separately? that is bizarre. glad I found your video so I did not get a controller and find it had no batteries. lol
Do you feel any difference with the range between other frsky transmitter? and does it have better range then irx-ir8m? ( just another thumb flyer transmitter i used) Anyone?
Thanks for the great review! Good info to have if mine ever arrives lol 😝 I was told there was a mould issue causing the delay. I use the qx7s as my main radio. Do you think this can replace it?
Thanks Dante. I think that it might replace it as a second backup / travel friendly remote controller. Looking forward to hearing your feedback after you'll give it a try.

Thanks Mikey! I thought that it wouldn't be as bad and I am actually going to try to adjust it to see if I will be able to use it.
It`s worth mentioning both pros and cons for both styles of user..

Thanks Yoda!
My xtarlight can charge any length battery in that time 18650 or 18500 or even the smaller one 124
It would be an easy fix or a purchase option to just make battery end caps longer and or deeper to fit 18650's.
They made it already .you can find it on Thingiverse, search for:Frsky Taranis X-Lite 18650 battery adapter
18650 is 65 mm length not 650 mm - always ignore the last 0 with this kind of akkus. Thanks for your review!
Yes, I know. Can't edit my words though :-)

Thanks Pedro. I do think that the X-Lite has a lot to offer, but as I mentioned in my review - I would get it as a second remote, not as a main one.
Good video, ty for the links. I bought one and am very happy with it, might replace the gamble ends.
Thanks, I hope you will like it :-)
Hi! Where can be found such a RF Meter?..
Is it possible to use it in trainer mode with a cable and a Taranis QX7?
Should be possible. Never tried it though.
Good review.

Different desgins, different needs. If you are happy with yours, don't look anywhere else ;-)

Glad to see someone else said the batteries were 650mm long. Not sure why they add that extra zero.
Yes, my bad...
18mm x 65.0mm ;)
Yes, that's what happens when you edit a video at 1:30AM...
the remaining zero shows it's a round cell. 18 = width. 50 = length. 0 = height / 'same as width'
I would love to have one of this radio. You are a fortunate guy thanks that you can do it. Love your channel you are really cool and fly very well. Thanks for your contribution
Thanks for your kindness Iago.
Gal Kremer I would prefer this radio since I'm a thumber. One day I'll be able to buy this guy hahaha or win it in a giveaway hahaha.
I do the modified pinch, but I wanted to try thumbs. That’s why I wanted to try this. Are you going to try thumbs on flight?
I recently made the switch to pinching and I don't think that it's a good practice to switch. between pinching and thumbing. If you can - I highly recommend you to give it a try and hold it in your hands before buying it.

Thanks Terry. I still have mine, but I am not using it, as the X9D Plus is much more convenient for me.
so you have to buy batteries and a charger separately? that is bizarre. glad I found your video so I did not get a controller and find it had no batteries. lol
Haha. I think that the newer version charges the battery internally using the micro USB plug.
I currently use a FRSKY FST6, do I need anything else to bind my current receiver?
Are you sure it's not a Flysky receiver?
Lol, if translated directly to norwegian, your name means "Crazy Creamer"!
Love it! xD
That's funny. I will need to consider it as a new nickname ;-)
Pinch flying with gamepad alike Tx 😂😂 good review tho
Can you change in the menu eu-version and international?
I believe that you will need to flash a different firmware.
Would you need to put crossfire on it?
Nevermind looked it up 😅
Cool. You can check out this video: ruclips.net/video/oUdg-NJ5sjA/видео.html
The easiest way today is to use the CRSF Nano TX.
@@KremerFPV Do you have to have crossfire to use the tango two without a multiprotocol module?
@@coltonrooster No, it has a built in Micro v2 tx.
@@KremerFPV I'm sorry I meant do you have to have a crossfire rx, sorry I worded that weird
Man it looks cool!!!!! I do like it!!
GREAT REVIEW!!
👍😀👍
Hi Gal I've just got my x lite from banggood it come with no EU firmware on it an I'm form the UK does it matter mate
Hey David. Jus make sure to purchase non eu receivers ;-)
Can you you change the firmware on the receiver if it EU will work mate
I am pretty sure that you can but I haven't tried it.
Hope it serves you well friend.
Will this work with d8
Yes.
3:30 can I select mode 3 / mode 4 ?
Yes you can
Can you add more switches and use all 16 channels?
It should be possible, but I didn't check this option. For me, extra 6 swithces is way more than enough.
Do you feel any difference with the range between other frsky transmitter?
and does it have better range then irx-ir8m? ( just another thumb flyer transmitter i used) Anyone?

Pay attention. The Battery compartment is thight and short. So called protected Batteries are to long and the lid will not close.
cool video, except you don't show how to set the controller up at all lol, beyond scrolling through the menu
Thanks, I keep trying to improve my videos ;-)
5:40 - Oh wait.... you mean, this X-Lite can be modded to have voice prompts like the X9D and QX7..??
All you need to do is to use a Micro SD card and copy the voice files.
This has bluetooth right?
No Bluetooth
You can use a usb dongle to fly wirelessly in simulators.
hahaha 500mm, looks a wee bit short for that mate!
Yep, I got confused :-)
Not for pinchers !
Install different sticks and it`s fine..
I pinch with stock sticks. He also does in the video. No problem.
shit the package i bought is not giving the screw............ stupid banggood
That's frustrating. Try to email BG and Frsky - I am sure they could help.
You can also try to find a compatible screw in a local store.
