As someone with a culinary degree, who also cooks from home, I don’t think there’s a reason for a commercial grade deep fryer. My reasoning is because us as a viewer would never own one of those at home. Air fryers, instant pots, maybe maybe that amazing round flat top. Nope on the deep fryer. One the most appealing things about this channel is the using of tools and appliances that the regular person can afford and most importantly has space for. It is extremely tough making room for things when you have an apt galley kitchen. I have an electric deep fryer I bought years ago because it was a hell of a deal; about $25. It will fit a turkey. A friend told me a about it when he bought the same one. He's only used his a few times and I've never used mine. In fact, it's still in the box where it's being used a side table next to the sofa. I have no space for it, peanut oil is expensive, and I don't want to use it on my outdoor deck because I live on an upper floor and the deck is so rotted from termites there are spots I can see the driveway below. I'm not spending time out there with an appliance that could send it up in flames if something were to go wrong.
I could see this recipe being used in a small space, but if you have a whole apartment than idk what to tell you man... You don't even need a fryer, just fill a pot with vegetable oil, who says you have to use Peanut? I know it tastes better to some people but definitely not worth just not frying all together.
Commercial fryers are required to have a very expensive fire extinguishing system based upon the use of nitrogen or carbon dioxide gas to starve out burning oil. It is pain in the neck to deal with, and if you don't have one, you can burn your house down if that oil catches fire. I use an outdoor propane barbeque pit almost daily. It is fast, easy, practical, and very safe.
Definitely no on the commercial fryer. A bigger air fryer would be a great idea though. I have a Ninja Grill XL and I definitely could have fit all 3 of those thighs. Thanks so much for this. I'm always looking for new ideas for the air fryer. Temp and time is always the hardest part. It's very easy to over-cook something in an air fryer but I have managed to fix filet mignon to a perfect med rare. It was excellent.
So let's follow your line of thinking. How often do you spend 1000.00 on waju beef to do one of Sam's recipes. Just wondering. Not trying to be a jerk.

One of the key selling points of an airfryer is that you have an equal cooking temperature throughout the frying basket. With large pieces of chicken for instance you don't have to turn them halfway the cooking time ;) For smaller things like fries or potato slices you do need to give them a shake halfway through.
Max, I copy a lot of the meals your dad makes EXCEPT the ones when he uses the deep fryer. I don't have one, and I don't think most other people have one either since the advent of the air fryer. If it can't be pan fried or be done in the little home fryer I don't think it fits in with the focus of this channel.

No, we don’t want commercial grade equipment. We love your show because you show us how we can cook in our own homes. I have used so many of your recipes to make my life better and I have only been empowered to do so knowing how to do it with general equipment because you showed us.
NO. No commercial shit. This channel is supposed to be about regular people cooking regular food with regular tools that tastes great. Everyone has an air fryer. Mine does everything, convection, pressure, rice, all of it. Few people have a deep fryer because it's insanely expensive and a mess. No one has a giant industrial deep fryer. No one buys $2100 meat. Look, it's fun once in a while. Go shoot at the restaurant for a special video. But get back to the roots. Food I can cook that my family will love.
Max, as awesome as it would be to have a professional deep fryer… (which I’m rooting for you to get one) One of the reasons I love your channel is because you break it down for the home chef. I don’t think most of us could afford a deep fryer of that magnitude, not just the initial cost, but the maintenance, and as Sam pointed out, the real estate needed. That being said, I LOVE watching the Traeger smoker, but no way I could ever justify the $4K price tag. Maybe the rest of your audience is stupid rich. Sam, I too am a clean freak and must clean as I work. I haven’t seen it, if it’s in the archive, but would you consider doing an episode on how you clean/maintain your different cooking grills/smokers? Maybe pimp some products? Your shit always looks nice and professional. As always, your my favorite channel. Keep it up!
No we don't want a professional deep frier Max. We dig the channel as clumsy and creative as it is. Where's the empty bottles of Japanese mayo, bring those back!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don't care about a bigger deep fryer. The point of the channel is to show what we can cook at home, right? I don't know anybody that has a big deep fryer at their house. This just proves once again, that Max needs to leave the cooking side of the channel, to Sam, and stick to the editing/filming.
I've learned to air fry chicken breasts as good as oil frying. It's more difficult than air frying thighs, and smaller parts, but once you learn how to do it, along with the right prep and seasoning, it's better than frying in oil.
Sam no we don’t want you to install industrial equipment in your home kitchen. The best thing about your show is people at home can do it. You start using professional level equipment and it’s out of reach of us. Also Ninja makes a combination instapot/air fryer and it works great. Best of both worlds.
Hey Sam. I have almost that exact set up. Only my fryer has 2 baskets. Each holds about 1 1/2 Gallons of oil. Made by the same company as yours. I freaking love it. I got it on Amazon. It might be what you are needing and not wanting a commercial fryer.
No to the commercial fryer, I like watching videos with standard kitchen applicances that I can buy and use in my home. It gives me the confidence to go and use my own cooking appliances. If I wanted to watch commercial fryers in action I would head to my local maccy D's and watch em fry chips all day...
8:01 do NOT skip this step! I didn't have any oil spray, and it was going to be very awkward to coat the chicken with oil when it was freshly coated with the dredge, so I just oiled the air fryer instead (I thought the point of this step was to stop it sticking). Because of that, the chicken was somewhat of a failure - I had to take it out and pour oil on it to get it to work. It was still good, just not as good as it could have been. You need the oil!
I’m your newest and biggest fan! My husband watches you tube all the time and I caught a video or two and I’m hooked! Best chicken sandwich ever! I love your show, your attitude, your interaction with your sons. You rock!
Love your channel for the delicious and easy recipes you're known for...not interested at all in any recipe that requires a commercial fryer, literally no one cooking at home can replicate that so I don't see the point beyond simply doing it for the sake of doing it for the views.
I tell all my friends and family about your videos and even strangers, because I work where people buy food, always referring people to your channel. Love you and your crew! Keep it up! 👍🙏❤
Look into a propane deep fryer. Some have a built in sensor to set the temperature. If your grill and Evo tin on natural gas, you could tie into that gas line. You won’t need 20 gallons of oil and if it has a drain , filter and reuse the oil.

I love to watch STCG every chance I get. Amazing cooking and discussion, makes me happy . Canadian girl.
Perfect timing dad I just bought some chicken breast 😍
I have the Instant Pot Duo 8L and it does everything the standard ones do, but has an additional lid that turns it into an AIR FRYER plus more. I love it!
BRING ON MORE AIR FRYER VIDS!!!!!
Damn. I remember you guys with 100k subs.
So glad for you guys.
I've only seen the thumbnail and I already want this so badly!!! 😍🤤🤤🤤
Its a magical airfryer... Just look at the difference between the chicken on 08:51 and when they get out at 09:25 :) :)
I vote to have Max and Chance to guest cook and Sam record 👍😝
Yes, would love to have MAX SHUT THE HELL UP ONCE up during taping and stop creating really bad distractions that they purposely leave in the edits to make it appear as Max's distractions make for good content.
Sam, you have the perfect frier. Don’t mess with success.
As usual Max is wrong and not aware of what we want!! 🙄😉
I like the fact that you DON’T have a commercial fryer. Let’s face it, most of us home cooks do not have that. Love you guys!
Thanks!
No commercial deep fryer! I like the fact that what you use I can use at home. Keep it home style!
Ninja foodi! 12 in 1 It Does the air fryer and the insta pot functions and more all in one device.
AIR FRYER SERIES PLEASE!!!
i made this recipie for my family and i can tell u from experience it's hella good
I'm with Sam on this one ... NO COMMERCIAL FRYER NEEDED ...
I use kitchen scissor on green onions when I want thin slices like you described. Makes it a lot easier.
No professional fryer needed. Love you just the way you are!
I’m your newest and biggest fan! My husband watches you tube all the time and I caught a video or two and I’m hooked! Best chicken sandwich ever! I love your show, your attitude, your interaction with your sons. You rock!
I just made this for the family. Amazing recipe. You are a wise one young cooking guy.
Do it do it!!! massive outdoor kitchen.
Love your channel for the delicious and easy recipes you're known for...not interested at all in any recipe that requires a commercial fryer, literally no one cooking at home can replicate that so I don't see the point beyond simply doing it for the sake of doing it for the views.
Made these last night! So easy and now will be on the dinner rotation. Love using my air fryer!
Idk how you did it,but now I gotta make this to see how well it does
How was it
@@jasonalchi7139 I haven’t made it yet
I might make Karla's Cream Cheese Dip with tandoori paste instead of curry. Sounds yum. Thanks Sam. Thanks Karla 🤩
Does he post the ingredient list and amounts and instructions?
Didn't believe it would work in an air fryer but tried it today. Absolutely brought the crisp!!!
Hey Sam I just wanted to say thank you for making these amazing videos they are awesome I love watching them with my dad and then trying to make them at home your videos are so funny your not just an amazing cook your funny you make these videos funny to watch so thank you keep making these videos
Thanks Sam, love using the air fryer. Nice recipe. Maybe air fryer set to 400° might have worked better from my experience. Air fryer workes great for sausages too.
Adding to my RV recipes, and I so love your 12” pan. Baked a chicken in it first thing!
a larger deep fryer for when you are doing a bunch of stuff for your own ease is fine imho. it doesnt have to be commercial. it could just be a larger one there are very affordable large deep fryers that people can get so i dont see an issue with it
