- Join me in making the world's simplest big wooden storage box, which will be used for garage storage. It's not classy, it's basically wood n screws, but it was still fun to do... Enjoy!

Liked just for the tape ruler tomfoolery at the beginning.
8:27 Not an idiot. A genius for showing the rest of us what to avoid. Cheers!
The introduction to the video is fun 😂
Love the video! but we need measurements!!! lol. Can you make another just like it and include them? haha
I'll try. You're the best. Greetings from MX City
The Music Is Just As Soothing As Making This Storage Box , Very Nice
Thank you Daniel!
Your Welcome Sir , If You Don't Mind Me Asking , What's The Names Of Those Tunes That Played In The Background?
@@DanielMartinez-xy5mk The first one is called Campfire Song, but the rest are as much a mystery to me as they are to you! All of them are RUclips royalty-free stuff, that's all I know
Hahaha I love how you acted surprised in the begininng. lol
Great item to have and easy to maintain.
Hey, everyone makes mistakes. Thanks for candidly showing us your error so we can avoid that. Nice trunk, all in all. :)
Speak for yourself. I never make mistakes. Thats why when ever I have a pencil I always bite the eraser off and swallow it.
Wheels on the bottom to help move it around. This is perfect, I knew it wouldn't be too difficult to make.
The buyer didn't want the wheels, but yeah it would have made lugging it around a whole lot easier!
Great video 🤣🤣🤣
Making plans to build a sitting bench for a room in our house. It will also serve as a secret storage bench. Looking at 5 ‘x 2’x2’. Gonna be a fun project. Thank you for sharing your project build. Excellent ideas!!
Good to hear mate, and good luck on the seat - that's a great idea
Awesome video!!! Great editing and great music!!
trying to figure what song is at 7minutes in?
@@aaronhenderson8564 No, I just enjoyed the music.

Thank you for the instructions, I want to build one of these for my man cave!
Thanks for commenting, reaper. Good luck on the ol' man cave!
@@SimplyWoodworking do you have any designs for an office desk? I would love to learn how to build one for my office
@@reaper-sz5tm Sorry no, but it's worth having a ponder on it for a future vid. Cheers Reaper
Nice one
Nice one mate , like it 👍🏴 ( more simple projects like this please )
I hear ya...cheers for commenting Rich
@@SimplyWoodworking welcome bud 👍
Like your video. It's very entertaining. Going to make 2 of these to store dry goods in. Like noodles, flour, cereal, etc. That way the mice or critters can't get to it as easy. Was thinking of adding casters on bottom. What you think? 4" x 4" piece of 1x4 wood at each corner. And 1" casters or wheels. Thanks!
Sounds good, Nadine, my version didn't need casters, but it seems like a great idea though! Crack on - let me know how you get on :)
Just the job great
Great job
Thank you!
love the music
Thank you, John!
What was the second tool you used, after drilling the hole?
8:13 keeping it real. At least in my experience.
So, this is newbie me asking this since I don’t know this(but should since I work in a hardware store), but what tools did you use for this or would you recommend? I see a cordless 3/8 Drill (I assume) and a right angle screwdriver along with a chopsaw/miter saw(?) and square..and also, what screws would you recommend for this?
Hi Jessica. It's really very basic (as much of my stuff is!). I used a palm router for the lid edge too, and a chop saw cos I had one, but you can get away with the most basic stuff - saw, screws (wood screws ideally, but any will do so long as they're long enough) and a square. It truly IS Simple woodworking. Thanks for your question!
Nice video
👍
You had me at hello
I would love to make this! Could you tell me the measurements of the wood?
Not from memory, and the trunk has gone on to its owner, so sorry no. However, it's 4ft wide, and width and breadth were just based on the width of the planks (keepin' it simple!)
Good Job, what would you use to prevent rain getting in if it was used outdoor. Thanks
I'd use lots of an outside varnish to seal it, but I'd also make it better Maybe some lining?
who did you order your lumber from looks good
Joj, čudovito. Takoj danes bom naredil tako skrinjo. Hvala.
To je zelo prijazno od vas dan, hvala!
is it what is called number3 pine?
What bit are you using after you drill your pilot holes?
3mm I think.
Thank you for the comedy. Secondly thank you for the sound example to make a chest easaly
And thank you for watching, Mark
do you have measurement list?
How much do you this weighs? I would love to make this for my balcony but it has a wheight capacity of 200kg/m2
It;s not too heavy, it's just cumbersome. Certainly not 200kg!
what song is at the 7 minute frame?
I’m learning lol what’s the measurements 😊
Can you do a plans list?
Sorry, I remember the trunk was 4ft long by 2 ft wide and 2 ft tall., but I can't remember anything more specific... It was a while ago now!
But thanks for watching, Shynol!
How big the trunk thank you
4ft by 2ft by 2ft I think. Really simple! Thanks
@@SimplyWoodworking thank you good day 🙏😘
Fun to see you use skrews. All the ather guys use nails.
Good job … rough and
Minimal tools and supplies … hate the diy projects that have some guy using 10000 dollar machines to plane and 1000 dollar gadgets to transform the wood when the average diy guy is working with a mitre saw and a drill … cheers
I feel your pain, it's why I started this channel! Thanks for commenting.
I gotta ask, does changing your shirt multiple times during the build provide some benefit?
It is well known in secret woodworking circles that changing your shirt frequently makes your chisels sharper.
@Simply Woodworking man thanks so much, I was wondering how that happened! Got any tips that make your "Chisel" a bit longer
@@robsim4692 I've heard wearing a hat will do that.
Ad wheels bud
if the client had asked for em I would! Thanks for commenting, it's appreciated.
When you're chop saw is to small, don't flip the board over to match the cut silly. Just lift the uncut edge while raising the blade. TUHDA!
That makes sense. Love the info, Jesse! Thanks for commenting

Great vid, but wish you would have shown how you got the sides to stand up while you put the ends on.
Ps, watched it about 8x
The way I was gunna do it vs the way you did it makes me feel stupid
Haha
It’s so nice to watch “non-stodgy” woodworking! A refreshing break from the sickeningly well equipped elitist shops! Loved the project, and, unusual for me, the music! I do have a bitch though! At 4:00, that diagonal brace attached to the leg on your table isn’t locked in! Due to severe OCD, I will not be able to sleep until you secure it, so please lock it in and notify me so I can get a good nights rest!
Absolutely right, Tom. it is bent so it can't lock in - like an over-extended leg! That bench is so solid it's absolutely fine, but it has been retired now, as it was very old n rusty. Good spot though!
Music is seriously annoying! But enjoyed your video.
Yeah maybe annoying, but one has a format!
10:56 worst place you can possibly put a handle on
once the box gets filled they will come off easily
Seems to be working fine so far. Thanks for the comment! SW
@@SimplyWoodworking well, hopefully it keeps working fine, just if you moved it and the handle came off please let me know, just for the fun of it
