Deli while sitting in the porch surrounded by bugs: it’s a fight for my life Me: *laughs* Me: *realizes she lives in Australia and it was, likely, an actual fight for her life*
There's a thing called companion planting, the idea is that the invertebrates eat the companion plants instead of the crops. It keeps the wildlife and you happy :) there are loads of guides online!
Watching handy deli protect her plant babies was very relatable and entertaining 😆😅 My level 1 handiness self was impressed though! We love an independent wah-man!
I just love watching you do anything. I find you so calming, and your videos always cheer me up if I've had a bad day. Thanks Deli, James and Bowser (aka my favourite family)
Two nice people with a nice dog doing nice things and when most needed you become an angel who cooks lasagna for your neighbours ♥ I think your vlogs are one of the most comforting things ever created here on RUclips. God bless you both!
So thoughtful of you to make lasagna for your neighbors! I have watched the farm serie too, there goes so much thought in owning farmland. My grandparents unfortunately passed away before I got interested in gardening and farming, they had pigs and grew their own vegetables.
This was a good mash up of different things! For your bug fort, it may be more sturdy in the wind and stuff if you ziptie the top spot where the two poles cross (where they make the x) that’s what my parents did at least similar to a tent where you tie it there! All in all looks amazing! Cant wait to see if you have beat the bugs on this one!
I work in plant research and 'organics' is a really big pet peeve of a lot of people I work with. While we are very against pesticides, organic is a label that is super misleading. Thought I might write a comment about it because it's actually quite interesting to read about (at least I think so 😂) often organics are still pretty dangerous chemicals and also still bad for pollinators. Not to mention causing the same 'leaching' into other ecosystems. We can all only do our best with what is available though!
Neem oil is a good natural pest repellent, but you have to apply it on overcast days or early morning or evening when the sun is not strong. I am very jealous of your garden boxes. I live in the desert so outdoor gardens are not easy to maintain.
The great thing about gardening is once you buy all the things you need that first year- the following years aren’t nearly as expensive lol. You’ll be a pro in no time and it will just be a part of your normal lifestyle 😊
as someone who just started anti-depressants for anxiety a month ago after a long time of trying to get better without I would be really interested in hearing more about your journey! I hope all goes well for you, try not to put too much pressure on yourself though! I love your vlogs
back when i was young. the internet wasnt around back in the 80s, so we had to play outside alot. but now that im older im like you. i need my internet.
Loving these Vlogs. So funny Deli asking James about the drill and impact drill haha too cute. Also love the little clip of you two having your coffee at the little cabin. Too cute. 🥰🥰🥰
Omg Clarkson's Farm is hilarious. I love it. I went through the most horrible withdrawals from the last anxiety/depression meds I was on. Dizziness so extreme I couldn't walk or function. It took literally weeks for the effects to subside, because I went off them cold turkey when the free samples the clinic was giving me suddenly weren't available anymore and I couldn't afford to buy them without insurance. (American here. Our healthcare sucks.) I do not recommend just quitting. Ever. I will never take those damned things again. Tapering off is the way to go. Good luck, and I hope you can get free of those meds. There are others available if you need them that aren't so awful. I am doing fine these days without any.
Hi Deli! They're white butterflies and are a massive crop pest. I've heard white oil can keep them off, you can make your own! Half a cup of dishwashing detergent and two cups of sunflower oil and spray on the plant. It's safe for bees just make sure to do later when the bees are not around. Netting works great too. They infested my broccoli a few years ago.
I usually get a cheeseburger sub Mac sauce and you could probably add lettuce, also I seen when cutting your onion you started crying and if you put a moist paper towel down near the onion it will help absorb the fumes so you don't cry because onions attract to moistness, that's why it makes you cry but with wet paper towel it helps draw to that.
I feel so proud of Clarkson for the farm work. I know I get hate for it, but I enjoy the old top gear and the Grand Tour. You could go down to bunnings and get a spray, most likely White Cabbage Butterfly who devour the cabbage family. But they hate a white net.
2022 is Deli's year, she looks so amazing!! like she is 24 again, I need to take her advice with focusing on health. I want to do a 8 weeks challenge too
Aw thank you! Such a lovely compliment. The 8 week challenge I do is expensive but I definitely recommend even just aiming yourself to improve general health and well-being! It’s just a matter of making new and healthy habits :)
Coming off anxiety meds can be a weird one, it tends to get worse before it gets better! I started came off mine three months ago and still have some wobbly days, just listed to your body and do what is right for you!
Hi Deli! Caterpillars hate the strong smell of chives and sage. So it helps to place these around your other plants. In return you could maybe plants something else for the caterpillars to actually eat and some nectar flowers for the butterflies. This way you can let nature run its course and enjoy some pretty butterflies in your garden aswell 🥰
I'm watching all of this in preparation for making my own vegetable garden this spring in the northern hemisphere. It's so ingenious to use a netting system like that. Good luck with your crops!
Thank you for being so open about your mental health journey! I am on anti-depressants for anxiety and I just started a few months ago. Would love to know more about your personal journey with them.
It sounds like you have Cabbage white butterflies. They lay eggs on Cabbage, kale, broccoli, all the brassicas. So far the best methods I've seen to get rid of them are to either place netting covers over your plants, or to just pick off the caterpillars before they chow down on your plants. Your garden looks great by the way!!! We just started ours here in the western part of the United States, my plants are all still small. Edit: I wrote this before watching the whole video. lol 😅 I love the Bug Fort!
That looks like the larva of the cabbage butterfly. They are very common, and as the name suggests, they love snacking on every cabbage plant. Remove as many as possible and check underneath the leaves for eggs. Cover the plant in netting or thin fabric that lets the light trough ☺️
Love watching your videos deli. You and James and bowser always make me laugh 😂 I always like to watch your videos when I need some cheering up!Thanks for the amazing videos and vlogs. 👏👍😁
Dogs actually do have best friends. My dogs best friend is my dad and with my mom's dog, I'm her best friend. She gets so excited to see me and gives me a ton of hugs and kisses that she never gives my mom 🥰
Can you please keep us updated with the anti anxiety/antidepressant medication process. I’m in the same situation, tried to get off before but have struggled. Would love to see your progress 😊
Best thing growing up when my grandparents passed away. People delivered us food constantly which was great because my brother and I were 9/10 and then 14/15 and my dad being an only child had to deal with everything so we were able to eat for a week or so without having to stress my parents out more.
That’s really lovely. I’m sorry to hear about your grandparents passing and that it was a difficult time for your dad and family. I think delivering wholesome food can help 😀 even if it’s just to know someone is thinking of you
Best of luck with adjusting your medication! My boyfriend was on anxiety medicine for years and it was starting to make him more anxious and he couldn't stand it anymore and went off of it. He seems less anxious now than when he was on his medication. So obviously everyone's body is different but just liaten to your instincts and you know whats best for you :)
yayy I love longer vlogs! that lasagne looked bomb! don't worry about the gardening, your learning everyday a bit more from every experience. Your level bar is growing :)
Love these vlogs and also top gear is hilarious especially the travelling specials :)) love your content you inspire me and your channel is such a safe space!! xo
I had to net my garden this year as well. I've had squash bugs in the past and the squirrels and raccoons in my yard LOVE to dig through my garden. Those rascals!
Loved the video! One thing that I do for my garden is get tulle fabric at the fabric store. It is quite affordable and easy to spread over any of your garden boxes 😀
I took anti-anxiety meds for years and started coming off of them in November 2021 and I’m still in the process. I tried to push it faster than recommended because the withdrawal feels so awful, but it only ended up making it worse in the end. My advice is to take all of the time that you need. If it feels like you’re doing it ridiculously slow you’re probably doing it at the right speed. Good luck Deli! ♥️
Hi Deli thank you for your videos they have been cheering me up, my cat is poorly and it’s been very upsetting and hard, I have watched both you and James on YT for a few years, I was on ssi medication (for anxiety) for about a year and a half, I tried once to come off and it didn’t work as I also think it was too quick, I did come off them successfully though! I just took it very slow (I think it took about 3-4 months) just be patient and kind to yourself 🥰 I love growing vegetables (I live in Cornwall U.K.) I remember the first year I grew cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower and I got so sad when they got attacked by cabbage moths, I didn’t want to use any chemicals etc so i started reading and learned that if you plant certain plants along side the brassicas it really helps and stops them, I plant thyme, lavender, onions, garlic, or marigolds depending on what I’m feeling like😊 anyway thank you again and have a great day
Proud of you for trying again to go off your meds!!! Please update us how it goes, I did it a few years ago and it was so hard but it was worth it in the end and I was proud of myself for getting through it!
I’ve started weaning off my antidepressants a few weeks ago! Make sure to be super patient with yourself and take the time you need if you struggle with withdrawal, I should’ve been more kind with myself! Wishing you all the best and that it’ll go smoothly this time! xxx
Love Clarksons farm!! It's such an entertaining show. Also feel you with the anti-anxiety meds, it's so hard to go off them and really messes up my moods but I'm hoping you have better luck this time! So happy you're back
I had similar bugs on my roses! They were impossible to get rid of x.x I had to spray my rose bush with slug killer because no natural remedy worked for me and It took a year to recover. Those caterpillars will spread like crazy!!
Am going through anxiety medication weaning from one to an other (me and my partner want to start trying for a child and my current medication is not safe for pregnancy.) It’s very tough so I hope your weaning will go well and it would be interesting to hear about your journey.

I know this is late, but what is eating your cabbage deli is "cabbage moths". Aka the pretty white butterflies you see fluttering around the garden.. as worms they completely infest your brassicas. Grossly, you have to manually pick the worms off and the eggs and it's a never ending job.. I used to be a personal landscaper, and it always was a daily thing 😂
Coming off anxiety/anti depression pills sucks… had some bad advice from my gp who said come off straight Away the withdrawal was so bad I felt so rubbish. Had to go back on them, they are my little “crutch” at the mo but would love to hear your journey with it all. :)
You can pick the catapilars from them and throw them away. You could use some tabako, ash or grinded Coffee or pour some hot water on tansy and wormwood. the brew should draw for at least 3 hours, then spray the plant with it. Alternatively, lure their predators into the garden, such as the parasitic wasp ^^
Level up in gardening, now deli can "spray for bugs" 🤣
