I love how the planters reminds me so much of the sims planters lol. Every time Deli is gardening I imagine the little exp bar on top of her head going up. Watching these vlogs are somewhat like watching a sims gameplay IRL LOL I hope I'm not the only one
I think James just knowing you had your eyes on them was everything, he’s so amazing with gifts and surprises for you, I’m so happy you have great family, friends and boyfriend, you’re living your best life and I’m genuinely happy for you, I’ve been watching you since sims4 came out and watched you flourish, happy birthday to you and sending hugs and positive vibes from me to you and your family.🥰💝🎉
Thanks Felicia, this is such a kind comment! Thanks for your support ❤️ james is very thoughtful. The shoes were very generous… I just need to find a place to wear them now 😀
The mulch goes on top of the potting mix, protects your soil from drying out too quickly, and helps protect seedlings from pests. I also started my gardening journey this year and there is so much to learn, I feel like I'm constantly getting stuff wrong.
@@Delidiary It is meant for the top, but you can put it in the bottom. It shouldn't cause mold. It will break down and become future compost. Just expect to add more compost in the future as the mulch breaks down and as your plants grow as the soil level will drop over time.
When James was questioning you when watering the planters I was fully expecting you to spray him. Slightly disappointed you didn't tbh. Glad you had a nice birthday!
You did a great job with the garden, just a little tip though; don't plant the seedlings too deep, because their crowns might rot when they're covered in wet soil. I noticed your rhubarb plant had the whole crown submerged, so it might be good to pull it up a little :)
Good job on the boxes! Putting mulch on the bottom helps with drainage and adds height so you don’t have to use so much soil. You did great. Signed, a professional gardener. 💚
I find your vlogs so relaxing to watch and positive. You have good vibes never let people get you down or criticise you for being YOU u are gorgeous in and out!
Loved this! Also happy to hear you’re empathetic for your neighbors. I had a neighbor who would call the landlord every day and also said my dog attacked her because she didn’t like the puppy…luckily we were out of town the week she said my dog attacked her so there was nothing pressed on us but we moved shortly after because it was so hard to handle a puppy who was never alone before being alone for the first time and having the added stress of a neighbor being angry at us 24/7…
I love everything you said about dogs barking. I have a rescue that's no more than 1/8th any breed but one 1/8th is chow chow and the other breeds she is are also dogs more prone to barking. I had a neighbor call the cops on me shortly after I first got her because she was playing with a ball. She was still a young pup and was just dropping the small ball onto carpet from 10cm. It was before our apartment complex's quiet hours too. Our neighbor called the cops on us instead of knocking on our door. Cops found weed when they got there and I ended up kicked out of "uni". I eventually moved states, graduated, and got my med card and a job for a boss that doesn't care that I have a connective tissue disorder and need a card.
I have to say your gardening seems fantastic. I'm not an expert but your way of moving the plants looks really good to my eyes. They will definitely thrive in the new home with lots of space.
I really enjoyed this video! If you like sunflowers then you should visit the sunflower farm up near Ballarat when they open to the public next season, you'll get some really nice photos up there.
Plants can be so funny and dramatic, I repotted my dwarf sunflowers yesterday and two of them flopped over, put some sticks for support and watered them, two hours later removed the supports and they’re happy as anything 😂
I'm 33 and I can handle one glass of wine only before falling asleep. Welcome to the club! haha And if I have more than that I definitely feel hungover, sometimes for multiple days.
Deli, you make me feel so motivated to trying at my hobbies even when things don’t go as planned. It SNOWED today and I lost some plants, but that’s part of gardening.
If you have any banana skins put them in the bottom of the hole when your replanting something, it’s so good for them and alway water well after replanting helps minimise shock.
Everyday water the garden, we keep our garden fairly wet. The only time we DON'T water is when it rains for obvious reasons. Just need to make sure it gets daily water..we typically water until there is a little standing water. This of course depends upon the time of the year too..for you guys it might be a little late to be planting for a garden, but as so long it doesn't get too cold it should be fine. :)
I really enjoyed watching the gardening part of the video. I'm not a gardener myself, but Deli has such a calming tone of voice, and gardening is such a simple activity. I feel like so many RUclipsrs are so high energy all the time, that as someone with a chronic illness, I love them but it can be tiring sometimes. Love a good calm vibe. 😊
Don't worry about putting to much into high planters, it's all gonna sink together. My mum filled ours last year and we thought we put too much in but now you have to reach pretty far down to get to the plants
Me too Deli, Me too. I am tempting fate if I have more than 1 drink. I was slightly hungover for a few days due to 30th birthday celebrating and the experience was humbling
There is so much on gardening when looking it up on the internet. So true that you just need to trust your gut sometimes and see how it goes! Even if you "kill" it, you are learning and growing! I'm happy to hear your Salvia is making a comeback haha!
Omg I was so sad Deligracy stopped vlogging and had no idea she had another account! Welp, time to binge hehehe. These vlogs make me feel more motivated, so thank you for these!
I love your new channel Deli! I love seeing yours and James life together and your beautiful home and all of your content makes me so happy. It always feels like I'm actually hanging out with you guys ^_^
Ugh, the struggle to start working out again after you've broken the habit is HONESTLY. SO. REAL. 😭 I got covid a few weeks ago and I was quite sick and weak, so now I'm struggling even with basic yoga sequences I used to do every day because I get tired really quickly 😔 Seeing your self-care journey has given me so much motivation over the past few months, so hopefully I'll find my strength again soon 🥰💙
I was so confused about the audio until I realized I needed to put my right headphone on. Lol it figures your talking was only coming through the headphone I wasn’t wearing. Love the video, Deli!
Deli! I’m the same way with alcohol! I know you’ve spoken about anxiety, not sure if you’re medicated, but I know my medication for my anxiety makes my alcohol tolerance horrible! Glad you had a happy birthday, and I’ve really been enjoying the vlogs!
Ah yes! I do have medication, but in the past it hasn’t been this low tolerance - I think it’s because I went off drinks for a long time so body really doesn’t like it.
I was told not to mix grapes when I have wine, so it's best to have the same type for both glasses, not white and red. However, I used to drink 2 glasses without issue and recently I find some do give me a nasty headache so that may be a change in my body. Anyway loving these vlogs!

Happy Birthdayyy! I've been following your channels for a while now and can really relate to the whole anxiety /sims /dog /gardening thing :P I started gardening about 2 years ago and it's so rewarding, plus it's just great being outdoors for a bit. In the future, you should put some gravel at the bottom of the planter boxes to allow for water to seep out of the soil and it doesn't get waterlogged = mould issues for the roots.. Don't worry, its all trial and error haha My advice, get one of those 'Gardening throughout the year in Australia' books, they have a step by step guide on what to do each month :) Good luck!!
Drainage -> soil -> dig hole -> worm casting/compost sprinkle -> transplant -> mulch on top. Drainage to prevent root rot, soil, compost for nutrients as the roots begin to grow, and mulch on top to protect the soil from drying out too fast or burning Also, Happy Birthday
Hi Deli I am an indoor plant mum from Scotland, our plants also grow fungi but what you can do is mix some cinnamon in with the soil or on top as it’s a natural fungicide and doesn’t hurt the plants
Did anyone watch this with headphones? When I watched this with my headphones on, when Deli talked it would only go in the right ear and when James talked it would go in the left ear. Not sure if it’s me or not? Loved this video! So calm and motivating and I want to start gardening now! 😊
I wouldn't be too hard on yourself about the wine. Sometimes, depending on the type of red wine, its harder to digest through your body because of something called tannins which develop during the wine making process. Some people even get severe migraines from drinking red wine.
Dirt goes down; Mulch goes on top in between the plants, to keep in the moisture -- unless you guys down-undah do the opposite of us in the northern hemi :D. It's a charmed life
Your gardening looks very impressive and professional! You said you wished you'd live on a farm.. well to me it looks like you kind of do on a small scale? I can imagine 5 years from now you know exactly what to do and hopefully your backyard-farm will be thriving! (or you have found another interesting hobby, who knows) And I think your shoes are SO CUTE! ♥
Fungi isn’t good. It means overwatering. You have to clean them or else your plants will die. Replace the soil and lightly hand wash the roots. Always water in the morning but not everyday. They did look great. And I just wrote all that before we got to replanting lol
One thing I’ve learned from gardening with my mum is that when you have brown dead leaves on your plants pull them off and turn them back into the soil because when you take them off the fresh leaves will be able to grow better. Also for roses put hamster bedding around the bottom so that in the frosty months they don’t die off. Love watching you’re videos there very relaxing and funny too.
deli is right, gardening is all about what your gut says. just like every human is different, every garden is different and no book can say exactly how to plant in YOUR garden (for millions of reasons) so just go with that feels right
Hearing you talking about what you went threw with Bowser barking and separation anxiety made me remember my own experience with my puppy (she's turning four this year) and it was very similar. I also just stayed at home most of the time. Now she can handle a few hours by herself and it's great for both her, me and my husband 😁
That’s great news. Yeah it was so hard, I didn’t talk about it at the time but my anxiety was intense. It took a while but he’s fine being home now. I don’t blame the dogs, it must be hard to understand what is happening!
@@Delidiary I think I cried everyday for two weeks when we first got her. It was so hard but at the same time, it's all up to us as owners to try and make the best enviroment we can for them. Like you said, they can't help it, barking and all, they're just little puppies.
i have to stop at 1 drink too! anymore and i get a headache. (i'm 39, so i guess it'll get worse for you, haha) It's spring where I am so I will be planting veggies soon, maybe... if it ever warms up and stops snowing! I did plant some seed potatoes last weekend... never grown those, we'll see if they sprout. (gardening is so much easier in TS4)
I would plant the rhubarb in a corner of your backyard instead of taking the valuable real estate in the garden box. When the stems are thick (about an inch) and red then they are good to harvest. 👍🏼
Love the garden inspo, I’m doing my second year of gardening this summer! I live in Finland where the climate’s pretty rough so I’m very limited on what I can grow in my backyard but it’s still super fun and rewarding! The only things I can (easily) grow outside without a greenhouse is potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce and peppers. Anything else is really up to what our weather’s like that particular year so I just decided to not bother with the more sensitive plants. Last year I had 20-something cucumber plants die and I just can’t deal with that this year 😂
Rubarb, if it likes the place it is, grows massive, so if possible, plant it straight onto the ground. It's lovely to look at too not just for eating. My grandma's rubarb grows leaves that are probably the size of a small coffee table 😂 It's huge !
Deli has definitely reached gardening level 3 or 4
Ooohh I reckon I’m almost at 3 🤣
I love how the planters reminds me so much of the sims planters lol. Every time Deli is gardening I imagine the little exp bar on top of her head going up. Watching these vlogs are somewhat like watching a sims gameplay IRL LOL I hope I'm not the only one

the mulch on the bottom shouldn't cause problems, from my experience anyway. It should break down eventually

the sugar mulch goes ontop, it helps protect your new plants and breaks down slowly providing nutrients for the plants. Potting mix goes under it

Anything else is really up to what our weather’s like that particular year so I just decided to not bother with the more sensitive plants. Last year I had 20-something cucumber plants die and I just can’t deal with that this year 😂
I love this channel, its a great chill pace.
I had severe anxiety before watching but halfway through I’m so calm, so Thankyou Deli 🥰
Rubarb, if it likes the place it is, grows massive, so if possible, plant it straight onto the ground. It's lovely to look at too not just for eating. My grandma's rubarb grows leaves that are probably the size of a small coffee table 😂 It's huge !
Omg, ok might need more room then 🤣
Feel like I may try my hand at some gardening after watching this! Looks awesome 🤩
