    Gave you a thumbs up for draining the oil without making a mess. I installed the Ronin drain plug on my Mustang GT 5.0 with its plastic oil pan.

    Turbos need oil and filters change 3k to 4k miles. According to my technical high school auto instructors. 7k to 10k will wear the engine out early.

    I was waffling between the 2.7 and the Coyote on a 22 but this has firmed up my go with the coyote approach. I am not big on the plastic oil pan or drain plug and they made the pan metal again on the Coyote with normal spin on metal oil filters. And I hope the new piston rings solves the oil use problem with the Coyote. Good video on the oil change BTW.

    • @mattwagner8965

      The coyote has a plastic oil pan and drain plug too I had 2 5.0 go with the 2.7 you won't regret it

      I'm pretty sure all F150 engines have plastic oil pan. I've decided to go with the 2.7 when I order my XLT supercab later this year. It's a better built, less complex engine than the 5.0 and has similar performance, better fuel economy. This is the most reliable engine available in the F150, based on warranty claim numbers.

      @@dlg5485 I had 2 5.0 a 2012 and a 2018 they are phenomenal engines but I just recently purchased a 2021 with the 2.7 and it's absolutely amazing I actually prefer the 2.7 over any engine options they have but they are all good

    I've always noticed when I put six quarts in that it is slightly over. That has always bothered me .I don't know why Ford recommends 6 quarts

    Have you looked at the Ronin drain plug for this engine? It seems to be a solid design and a huge improvement over the yellow one from the factory, but it is expensive. I change my oil frequently because I drive a lot, so it might be worth it.

    • @BigbeardMN

    Hello Dan. Thank you so much for all the information. I bought a brand new 2016 XL, 2.7 Ecoboost then, and I traded for a 2021 STX, 2.7 Ecoboost in October of 2021. For the years I owned the 2016, I changed the oil and filter myself. It's good to know that in changing oil and filter will be the same in my 2021. I kept two filters on hand and a spare housing just in case of unexpected problems. As of now I have a FL 2062-A and a FL 2062. I wonder if I can use the FL 2062 in my new truck? Thank you in advance, and I'm much appreciative for your instructions.

    • @rolandalaniz3678

    Love my eco boosts but would never ever run synthetic blend is any vehicle I own. Spend the extra few bucks and get full synthetic. Blend is mostly crap conventional. Especially turbo charged engines

    With ecoboost engines oil change intervals need to be under 5000 miles closer to 3000 miles because it being turbo charge.
    Per. Ford boss me RUclips channel.
    He will tell you why

  • @peterreichert2104

    Pretty sure you are supposed to change the O-ring on the drain plug as well...

    • @level5599
      @level5599 2 года назад

      I bet it’s fine if you don’t every oil change but eventually you can push the tab on the plug up or down and you’ll know if it’s bad if oil seeps through

    • @Lee-zi1zb
      @Lee-zi1zb 2 года назад

      You should replace it entirely once a year. I bought a 3 pack off Amazon for like $10 and when I put a new one in it was not wiggly at all. It was nice and tight. The old plug that had over a year on it was very loose…
