you are the best brother, I spent almost 1 week trying to solve this problem I thought that my charger was failing or that the battery had been bad, until I found your video to save me almost 100 dollars with which I thought to buy another charger when it was only modify the voltage input on the radio control seriously thank you very much
Could you please tell me how to charge this thing. I bought an e680 SKYRC charger but I can't connect it cause it has an XT60 wire and this battery not, I can't find right wire to connect them. From 2p to xt 60 .
Thanks for the video! I have the x7s and have the nimh as a spare and a lumenier 2100 life battery as my main. For my range, I put it to 6 - 6.8 as it drops from 7.2 to 6.8 nearly immediately.
Normally I use the battery pack that came with the Q-X7 but if I have to charge it it's nice to have the tray for AA's. Also, on page 1 under radio setup there is an inactivity alarm you can set. Thanks for the vid man.
Thanks for posting this review! I like rechargeable/replaceable batteries much better than the standard AAs... I'll have to check my Hi-Tec X2ACplus to see if it does the LiFePo variety... Keep doing the good that you do!
I'm a little concerned about plugging and unplugging the battery from the slot over and over - possibly compromising the connection to the board. Is there an adapter you can use to make the battery connection happen off the board?
super late reply. but you can easily make a 2s Male to Female lead, so the female side becomes sacrificial and the internal socket doesn't get damaged. Though considering how infrequently you're going to unplug something like this you should be fine if you're careful.
I assume the setup values depend on the battery type. in my case, I've got a Gaoneng 3500 mah LIHV 2S 7.6 26.6wh battery, and though it works, and I've done the setup 6-7 and 6.2 warning, whenever I start up the taranis, it always says low battery warning, and proceeds to show me a full battery icon at 8.3v...
yep fitted a 2000mah in my new Q7 and reset the battery on page one and surprise it works a treat and you dont have that voice telling you that battery is low
That is one of the advantages of the LIFE battery. You can leave it in the radio and just charge as needed. It’s more stable than a LIPO. The biggest benefit is that it was available before you could buy the NiMH one by a number of months. :-) Also more chargers have a LiFE setting than a NiMH setting.
@DroneRacer101: Hi, I have the same battery and transmitter as you. But I have maybe problem with charging/setting parameters on transmitter. When I'm charging my battery I set up these parameters - LiFe / 2.1A / 6.6V (2S). I'm not sure if the battery is charging completely because it never showed me more than 89%. In the video you said that when the battery is charged, it should have 7.2V. But I did not see this value on my transmitter. When I look at the transmitter Settings (Calibration), I have there a value 6.56V. It is correct? Thanks
I have the exact same question. I am new to this hobby and this is my first LiFe battery. When I charge it to 7.2 V, it shows at 6.6 V when placed in the transmitter. Is this normal for a LiFePo4 or is it faulty? Any help is greatly appreaciated :)
I bought this battery based on this review. I’ve found when battery voltage is below 7V range is severely affected. I need to keep battery charge above 50% for reliability. I’ll probably go back to rechargeable AA batteries for piece of mind. Anyone else find this?
Thanks for the video. I just bought the Qx7 as my first transmitter ever. It doesn't even have the option to use AA batteries. I need to buy a battery ... so, more waiting to fire this baby up and try a Simulator. Can you recommend a cheap charger? I'm so confused on what I actually need. I've never done any this before so I'm trying to keep my costs down to see if I'm actually going to love it or not.
I don’t really like it, but this is still probably the best default “cheap” option. bit.ly/iMaxB6Charger and bit.ly/IMaxB6Power5A But, this is what I use every day. bit.ly/ISDT-D2
So I bought that charger .. and a battery .. there doesn't seem to be a connector that works with this charger so now I need one more part? You would make a killing putting together a kit for beginners like me .. two weeks of research and waiting for deliveries and still haven't been able to do anything yet.
*works with this BATTERY (the FrSky G-2000 LSD for x NiMh AA2000mAh 7.2v.. I bought the power adapter so don't want you to think that's what I meant. Thanks
will this charger (HOTA D6 Pro AC 200W DC 650W 15A Charger With Wireless Charging for NiZn/Nicd/NiMH Battery) charge this battery? it says Compatible with Various Batteries - The innovative intelligent program fully supports LiHv/LiPo/LiFe/LiIon/Lixx. but still im not sure.
HELL YES, just bought that radio and I was wondering if I needed to buy rechargeable batteries, turns out I can just put some AA batteries in there and im ready to go
@@KiwiNationz just found a fix so you can buy these 6 AA battery holder power thingos at a electronics shop like jaycar, if the port is different just find a 2S lipo balance lead and solder the positive and negative wires on. Or if you want to save the hassle just buy 2s lipo online for around 10 bucks but check the dimensions of it so it fits.
yep, the S model does, I still have a hard time with the price of the S model though. It's $100 more for $50 worth of Gimbal upgrades and a battery. IS there anything else special about it?

I use the LiFe battery's from the beginning for the Taranis Q-X7. They work like a charm :P
once you put rechargeable battery in can you charge via usb without taking battery out...or do you have to buy a separate battery charger?
Can you connect it with your 4s LiPo battery which you're using for flying your quad?

Just got one you're right
So annoying
fr? crap, lets see if I can use the one on my DX6, my qx7 should arrive in about two weeks, so guess I will find out when I get it
Is it dangerous to keep the battery fully charged in the radio if you don't use it very often?
This battry is awesome I put it in my radio and it works perfectly thanks for posting this vid!

This was very helpful. Bought the same battery, thank you.
EDIT: I have CRSF and this battery drains FAST. Don't buy it.
When you calibrate it do you put 7.2? Because using 6.6 will show the battery half way when is full
Lipo is cost effective! The biggest plus.
Don't feel bad. I have been known to leave a radio on and forget to turn it off myself.
thanks man!
This video helped me out with this battery.
Bought the same, just start with fpv =]

How do you charge it?
yep fitted a 2000mah in my new Q7 and reset the battery on page one and surprise it works a treat and you dont have that voice telling you that battery is low
Have u seen the new FrSky Horus transmitter? It looks so good. The golf and the black though 😍
New version of QX7 has charging port on the right side. Can this port be used for charging this battery?
When I plug in my crossfire the voltage drops so low idk what I can do
Same here! I bought this battery thinking it would be enough juice but it's not. It actually sucks if you have CRSF.
I use the tinyhawk 2s USB charger to charge my NI-MH AA2000mah 7.2v
Is that a bad idea? It’s worked for a year now haha
Do you still need to discharge this battery like a traditional lipo? Can you leave this battery in the radio?
The other question I was wondering is what is the benefit of this one vs the Frisky NiMH one? Sorry very new to the hobby.

How long will this battery last for my taranis?
hi, thanks for the video. Can I change the black connector with a classic JST connector? Red with red and black with black? Thanks :)
Absolutely
I just bought this controller off amazon and they didnt include a battery tray. Did yours come with one?
Mine did. But I have heard the new ones don’t.
Thanks for posting this review!+ - even without pulling off the line, with the balance as the line Is there a problem?

I should probably say, I actually bought this battery 6 months ago when there were not really many good options. :-)
What battery do you recommend now?
I still prefer the 2100 life battery
I don't have one but would probably buy this one. bit.ly/QX7Battery-GFPV

Wow!! That battery is £60 on amazon uk (aprox $72)
What is the Max Voltage allowed on the Power Input of that Xmitter ??
+lasersbee 6 - 15 Volts. For a 3S you would have to change the connector.
Thanks for the info and reply... I was aware of the 2S connector on the PCB..;)

What is lithium iron?
It’s the compound used in this battery. It has a lower voltage. But holds that voltage better. Hense why it is good in radios like this.
Seams heavy 😋😀

I use the Aloft kit with eneloop nimh and they work great.
Thats not a Li-oN battery it is A LiFe. Go for 2x Panasonic Li-oN - much better than LiFe or LiPo. The new X7 has provision for them
This Battery is LiPo no Lithium ion.
2100 milliamps is very little!!

Lithium Ion, not iron.
Nope. LiFe. Lithium Iron. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_iron_phosphate_battery
