  • In this video I am photographing waders using the OM1 and the 150-400mm F4.5 lens. I spent a weekend in Norfolk, and visted three bird reserves. This video deals with shots taken at RSPB Titchwell. This was a weekend organised by Nick Bowman of the RPS Nature Group, and about 15 of us met up for a very enjoyable weekend. Pictures taken at RSPB Snettisham and Cley Marshes Nature Reserve will feature in my next video.
    Music in the video from RUclips Audio Library :
    Track 1 :
    Title : If you close your eyes I`m still with you
    Artist : Late Night Feeler
    Track 2:
    Title : Lullaby
    Artist : JVNA

    Great video, stunning images! I have to say that curlew in flight was absolutely beautiful! I went there a few weeks ago and the island hide is really good. The Avocets and black tailed godwits were very close and easy to take shots of and the shell ducks were not to far of. Lovely photos roger, look forward to seeing the next video!

      @@rogerhance5883 its a great place! just as a video idea.. i am going to Natural surroundings tomorrow.. a place in Norfolk thats basically lots of wild flowers, meadows and gardens to walk around. There are feeders at the start with lots of activity and posts that the birds land on producing some nice images. Theres a hide by a river were there are apparently lots of owls, kingfishers and otters visiting! Its a great place and theres lots of shots from macro to birds in flight to get.Highly recommend checking it out and maybe popping in for a visit and a bit of cake, have a good evening roger, James.

    Hi Roger,
    Thank you for your time and for sharing the wonderful pictures. I notice that you are using the olympus 150-400 pro lens in this video. I saw a video of your reviewing the 100-400 in your back yard. I own a 300 mm pro and the 40-150 mm pro lenses and the 2 TCs. I enjoy taking wildlife photos with them, lately I’m looking to buy a long reach zoom lens. I’m not sure whether to get the 100-400mm lens or the expensive 150-400 mm lens (had saved money so can afford one). Given you have used all 3 of the long lenses I mentioned, I wanted to get your thoughts. Appreciate your time.

    • @rogerhance5883
      @rogerhance5883  10 месяцев назад

      If you have the money, dont even think about it. Go for the 150-400mm. The 300mm is very good, and as sharp as the 150-400mm, but the flexibitlty to reframe with a zoom it so important. Its also F4.5 through the range of the zoom, and the biult in extender is a godsend. The 100-400mm is good for the money, but its not in the same class as the 150-400mm. Are you in the Uk ?

      Thank you Roger. Appreciate the suggestion. I’m in Melbourne Australia. The light is fine in Summer but other seasons it is going to be low especially in the morning and evening, during which only the bids will be active.

    Another excellent video Roger. Some super birds, footage and stills. I was trying to work out the birds plumage, are we in April, or just now? FWIW. The RP is definitely an LRP, the yellow eye ring is the major give away.

      @@davidosborn3356 I was also surprised at the number of waders. It was an RPS Nature Group weekend, and as I didnt have anything planned, I thought it would be nice to go. We all met up at Snettisham on the Saturday. Although Snettisham is more of a winter bird spectacular, it was nice to see the waders in their summer plumage. Are yyou going to the Launde meeting in October ? It would be good me meet up and have a chat.
