Very nice Roger! You have captured some very pleasing images of these shore birds. Gosh, I wish I could afford that 150-400mm -- what a beauty of a lens -- maybe down the road a bit!
Amazing fooage! Birdwatchers' paradise, so many rare waders... I wish I had at least one of these species where I live. I'm jealous 😂 Curlew in flight was great but piping oystercatchers looks splendid as well. Thanks for sharing, Roger.
Thank you very much William. I sometimes wonder if its worth doing these videos, especially as there is quite a bit of work involved. When you get comment like yours, it makes it all worth while.
Great video, stunning images! I have to say that curlew in flight was absolutely beautiful! I went there a few weeks ago and the island hide is really good. The Avocets and black tailed godwits were very close and easy to take shots of and the shell ducks were not to far of. Lovely photos roger, look forward to seeing the next video!
Thanks for the very kind comment. Glad you liked the video. The Island hide can be very productive, and as you say, the Avocets and Black Tailed Godwits can come very close.
@@rogerhance5883 its a great place! just as a video idea.. i am going to Natural surroundings tomorrow.. a place in Norfolk thats basically lots of wild flowers, meadows and gardens to walk around. There are feeders at the start with lots of activity and posts that the birds land on producing some nice images. Theres a hide by a river were there are apparently lots of owls, kingfishers and otters visiting! Its a great place and theres lots of shots from macro to birds in flight to get.Highly recommend checking it out and maybe popping in for a visit and a bit of cake, have a good evening roger, James.

Hi Roger, Thank you for your time and for sharing the wonderful pictures. I notice that you are using the olympus 150-400 pro lens in this video. I saw a video of your reviewing the 100-400 in your back yard. I own a 300 mm pro and the 40-150 mm pro lenses and the 2 TCs. I enjoy taking wildlife photos with them, lately I’m looking to buy a long reach zoom lens. I’m not sure whether to get the 100-400mm lens or the expensive 150-400 mm lens (had saved money so can afford one). Given you have used all 3 of the long lenses I mentioned, I wanted to get your thoughts. Appreciate your time.
If you have the money, dont even think about it. Go for the 150-400mm. The 300mm is very good, and as sharp as the 150-400mm, but the flexibitlty to reframe with a zoom it so important. Its also F4.5 through the range of the zoom, and the biult in extender is a godsend. The 100-400mm is good for the money, but its not in the same class as the 150-400mm. Are you in the Uk ?
Thank you Roger. Appreciate the suggestion. I’m in Melbourne Australia. The light is fine in Summer but other seasons it is going to be low especially in the morning and evening, during which only the bids will be active.
Another excellent video Roger. Some super birds, footage and stills. I was trying to work out the birds plumage, are we in April, or just now? FWIW. The RP is definitely an LRP, the yellow eye ring is the major give away.
Thanks David. These were taken early July. Thats for the idnetification on the LRP. Someone else picked that up and pointed it out. Unfortunately, my bird identification is not perfect !😂
@@rogerhance5883 Thanks for your reply. I was thinking it was late summer but it really seemed very early to have such large numbers of waders back. Thanks.
@@davidosborn3356 I was also surprised at the number of waders. It was an RPS Nature Group weekend, and as I didnt have anything planned, I thought it would be nice to go. We all met up at Snettisham on the Saturday. Although Snettisham is more of a winter bird spectacular, it was nice to see the waders in their summer plumage. Are yyou going to the Launde meeting in October ? It would be good me meet up and have a chat.
@@rogerhance5883 After the stroke I’m afraid I don’t drive long distances on my own anymore, so I’m afraid that I’m not attending the NPP get together. It certainly would be nice to have a catch up, so give me a call the next time you’re due up north. I’m guessing the next time will probably be seal time which isn’t far away.
Cracking shots Roger.
Thanks Pete. Glad you liked it. I am uploading Part 2 tomorrow evening.
Great video Roger, love the curlew calling in flight shot. All the best, Steve.
Thanks for commenting Steve. It was a fairly productive weekend, and the Curlew in flight was the icing on the cake. All the best for 2024.
Have a great 2024 yourself Roger, cheers Steve.
Top work. Especially the Curlew in flight
Thanks for the kind comment Stephen. Much appreciated.

Usual high standard, I think your RP is actually a LRP ;-)
