Last year I contacted the the relevant UN dept and the DAG Library and I have all those historic documents in my email inbox direct from them . They scan them all in and sent them to me and it reveals that they absolutely knew what they were doing . It wasn’t a matter of leaving when they realised they had made a mistake . They left once they were exposed and then lied as to the reason , which was not a justified reason to have joined anyway . If you behaved like that in a Judicial committee, you would be disfellowshipped for lack of repentance

I remember around 1978/79 seeing pictures in the Awake magazine and underneath them in very small print the source acknowledged to be the UN library so they were using the UN library many years before becoming an NGO.
WT apologists like to explain away WTs NGO status with the UN as necessary in order to gain access to the library. Not true. What you just posted here backs that up. WT was _already_ using the library prior to 1991, so there was no reason to join the UN as an NGO. Besides, considering how WT has viewed the UN for decades, it doesn't matter if the UN had the greatest library in the world. That fact could never justify joining the UN to use the library, even if that was true.
They have always used non Jw sources like british enclopidia(leksicon) jewwis sites artikels a statements from expert supporting their understanding of the scriptures. I've had a few discussions with JWs about WTs being a member of the UN, and the JWs just shrug their shoulders in apathy. A couple of them already learned about this years ago, but it didn't make them leave the organization. JWs are as hypocritical about their beliefs as WT is.
Now I understand why, some years ago, a bethel trip and tour planner, an elder, would d always take the tour bus of witnesses to the UN building for a tour even though that tour was not listed among the itinerary of the daily tours. Most of the witnessed were puzzled and angered by this stop. A few would get off the bus and do the tour. It all makes sense now.

I often ask JW to read their favorite text about the Governing body in Mathews 24:45- together. They always stop after verse 47...but I say that we should read the rest of the chapter and ask "what are the sign that the governing body is a good slave and as Armageddon is late...what could be a sign that they could be an evil slave?". I ask them to think about it and that I'm curious about any examples of possible signs of evil? I often say that I will be back to discuss good and evil signs... This is a perfect way to make them look at the whole context and what the whole passage says, not just a pick!

Although it's beyond a doubt that Watchtower was an NGO member of the UN, it's still not clear to me what their motive actually was. They claim it was so they could use the UN's library, but I have heard that the library is open to anyone besides NGOs.
I think there may have been money involved. Also, there would have been advantages to getting missionaries into some countries. The end does not justify the means.

I for myself been absent for 16 years. 2007 is when I left. BUT I never knew that the Awake supported the UN. It never came into question. There's a lot of information in this video . I may need to watch this one over again. Although I read the Awake I found the articles were informative and explained certain topics. And Questions from readers. I talked to a circuit overseer today, in the UK. He said that when he and his wife were at Gilead, training to be missionaries in 2006, it was part of the curriculum to learn about how affiliation with the United Nations "worked well for a time to send missionaries in some countries".

I feel saddened by their willingness to look the other way, as both men are well aware of the "very special blue envelope" and did not take a stand for what's right. Amazing analysis, unfortunately most jws won't even see this out of the fear of "apostates" and many of those that do will probably find a way to block it out of their minds. For me though it just amazes me to think the governing body doesn't believe their own lies, that was always something i wondered this shed some light on this issue. Within the context of this video and the intent of the GB, a Gilead graduate of the mid 1980's who instead of being assigned to a foreign field was instead assigned to the US 🇺🇸. He/they were quite disappointed and when I had a temporary Bethel assignment I asked people about them...long story short in conversation with him he told me that part of the Gilead curriculum was to take a tour of the United Nations. I found that quite curious at the time 🤔 but again in the context of this video the intent of the Governing Body has been made quite clear and it existed for some time before they actually joined as an NGO. The most dangerous belief is based on Romans 6. That death covers the person's sins, so when they die they are free of their sins. This is a lie and makes Jesus's death useless. We will answer for our deeds on the judgement day, our death won't free us from anything. That way we wouldn't need Jesus's sacrifice. Only through him we gain salvation.

I remember growing up in the JW faith due to my parents. In the 80's...they claimed the end was only days away, that Satan planted dinosaur bones in the ground to fool us, that rock music was evil. I also noticed that there was only a handful of the 144,000 (rement left alive from 1914.) Even back then I knew it was a cult. Today, after studying evolutionary biology, playing drums and doing albums with rock/punk bands, I'm a thankful atheist who has lived my life so far to the full. You don't need a 'fairytale cult' in your life to be a good person.

Its not difficult to find errors in the teachings of not just the JW's but all religions! For example the 'orthodox' teaching of all catholic and most protestant churches is that though Jesus died as a Jewish human, they believe he was not only resurrected in the SAME body, but in THAT FORM, ascended to heaven, and sits at God's right hand as a human! ( So if he is the 'image' of God, God is a six foot Jew in heaven!) I kid you not! just check the official church teaching. It NOT what the bible teaches about Jesus!

Plagues of the two witnesses are in good supply..as over 100 years has passed since 1919. Theres no change in the arrangement for worship which God has in place during the last days, in the temple of revelation 11..it remains in plsce beyond the time foretold when God brings ro ruin those ruining the earth (rev 11:18) The bride of the Lamb..is doing her best to be spotless and unblemished.. That time is fast approaching.. Food is trickling from the temple.. Where is the most dramatic effect at that time though ? Far far away from the temple..whetr apostates are ..in the dead sea.. Hey Eric, I wondered if you could make a video about lessons 46, 47 in the Enjoy Life Forever Interactive Bible Course. They're about baptism but don't mention Jesus' name. I think the earlier lesson on the ransom barely goes into its sin atoning value, which really is no wonder as it doesnt apply to the "other sheep". Also, baptism is first introduced in the book before the lesson on Christ's sacrifice ... pretty much putting the cart before the horse. It seems to that baptism is promoted primarily as a dedication to the organisation. I'd be interested in your thoughts on this.

Unfortunately, JWs don't care. I've had a few discussions with JWs about WTs being a member of the UN, and the JWs just shrug their shoulders in apathy. A couple of them already learned about this years ago, but it didn't make them leave the organization. JWs are as hypocritical about their beliefs as WT is.
Now I understand why, some years ago, a bethel trip and tour planner, an elder, would d always take the tour bus of witnesses to the UN building for a tour even though that tour was not listed among the itinerary of the daily tours. Most of the witnessed were puzzled and angered by this stop. A few would get off the bus and do the tour. It all makes sense now.

I often ask JW to read their favorite text about the Governing body in Mathews 24:45- together. They always stop after verse 47...but I say that we should read the rest of the chapter and ask "what are the sign that the governing body is a good slave and as Armageddon is late...what could be a sign that they could be an evil slave?". I ask them to think about it and that I'm curious about any examples of possible signs of evil? I often say that I will be back to discuss good and evil signs... This is a perfect way to make them look at the whole context and what the whole passage says, not just a pick!

At that time, WT taught that Jesus returned in 1874, meaning WT wasn't looking for Jesus' return in 1919. According to WT, Jesus would return and 3.5 years later would inspect the earth for his true servants. If he returned in 1874, that time had passed.
Another claim of WT is that the Bible Students were the only ones on earth anticipating Jesus' return in 1914, so of course he would choose WT as the true religion. That's a big lie! No Bible Student/JW was looking for Jesus' return in 1914, because they all believed he had returned 40 years earlier.

I for myself been absent for 16 years. 2007 is when I left. BUT I never knew that the Awake supported the UN. It never came into question. There's a lot of information in this video . I may need to watch this one over again. Although I read the Awake I found the articles were informative and explained certain topics. And Questions from readers. Within the context of this video and the intent of the GB, a Gilead graduate of the mid 1980's who instead of being assigned to a foreign field was instead assigned to the US 🇺🇸. He/they were quite disappointed and when I had a temporary Bethel assignment I asked people about them...long story short in conversation with him he told me that part of the Gilead curriculum was to take a tour of the United Nations. I found that quite curious at the time 🤔 but again in the context of this video the intent of the Governing Body has been made quite clear and it existed for some time before they actually joined as an NGO. I remember growing up in the JW faith due to my parents. In the 80's...they claimed the end was only days away, that Satan planted dinosaur bones in the ground to fool us, that rock music was evil. I also noticed that there was only a handful of the 144,000 (rement left alive from 1914.) Even back then I knew it was a cult. Today, after studying evolutionary biology, playing drums and doing albums with rock/punk bands, I'm a thankful atheist who has lived my life so far to the full. You don't need a 'fairytale cult' in your life to be a good person.

Hey Eric, I wondered if you could make a video about lessons 46, 47 in the Enjoy Life Forever Interactive Bible Course. They're about baptism but don't mention Jesus' name. I think the earlier lesson on the ransom barely goes into its sin atoning value, which really is no wonder as it doesnt apply to the "other sheep". Also, baptism is first introduced in the book before the lesson on Christ's sacrifice ... pretty much putting the cart before the horse. It seems to that baptism is promoted primarily as a dedication to the organisation. I'd be interested in your thoughts on this.
