I was disfellowshipped for speaking to the elders. I told them that I had studied and found out the false doctrines that tje GB teaches. I wasn't specific on what exactly but I told them I had notes and I could prove to them. Next thing I get a call from an elder and tells me I would be disfellowshipped. They didn't even asked me what I thought was false, they didn't even want to hear it😢

That's terrible. And I'm hearing that basic response from elders in many life experiences of ex-JW's and their kangaroo court judicial committees. It' s all over RUclips. Like Brother Wilson says here, they can't defend their positions with scripture, only man made rules in their elder book.
When I was studying with them, after a while, I decided not to get baptized
Because, I was taught that, if I think any differently from the witnesses, I would be disfellowshipped
I had to keep my mouth shut when it came to dating, for example
I was 21 when I stopped attending meetings altogether
It's a good thing I never got baptized
Because, I would keep questioning them, and they would scold me
@cheneethompson5756 A brother that was studying with my husband straight out told him that if he wanted to become a JW he needled to obey the GB no matter what. And that he didn't hve to question anything because they were Jehovahs annointed people🤨. And that he had to trust them regardless. In that moment my husband knew he will have nothing to do with them. Unfortunately, it took me many more years to wake up and stand my ground. Jesus is my only Lord & Savior. Not a human nor an organization

Excellent video, I have debated with my JW family and debunked every article they have sent me and in the end they told me " It's a wonderful organization". I pray for my family to seek salvation through Christ rather than an organization.
All worshipers of Christ are as fundamentally flawed as the Witnesses, just in their own ways.
@@joeldb That maybe true of others but not with Witnesses. I was one from 1970 -1991 and during that time I experienced teaching that don't make sense. Here are a few examples
* 1975 Being the end of the system (Bible says nobody but the Father knows the day or hour)
* Christ being just an angel
* Doctrine around being annonited
* Doctrine that says that a group of men are like the voice of Christ.
* Doctrine that Christ came back invisibly and ruling in Heaven ( The Bible states signs and wonders and that all shall see him.)
A flaw would be a misunderstanding ,crazy doctrine that goes against the bible that is something else.
It is a brutal indoctrination plus their use of subliminal messages; this sect practices sorceries (Revelation 18:23), idolatry, etc. The Bible tells us that that’s how the nations were deceived. Revelation 18:23; Revelation 12:9. That’s why the title Mother of the prostitutes fit its profile. Their followers are like drunk with all their false teachings and practices. Like Jesus said they are blinded by these wolves in sheep clothing.

Revelation 17: 2-15; this man of lawlessness is so wicked 2 Thessalonians chapter 2;
Revelation 18:24. That’s why we need the holy spirt . We need to continue praying for those who don’t have the holy spirt and are still trapped because they have been deceived regarding the holy spirt too. As Jesus said we are protected by the holy spirit.
John 14:18-31; 16:13-15;
Also 1 John 2:26-29 gives us the clue why the holy spirit is vital in our lives.
Otherwise people will receive the mark of the beast Revelation 13; Revelation 17:2-17

Excellent. Thank you for bringing up this subject. In the 70’s, when I was a JW, I didn’t even know there was a Governing Body. I truly believed it was all Jehovah. I never paid attention to an Organization. Now, it’s all about the Governing Body. That’s pretty much all that we hear. Wow. When did it happen. Slowly. Subtly. Pervasively. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. And to think of those men treating their flock so harshly sickens me. I call them the collective “Wizard of Org”!❤

Yes. We never knew who the Governing Body was back then. A while back, Samuel Herd said in a talk that JW parents would urge their kids to write to the Governing Body. I was shocked.
Closer to the end, their falsehoods and evil wants become more readily apparent. Satan is indeed shrewd and sinister. He infiltrated the Organization, and like a frog, being boiled one degree at a time, slowly over time. Lucifer has cooked the organization and its membership.
The lesson, Christ’s Church is whoever worships faithfully. They might reside in many “churches,” its membership among those who never met. Yet are united by their love for Christ, and their adherence to his Word.

Many JWs are not my brothers because they do not act as real brothers towards me and my family, and many individuals amongst catholics , baptists, evangelists seem to have authentic love for fellow christians, even if they have doubts about their own organisations. We cannot judge anymore people on their religious affiliation, but on their personal faith and love
That ‘bow down’ part in the revelation book is extremely telling on how the governing body see themselves. Wow!

Good points outlined in an easy to understand manner. In 1999, I complained of what I regarded as excessively flattering praise of the UN's UNICEF arm, in the Awake magizine. Soon, I became aware of the WTB&TS actual joining of the UN as a non-govermetal organization. Also I complained of an inordinate amount of praise of Al Gores' environmental policies. This resulted in an uninvited visit to our home by the Elders. They asked why I was complaining. I answered the Holy Spirit, pointed this out to me, & it conflicts with my understanding of Christian neutrality in political affairs. They firmly asserted, " the governing body is the only source of information", & then demanded to know," was I loyal to them?" I answered, my spiritual loyalty is complete towards God, not to mortal men in New York City! They started to rebuke me in the strongest terms, when I interrupted their response, & unceremoniuosly ordered them out the door. I became free from their "spell" that day, & never looked back!
This is the sort of story that illustrates how a JW can be disfellowshipped for the slightest divergeance from the Governing Body's "information". Do they claim to be inspired by God. Oh, no, of course not. But can you disagree with them? No, of course not,... not unless you are ready for them to make your life miserable.
How did you find out about their dealing with the UN back then? I’m curious because I only became aware of it after many years later when more info was coming out online
My mom, in her 80s, was born and raised in “The Truth” and has her entire life vested in it and makes excuses for every questionable teaching. The Governing Body now has Papal level reverence and authority.

My mom is not quite that age, but she’s spent more than half her life in the religion. I was a born in, served as an elder and left on own volition 2 yrs ago after catching WT in a blatant deception both in a WT article and their 2021 Annual Meeting. If I didn’t have those older publications in hand, I wouldn’t have known about the deception.
That led me down a rabbit hole, b/c I’ve always been taught if someone lies about little things, there’s a good chance they’ve/they’ll lie about bigger things, & just wow.
I attempted to have open & honest dialogue w/ both my parents, w/ my father being a fellow elder. I showed that the org teaches Jesus is not our mediator despite what the Bible says. I showed them a July 2011 WT article showing our obedience to them affects our salvation. I showed them where they removed the word worship from Jesus in the scriptures, & used the phrase “substitute for him” only in the NWT. I proved scripturally, archeologically, secularly, mathematically that 607 BCE is a false date made up.
Literally none of that mattered; the only thing they were concerned with was how the friends viewed them, & it wasn’t my place to question The Faithful Slave.
It was a very surreal & scary moment, and after hearing Lett say babies should be addressed as Little Enemies of God, & to hear the friends in the review say that was a good point they never thought about, I knew I had to leave.
Your words 'The friends wouldn't like it ' hit the nail on the head. That is what they are about. FEAR....

My wife and father do the same, with the UN situation she said they must have a reason 🫣 I showed her the revelation book and asked who is that sitting on top of the UN building, she said false religion. I said exactly that you!

Wrong Giv Bidy and elders are not God and we would never think of them as such. Only one true God Jehovah. I am with gratitude fir the GB and I live my religion.
However, people who live the Trinity Doctrine even though it was never heard of until 400 yrs after Christ died have plenty of religions to choose from. If you like false religions then go for it.

I was VERY VERY fortunately to have parents that pressed upon me, that the TRUTH had to be my own and to QUESTION EVERYTHING to ensure that the TRUTH was in MY HEART and MY OWN. I no longer attend meetings, but read the Scriptures, pray , even do my own little memorial service. I believe with ALL MY HEART in Jehovah and his ONLY begotten Son JESUS who was sent to SAVE us and show us the TRUE WAY OF WORSHIP. I still speak to some of my family and friends who are JW's (by the way I class myself as a JW as I witness about Jehovah and our King Christ Jesus) and make this observation: They speak LESS of Jehovah and JC than I do. When I ask, have you prayed to Jeh about your problems, or a view on world events...they ALWAYS refer back to what the ORGANISATION will say in due course to sort things out....AND cop this they are AMAZED and BEFUDDLED that I can love and speak about my faith so freely and NOT want to go to Meetings.....They Just DO NOT get it or UNDERSTAND ME. They think that because I refuse to attend now, that I have turned my back on Jeh, JC and the Scriptures and believe differently and have become oh so worldly...??? Yet unfortunately, I find them to have become less reliant upon the Word of God and faith in Jah than I have....I know I have a good heart condition and I trust in Jeh I JC with ALL MY HEART as I know the word of GOD is what is FAITHFUL and TRUE.....I watched the Royal Commission into Child Abuse here in Australia and I WEPT many tears !! I asked Jeh, how he could let this happen and be represented by such people who say they are his direct link to us here on earth....I know the answers will become apparent , ALL in Jehs good time. I know there are 10's of Thousands of us out there who WILL NOT give up the FAITH and did not deserve to be thrown aside and I know that in Gods heart and memory we sit awaiting the rule of his son JC and we will be blessed as will ALL THOSE who love God. ❤😊

Hi Sonia, you seem to live your faith in a very genuine and intimate way. I appreciate that so much and I fully understand you when you are confronted with people who didn’t seem to feel any faith in God anymore.

You described it so well, I'm exactly in that situation. I told the elders:
1. Jehovah's organisation never equals Jehovah. It was Jehovah's organisation that killed Jesus, let alone the modern day blunders.
2. Faithful slave that produces food or Arrogant Master that issues orders? 2 Co. 1:24
3. I have no human head as Jesus Christ is my head and mediator. 1 Co. 11:3
Jehovah is my shepherd, Jesus is my head/mediator/ransom and the Holy Spirit guides me into all the truth.

Amen to that sister! I was DF'd 2.5 years ago, and after 3 appeals for reinstatement and either ignored or denied for stupid who knows what" reasons; I wrote the Society an 18 page letter exposing these corrupted elders and their lack of using the scriptures as a basis for shunning me and asking my family and friends to do the same. At the end of that letter, I told them: "Listen, I'm going to serve Jehovah WITH OR WITHOUT THE ORGANIZATION; my spiritual head is Jesus Christ, not the self-proclaimed governing body! I've witnessed frequently to neighbors, friends, etc. and have placed literature and started Bible studies (using the Bible only with topical old books discussing scriptural views) since being DF'd. I have felt and seen the operation of God's spirit on me like never before; and have prayed relentlessly for God to stir up the courage of lovers of truth to remove authoritarian elders and to REMOVE THIS CURRENT SET OF MEN SERVING, TYRANNICAL, PHARISAICAL GOVERNING BODY. I see it moving in that direction as they scramble to change their man made rules to try and appear less strict with the members! And the nations of the world initiate one lawsuit after another!
What got me so upset was when I recognized that JESUS is the Messiah and they have called him by the archangel Michael's name and demoted him from the Son of God our king and ruler. They did wrong by trying to say Jesus is Michael. Jesus, Yeshua, is the lord of hosts, also Jesus said he would not come in secret and that is the whole key of the JW's that Jesus came invisible only to a select few. No, the whole world will see him when he lands back on earth. there is not secret place, no desert place, no place in the wilderness .. he said all these are not him. for everyone will see him and KNOW it is HIM when he Returns to do Yehovah's work.
Not only did they lower the only begotten Son of God to an angel, they have poked him in the eye by celebrating the memorial on Nisan 13 last year and this year they celebrated it a whole month too early. I can't stand their blatant arrogance!

So nice to see fellow elders like myself who don't just critique or criticize the organization, but do as the ancient Beroeans did, that is , "carefully examined the scriptures,....to see if things if these things were so." Acts 17: 11) Earlier in that same chapter of Acts, it was mentioned that the Apostle Paul "reasoned from the scriptures with them, explaining and proving by references, that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer, etc. etc." So yes, I will and have a scriptural defense ready to send the US Branch "explaining and proving by references" why the 3 clowns that were called "Elders" or a "judicial committee", should not only be removed as elders; but also removed from the congregation as slanderers! And yes, the organization of JW's have slowly and insidiously succumbed to the proddings of this self proclaimed "faithful and discreet slave"; effectively idolizing them as God's spokesman, incapable of error or mistakes!
That is not the organization we grew up in is it my brother??!!! 😊🤔😝

Excellent talk Eric, I have gone through the fire. It is obvious the governing body class is a group of men who have run ahead, not waiting for the one inviting them to appoint them a seat, but have seated themselves in the highest position.

The number of rules within the organization is ridiculous and they keep flip flopping makes it clear that they are self appointed and the way the lieutenants (elders ) behave is obsessive . And I never felt safe around them either . How this situation developed over time is interesting and clever .

Great video. Idolatry of the GB for sure! We studied the Revelation Climax book 4 times. 1989, 1991, 1994 and 2007. It's not that I can actually remember it at all, however, you can look it up online. One of the few things not doctored lol.
I show 3 times, because in my book, I was a study conductor then and dated the start and stop points as we went thru the book. I don't show an '89; which makes sense because they released the book in '88. But not to argue over that; I did want to say too, that actually; I wish we would study that book every 5-6 years. The same holds true with the "Daniel" book, the "Word of God" book, and other deep prophecy examination books. Today's governing body and bodies of elders are feeding spiritually baby food and their own exaggerated opinions! I sometimes go to a meeting with my wife and I can't believe the elementary topics they study in the Watchtower. They haven't discussed deep prophecies in over a decade!! No wonder people are leaving! They want REAL SPIRITUAL FOOD and are being served bread crumbs by the "unfaithful and indiscreet slave"!!
I threw away a lot of literature, which I regret now, including both versions of the Revelation book I had. I am bad with remembering what happened in what year lol, so I looked up those dates in the Kingdom Ministries online. April 17, 1989 is when it says the first study started. I do remember a lot of publishers having no idea how to answer in this book or the Daniel book. That's why now they are only fed milk like the new Enjoy Life Forever book. I would be asleep 5 minutes in. 😂

Yes I remember in 2007 we had to paste revisions into the paragraphs! I agree. A couple of people said 4 times but my book is marked with the dates in each chapter as we covered the book. It was 3 times. I was a book study conductor then.

Great video, the older someone is the deeper the brain washing goes and the harder it is to admit they’ve been misled. I remember it took me a full year to even believe all of the information I was finding during my waking up. I was reading and finding Information Almost every day and still I’d make excuses. the hardest part was to admit that the great governing body could actually be wrong and misinterpret scripture.

I could feel my heckles rising when I read the headline. Then as the video started I guessed, correctly, that the idolatry accusation would be to do with blind allegiance to the GB. Its true they are followed blindly, but its not in the remit of anyone to judge anyone else. Wrong or not, even the GB are victims of victims. Anyone blessed with truth outwith the Society should be grateful for their freedom, not use it as a stick to beat their former brothers and sisters. Using advice gratefully received from Eric about writing letters to all i am close to, i am slowly but deliberately distancing myself from my congregation while using every second I have to speak to and encourage freedom in Christ(1Jn4.18). Im still grieving my beliefs though and whether i am DF tomorrow or in 6 months as planned, i will still love every one of my congregation and not use my freedom in Christ to attack any of them.
No one person was judged. The skinned and thrown about sheep may find much healing and support from such. We have all been warned about the wolves in sheep's clothing. The Man of Lawlessness will be revealed. 2 Thes 2: "Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God."
@@mamajan99 The man of lawlessness is not the single possession of witnesses. To single them out would be wrong even though they make up part of that group who have been misled. More important to keep ourselves clean and not be pointing the finger at any one group. Personally, my leading is that we are ambassadors not judges 2 Cor 5.20.
Jesus did a whole lot of finger pointing at those who skinned his sheep! I'll follow his example.

My great grandmother is 103 and she has been loyal almost her entire adult life and when I talk to her she really believes the elders and the governoring body are Jehovah’s channel. To me it’s like believing Jehovah has a telephone and only calls the governing body. Her excuse for any questionable behaviors excuse “ we are not perfect”
I had a conversation about four years ago with an 80 year old JW brother who had that same answer for everything. He had even "perfected" that defense for Watchtower. He gave me the illustration that he, as a business owner, can't know exactly what each of his employees does or says every minute. I had only woken up a couple of months before talking with this brother, and sadly, at the time, I was woefully short on any rebuttals. He hasn't answered his phone since we spoke, whenever I've called.
I never believed the Governing Body
We studied the Revelation book 4 times. The hilarious thing is that by the last time it was studied there were so many revisions and “adjustments in understanding” that it rendered your previously studied copy essentially worthless. Being near Bethel, it became yet another means of judgement if you chose to keep your old book vs. bringing the new book to the book study.
I thought it was four times, but that seems so ridiculous that I began to doubt my memory. I just remember being incensed that instead of studying something truly beneficial like the Greatest Man book, we were yet again studying that stupid book full of outlandish speculation. I remember one friend joking that Armageddon will probably start at Cedar Point, Ohio.
@@BeroeanPicketsI totally agree...why we did not study the Greatest Man book in the book study is just amazing to me, but of course if we had it would have illuminated the the error of the Governing Body as having userpt the position of the Christ.

Jw's practice the first century teachings of Christ. And only what he taught. His two commandments :
1. You MUSTt love Jehovah God with your whole mind, body and spirit..
2. You MUST love your neighbor as yourself.

Something that should come naturally. As my Wife is a witness a few weeks ago in a Watchtower that I overheard it was talking about showing love kindness respecting young and elderly fatherless boys etc .
What a sad state of affairs when you as witness have to be told and reminded to do these things.
True Christians don't need to be told about these things they just do it .
And they don't need to tell others how wonderful they are and count time for it either.
You shouldn't be on these sites unless you are searching for something you don't have a relationship with Christ.
It is absolutely appalling that they tell followers to obey them even if it doesn't make sense from a human standpoint. No mention about using their bible trained conscience to obey after proper examination as well as consideration that they are uninspired and imperfect.
Correct. All the logic they use to convince members of other religions to examine their faith's teachings goes out the window when turned on themselves.
It reminds me of the words of the Apostle Peter, 1: 16, where he said, (NWT)..."it was not by following artfully contrived stories that we acquainted you with the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but it was by becoming eyewitnesses of his glory,..(at the transfiguration). The Watchtower org. seems bent on "artfully contriving " stories through their now elaborate use of videos. They use these videos to dumb down the members, and to sway their emotions instead of stimulating their intellect! Paul said at Hebrews 5: 14 that we all need to train our "perceptive powers to distinguish between right and wrong". That means deep study of the scriptures; thinking critically and logically to allow the Bible to answer it's own questions! Not to "trust in the faithful and discreet slave," no matter how stupid their counsel seems"!

Absolutely love your content. Its just facts. You have so much credibility since you walked the walk for decades and knows the inner politics that govern that community. You may have single handedly spared deception, confusion and heartache for tens of thousands if not more from such an intense religious denomination. For those who have ears and decide to listen. I decided to walk away after more than 5 years of attending. Never committed, but when i decided to introduce my family, i saw such hypocrisy from several elders against me. The mask had come off. They expected for me to surrender to them. Its not in my personality to surrender to hypocrites. Just walked away with my wife just been apointed non baptized publisher. I have no animosity towards any of them. I continue to accept calls from members and will always give them a hand if they ask. Its just thier politics, idolatry of the elders and governing body and the false interpretations of several scriptures that is unacceptable to me, and so will continue to keep it at bay until they change.
I have looked for credible ex witnesses as to why they left. I have found you to be the best example for the right reasons. Others leave because they have the itching ears towards false Christian doctrine that gravitate towards wordly lifestyles they prefer. They dont seem to really believe in GOD or his laws. Only a few like you have spoken up and have not strayed from scripture, but instead up hold it.
Hi, Omar. They are completely the hypocrits that you accurately saw for yourself. I was a "born in" JW. I only woke up four years ago. They definitely want to dominate others. Watchtower stole my youth, my young adulthood, my middle age, and was well on the way to ruining my old age. At whatever age... run from them. Jw's consider it a badge of honor to "turn in" an apostate to the elders.

Thank you, Eric, for this informative video. I am not a Jehovahs Witness. I feel compelled to let you know how much I agree with you regarding this idolatry of the Governing Body. When Witnesses have come to my door, I always show them respect and desire to dialogue with them. Why? Because of the very thing you point out in this video. I find their exaltation of this small group of men idolatry. Just recently, I asked a witness about a scripture she presented to me. She says the Dead know
nothing (Ecclesiastes).
I gently asked her why the Scriptures say something totally different in Luke 16 about the rich man and Lazarus? She promptly told me she had to leave and literally ran to the door. She said she would return with an answer. The following week, she returned with a book that she began to read a lengthy passage from. I stopped her and asked her just to please explain the seeming contradictions . She bluntly told me that the explanation could not be questioned because the Elders told her I needed to blindly accept the organization's explanation regarding this matter. Eric, where has the Witnesses desire to dialogue gone? They can not hear any question regarding their interpretation nor have a friendly discussion. If they have the truth, then why are they so afraid of my questions that they literally flee to the front door?
P.S. I am now shunned by the Witnesses. When they go door-to-door they clearly avoid my home.

You know, I've been browsing through this 'money-luxury' youtube channel and watching pieces on 'old money' [who are all connected to 'secret societies' and 'clubs']...I think the WT 'society' has so many 'classes' now, that this money/luxury channel could do a piece on their 'eliteness'. This is soo true Eric. JWs worship the religion rather then Jehovah. They substitute the governing body for Jesus Christ and they think angels are leading the teaching work rather then the Holy Spirit. It’s unfortunate because the members, no matter how sincere they are, are totally being misled by the teaching of men. Jesus and later Paul reiterated and emphasized not to be deceived by the many deceptions of Satan and unfortunately they did not seem to heed that warning. As always, great video and Hopefully a few will wake up from this religious nightmare. Peace

Speaking as a former Jehovah's Witness, I have to say that you're making a serious stretch here. Just because your interpretation of scripture doesn't jive with that of the Governing Body doesn't make them idolaters. Just because I firmly believe that the JW's interpretation is screwed up doesn't mean that they are knowingly defying scripture to follow the governing body. There are many reasons to detest this cult. This isn't one of them.
And just because you dug up one badly written passage in one of their infinite number of publications that reads "bow down" does not mean that these people are KNOWINGLY bowing down to the governing body. There are hordes of Christian sects with leaders and elders who wield this kind of authority.
Stick to the really awful things the governing body has done, not the misled people who do their bidding.
What was one of the principle causes for which God punished the Israelites over and over ending finally in their being taken to Babylon? Idolatry!

If the Witnesses refused to obey them whenever their instructions went against God's law, they would be a lame duck.
No, my friend, it is the propensity of most people today to blindly latch onto a human or group of humans (Witnesses are not the exception) and give them absolute obedience. They idolize them and follow them wherever they lead.
Only God deserves that level of obedience, because he will never lead us into wrongdoing and into "awful things".
You are 100% correct about everything and I have kinda of thought about it - if JW are correct and being the correct religion gets you into paradise / heaven I worry for my family.

@@BeroeanPickets Food a wife your job regular exercise even if you don't want to do certain things, I've always found Paul's definition about submitting yourself to do something makes you a slave to it, which makes almost any regular and consistent activity idolatry or could the definition change if has to do with setting those things up over God, only if their considered normal activities? Such a fine line to walk. Much like walking on eggshells. Makes you not want to think about it to much otherwise you'd be overwhelmed with a since of paranoia.

Did you know there is a Prophet who came after Jesus called Muhammad. It is an amazing story I definitely recommend.

And according to Islam Jesus is the messiah and he will return again one day . Muhammad wont return he is dead but Jesus the messiah will return. Our CO get worship by his faithful followers. They believe that this so called CO’s are like reverend or bishop that can give them such privilege and responsibilities in congregation or special privilege because they are entrusted directly by the branch. So as I observed a lot are being like kissing their toes just to get what they want and to get praise by others.
