I was born-in. Left in 2018 after waking up and taking on a 4 elder panel in a judicial committee. They would not let me bring my phone, jacket, or bible and notes. But they had all the above. These men tried to push me to lose my temper, when I quoted memorized scripture to them they instead got angry and scolded me for trying to teach them. I told them that yes I am a sinner but so are they. That only Christ can judge us all. They just kept asking me if I believe the GB are Gods channel. I gave them my thoughts and that only Christ is our mediator and leader. They swiftly DF’d me and labeled me an apostate. They throw all logic out of the window. So sad
It's sickening isn't it; to see them placate their human masters, and completely ignore their King, Leader, and Head of the congregation just so they can please men! I was judged during an online video conference meeting that I thought at the time; was just an inquiry into whether I had become intently involved with political activism. All of the sudden the "chairman" just blurts out, .."You are no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses."!! REALLY? YOU'RE TELLING ME WHAT I LOVE, WHO I DON'T LOVE AND FOLLOW; BECAUSE YOUR PERSONAL CONSCIENCE WAS OFFENDED OVER SOMETHING I HAD EVERY LEGAL AND SCRIPTURAL RIGHT TO DO?? I was so shocked that they would even THINK that the minor inclinations I had, made me someone who suddenly rejected God's Kingdom and sovereignty; that I was totally unprepared to refute their slanderous accusation. But in the months that followed, I peered into the elder's manual itself and the Holy scriptures; and have dismantled everything they did and exposed it in an 18 page letter to the U. S branch service department. After 3 reinstatement pleas I have been unscripturally ignored and rejected! And the only reason I want to be reinstated is so I can see and visit with my siblings, dad, children and grandchildren. You want to keep me out of your cult, that's one thing. But to hold my dear family hostage as an eternal punishment; that's quite another! May Jehovah grant you his spirit and goodwill, and may our king Christ Jesus uphold your suffering and comfort you; knowing that thousands of us have been ill treated "for the sake of his name". @serafin1352

I went on to join a Gang at the age of 19 where I continued to be exposed too, engaging in and being part of the things that I hated; nevertheless I've always deeply respected Jehovah God's thoughts and his reflections breathed through and in the life of his Son the Christ. I asked myself regarding my life one day; is this what I was born for? To live, to be happy, to suffer pain, to love and to hate. To watch those who I love die and then to die myself knowing that those who love me will also grieve my departure. One day I bowed my head at the kitchen table bereaved over my lot in life and the inevitable outcome for my son's after me and simply said in prayer to the author of the words that are written in the bible, that I had read from time to time at different phases throughout my life's journey saying; "If you are real, get me out of this damm life that I'm living". The next day I got a knock at the door by the witnesses already vulnerable and primed for anything better than what my life amounted to at the time. They had the bible in their hands and doing what many do in that vulnerable and crushed state looking for hope, I invited them in to share with me from the bible what it was that they could for the moment.The very next day ironically the Morman's knocked at my door also offering the way to redemption, salvation and God's eternal and wonderful purpose for my life. I accepted a bible study from both being resolved in my heart that God would reveal himself to me after putting both to the test. Anticipating that God would answer my prayer I didn't like how one of the Morman leaders who was invited in to sit with me by one of the initial caller's, at one stage pointed to his wealth, his position in the church and even the big SUV truck parked outside my house as evidence that God is with them. I discontinued with the Norman's and went with the Witnesses. Long story short after 10 years of struggling to align myself with Jehovah's way and 4 prison terms later I finally qualified for baptism in 2018. Two years later I was disfellowshiped after first becoming alarmed that the love that I perceived in Jehovah and his Son that saved me from dead work's didn't match some of the mechanical procedures that I began to detect in those with positions of oversight. If I spoke about the various things that I saw it would only lengthen an already lengthy comment so I'll stick to first sharing with a trusted brother some of the red flags that ex elder's expressed on RUclips that ignited my inner alignment with the scriptures. This brother very quickly advised me to stop viewing already in his mind apostate content of which I was not completely surprised as a result of viewing similar experiences on ex JW channels and from what I already anticipated as a baptised brother. I then decided to question the elder that was conducting the keep yourself in God's love book study with me post baptism. Again without a long story getting longer this elder's pattern of response in this scenario rolled out just as Eric would say it would and did. Can a man that previously lived a debauched and destructive lifestyle loaded down with many sin's with much pain be saved by the true God and his Son being made new in him only to be made to feel like my discernment is miss guided and that the love that I see in my heavenly father that saves me from my former life is to be brought to nothing by those who speak against the spirit within me that keeps me alive to this day. So it is in line with the scripture that brother Eric quotes from Mathew 23:1-15. Again if I went on in other areas time itself would over reach me which is why I am great full towards brother Eric because the spirit that resides within me being in opposition to the former that once held me bound to the way of ungodliness rejoices in the things that he brings into the light.Thank you brother, keep on waging the fine warfare with truth and in overturning strongly entrenched thing's with God's power. After some 35 years of indoctrination from childhood, I became so disillusioned with the man-made rules that I found the courage to read Ray Franz’s two books (a member of the GB who’d had the courage to leave it and expose the truth), ‘In Search of Christian Freedom’, and ‘Crisis of Conscience’. I left, although an Elder at the time. Since then, some 30 years ago, I’ve been fortunate to build another life and today am very happy - except that I still regularly dream of attending conventions and being on the house to house ministry. I also carry the burden of indoctrinating my own two boys in childhood which as scarred their whole lives in ways I can never put right. So I welcome this channel, good work, keep it up. What I would say, however, is that it’s one thing getting the courage to leave the curt, it’s another finding a way to heal the psychological damage it has created.

When I first started studying with the Witnesses back in '73, arriving on these shores from Bonnie Scotland, I thought that if only people would listen to these words of truth they would readily embrace it. Matthew 5:43-48 to love our enemies and to pray for them and to be kind to them. Our relationship to God depends on this command from Jesus. I'm still learning how to do this. But I finally see the sense of it. The Holy spirit is manifested through us. It is our devotion to God that makes this happen. If we cannot follow these commands, we are not trusting God. There comes the day we will need to be able to outwardly display this mercy. Are we ready? All of these videos help to expose the lies. And my job is to forgive those who torture my spiritual family.
I agree Kari. And not just forgiving our enemies, but our brothers and sisters also, when they say things that hurt or upset us. We, in turn, need forgiveness, too. What did Jesus say? To forgive our brothers seven times? No, seventy-seven times. It shows the true love we have for each other and not the “love” we thought we had in the organization. When I looked at the "faithful slave" passage in Matthew, as a non-JW it sure looked like a "parable" and not a prophesy". But, a JW elder almost convinced me that it was a future event (prophesy). Later I found a parallel verse that actually calls the "Faithful slave" passage a "parable". Luke 12:40-43.
They talk of peace and security all the time. When first out I was like a meerkat everytime the declaration of peace and security, eventually you realise just how often they say this.
I also think of that verse in Revelation about the harlot confidently boasting that she will not know loss of children, and sits securely in shameless luxury, then in one day, in one hour, her destruction will come. Very insightful scrutiny of the context of Paul's words at 1 Thess. 5. As a long-time active JW for over 55 years, and an ardent student and teacher of the Bible as a public speaker and instructor, myself; I have always felt the way you point out here. Men are always in some way or another, claiming to produce "peace and security"; but it is always a delusion; as the corrupting conduct and speech of the world's leaders continues! Hence, the need to "keep watch", "stay awake" as Jesus and Paul exhort. And hence the need for all of Christ's followers to be like a "faithful and wise steward" or "faithful and discreet slave"! Watchtower has completely missed the point of Jesus' parables and his admonition to not be fooled into thinking that the "day of Jehovah" is here! (2 Thess. 2: 2)
Romans 3:4 "God forbid, yea, let God be true, but every man a liar, as it is written. I believe the full scriptures meaning is only God's word is true and not mans word.( Unless it's God's word spoken). How interesting that in the 1984 edition of their NWT Reference Bible, cross reference scriptures for Psalm 116:11 are Psalm 31:22, Psalm 146:3 and Romans 3:4. However, in their 2013 edition of the NWT, the only cross reference scripture for Psalm 116:11 is Romans 3:4. Looks like they realized those of us with thinking faculties would realize they were referring to themselves.

After some 35 years of indoctrination from childhood, I became so disillusioned with the man-made rules that I found the courage to read Ray Franz’s two books (a member of the GB who’d had the courage to leave it and expose the truth), ‘In Search of Christian Freedom’, and ‘Crisis of Conscience’. I left, although an Elder at the time. Since then, some 30 years ago, I’ve been fortunate to build another life and today am very happy - except that I still regularly dream of attending conventions and being on the house to house ministry. I also carry the burden of indoctrinating my own two boys in childhood which as scarred their whole lives in ways I can never put right. So I welcome this channel, good work, keep it up. What I would say, however, is that it’s one thing getting the courage to leave the curt, it’s another finding a way to heal the psychological damage it has created.

When I first started studying with the Witnesses back in '73, arriving on these shores from Bonnie Scotland, I thought that if only people would listen to these words of truth they would readily embrace it. When I looked at the "faithful slave" passage in Matthew, as a non-JW it sure looked like a "parable" and not a prophesy". But, a JW elder almost convinced me that it was a future event (prophesy). Later I found a parallel verse that actually calls the "Faithful slave" passage a "parable". Luke 12:40-43.

Very insightful scrutiny of the context of Paul's words at 1 Thess. 5. As a long-time active JW for over 55 years, and an ardent student and teacher of the Bible as a public speaker and instructor, myself; I have always felt the way you point out here. Men are always in some way or another, claiming to produce "peace and security"; but it is always a delusion; as the corrupting conduct and speech of the world's leaders continues! Hence, the need to "keep watch", "stay awake" as Jesus and Paul exhort. And hence the need for all of Christ's followers to be like a "faithful and wise steward" or "faithful and discreet slave"! Watchtower has completely missed the point of Jesus' parables and his admonition to not be fooled into thinking that the "day of Jehovah" is here! (2 Thess. 2: 2)

How interesting that in the 1984 edition of their NWT Reference Bible, cross reference scriptures for Psalm 116:11 are Psalm 31:22, Psalm 146:3 and Romans 3:4.
