Hey JT & Lady Cee! Hope you guys are well. So, I'm an HR Group Manager and have worked in Human Resources for some 34 years now. Keeping in mind that Watch Tower is a business in the guise of a religion, this is typical and to be honest, totally expected. It's like in HR, whenever an HR person becomes burnt out, disgruntled or is in a place where their job may be eliminated (not however, in the case of one who simply decides to leave for another job), you ALWAYS make sure that the individual is WELL taken care of (wink, wink) when they leave. Why? It's really quite logical and simple. It's because they know where all the bodies are buried!! LOL!!!
They did the same thing in Brentwood, California, we donated for over 7yrs for a new kh. When the time came they said we needed to pay the loan to the watchtower (interest free) yay. And I was thinking 🤔 "where all that money go??? We had been donating for the new kh for over 7yrs and we still have to pay a loan?? The land was donated, labor was free and we still have to pay a loan????
Building material cost money. Permits cost money. Nothing is ever free despite free labor and land. How Watchtower screwed you in the 💩 🕳️ without lub or warning is that you perpetually have to pay off the loans. So after it is paid off you still got to pay. That is very interesting.
They sold Hall in my town. The newly build. Seems they wouldn't get much money for old. Soy we hade to use Old hall after watchtower sold new one. They told us money went too Africa 😂
in the 80's in Australia we had a different experience. The local congregation saved up over some years and bought a sizable piece of land. The cong then had to save to a goal in order to get a loan from the society to do a "kwik-build" As I recall the total material cost was about $200 K . So the build cost itself was shared between the cong and the society loan which was repaid over the coming years. BTW the kwik build itself was an awesome experience over 3 days. A lot of preparation before hand including the concrete foundations.
I was thinking something similar. Watchtower spent or contributed over $200,000 for Morris’ home. Other Bethelites that left just got their things packed into the car and told to leave; nothing else.

Here I was struggling and down to my last $50 and worrying about my family being evicted and being criticized because I worked 2 jobs and “slacking” pioneer hours when these guys wear suits and jewelry that would’ve paid my grocery and rent for months. A congregation in wokingham uk was an old house that was donated by an elderly publisher and turned into a kingdom hall, no parking. It was very small. Because it was an expensive area the publishers were encouraged over a number of years to donate to improve the hall and widen it and a complete refurb rather than a new hall. The publishers abliged and donated thousands and one publisher left money in their will. Eventually a build was done. Hundreds worked on it. Within a year of its build, it was sold during a culling of kingdom halls in the area. Where do you think the money went?

I knew a couple that was many many years in Bethel and they were told to work in the field. They had to find an apartment,work etc…..and he gets a brand new house to live in for the rest of his or her life! Shameful!

One person's comment said he was a director. I thought that was an interesting comment. Even in office situations that I have worked in, the directors have a prepared sit down hot lunch 2gether every day. Some ofcourse work much harder n r more busy like the company secretary who prepares the minutes of the meeting. I presume this is why (even why they wanted him out) they bought him a house. If u decide to let them visit u, be careful with your answers. U take control.... don't let them. Play their game to your advantage. I’m from Brooklyn New York I was going to Bethel almost once a week growing up. Even got to stay in Bossert before they sold it. I left right before the “mass exodus to Walkill and Patterson” but I remember seeing a third of my old congregation downsize because of the Bethelites leaving. Eventually my congregation dissolved for multiple reasons but that was one of them

Or if they had niche skills that would be deemed more valuable they were sent to Walkill. The the other half were sent home which was rough because now that I look back at it many of those brothers and sisters didn’t have marketable skills they could transfer over into the workforce. As I put things into perspective the organization really threw them to the wolves because can you even fathom being in your 40s and 50s having no degree or legitimate experience outside of Bethel, that’s borderline cruel tbh…☹️

You left out some important information. Watchtower bought a house for Tony and his wife to live in, but the house belongs to Watchtower, not them. When they move out or die the house goes back to WT. It’s not even a house, it’s a townhouse. A two bedroom townhouse is not exactly a big deal. For a GB member getting kicked to the curb, this is small potatoes.

I served on the operating committee in Northwest Indiana and we had two out of five congregation leave so we split the operating funds in fifths. A new congregation joined us after the two left and the operating committee asked the new congregation to contribute a lump sum into the operating fund. The brother from the new congregation which by the way had been saving for a new hall for ten years but were unable to find property said that they had no money to contribute to the operating fund. I asked didn’t you have a building fund what about that? His answer, they were instructed to send all their building fund proceeds to the society! I believe their building fund was well over one hundred thousand dollars! The name of this congregation was the East Chicago congregation of Indiana. I put the name in this comment to substantiate the facts. This community is a middle to low income city we’re most live pay check to pay check so you can imagine the sacrifice the members put forth to contribute to the building fund only to have it taken by Watch Tower!
One of my friends was an elder at bethel for decades…someone outed him as gay and they expelled him after he was disfellowshipped. He not only had nothing but his clothes but his family upheld the disfellowshipping. He had nothing.

The NDA point kinda makes sense, but why is WT deleting Tony's videos from the website? Removing these videos makes it seem like something nefarious went down, and they're trying to send Tony down the memory hole. Also, as noted on the legal paperwork shown in this video, the house was given to Tony and his wife as a "life estate subject to an executory limitation." Unfortunately, I don't speak legalese. Does this mean that ownership of the home reverts back to WT when both Tony and his wife are dead or if Tony or his wife do/say something against WT?

As someone who grew up Winston Salem and now living in Wilmington, Lumberton is extremely dangerous. Surprised they placed him there. Probably because nobody would ever look for him there lol
Maybe they're hoping that, if Lumberton is that dangerous, something befalls poor Tony and he takes all the secrets to an early grave? Only by accident of course. I mean, if you think about it, there are two ways to address someone who knows where the bodies are buried. One is taking care of them for life, which can be expensive. The other is to dispose of them somehow. So this might be a way for the Borg to get rid of him without having blood on their hands. They might not be killing him. But by putting him in a dangerous area, they're making an early and violent death more likely. This is a really cynical and highly speculative way to think about it. Years ago my mother lent them money for a Kingdom Hall here in Ontario Canada , when she died she left them also a good sum of money . Sadly my sister in law and her husband also a JW made sure the will was never seen , They did agood job of convincing her that me and my brother were the bad guys . To this day I still say it was fixed , even though I went to the head one at Kingdom hall he backed them up . A total shock and lies they got away with it . Seems like so much cover up among all the members .
That they bought him a house is not quite accurate. They bought themselves a house, and are allowing Tony to live in it rent-free, until he either dies or moves. And 250K is not a whole lot for a house these days. But the WT should not have kept that deposit money. That was just flat wrong.

Hey JT & Lady Cee! Hope you guys are well. So, I'm an HR Group Manager and have worked in Human Resources for some 34 years now. Keeping in mind that Watch Tower is a business in the guise of a religion, this is typical and to be honest, totally expected. It's like in HR, whenever an HR person becomes burnt out, disgruntled or is in a place where their job may be eliminated (not however, in the case of one who simply decides to leave for another job), you ALWAYS make sure that the individual is WELL taken care of (wink, wink) when they leave. Why? It's really quite logical and simple. It's because they know where all the bodies are buried!! LOL!!!

Building material cost money. Permits cost money. Nothing is ever free despite free labor and land. How Watchtower screwed you in the 💩 🕳️ without lub or warning is that you perpetually have to pay off the loans. So after it is paid off you still got to pay. That is very interesting.

in the 80's in Australia we had a different experience. The local congregation saved up over some years and bought a sizable piece of land. The cong then had to save to a goal in order to get a loan from the society to do a "kwik-build" As I recall the total material cost was about $200 K . So the build cost itself was shared between the cong and the society loan which was repaid over the coming years. BTW the kwik build itself was an awesome experience over 3 days. A lot of preparation before hand including the concrete foundations.
I was thinking something similar. Watchtower spent or contributed over $200,000 for Morris’ home. Other Bethelites that left just got their things packed into the car and told to leave; nothing else.

Here I was struggling and down to my last $50 and worrying about my family being evicted and being criticized because I worked 2 jobs and “slacking” pioneer hours when these guys wear suits and jewelry that would’ve paid my grocery and rent for months. A congregation in wokingham uk was an old house that was donated by an elderly publisher and turned into a kingdom hall, no parking. It was very small. Because it was an expensive area the publishers were encouraged over a number of years to donate to improve the hall and widen it and a complete refurb rather than a new hall. The publishers abliged and donated thousands and one publisher left money in their will.
Eventually a build was done. Hundreds worked on it. Within a year of its build, it was sold during a culling of kingdom halls in the area. Where do you think the money went?

Some r realkyvaffected leaving n need therapy to reprogram their brains. Soooo sad. I was fine, just moved on, taking it all as learning experience in life.
But nobody that is notva jw or ex jw can understand them. U have to live it n have experienced it.

So why did they buy a house next to Top Shelf Tony? Is someone going to live there to keep an eye on Tony? It's a critical time for watchtower. Tony just getting his walking papers. He is probably angry. He may think that he will spill the beans on the organization. I’m from Brooklyn New York I was going to Bethel almost once a week growing up. Even got to stay in Bossert before they sold it. I left right before the “mass exodus to Walkill and Patterson” but I remember seeing a third of my old congregation downsize because of the Bethelites leaving. Eventually my congregation dissolved for multiple reasons but that was one of them

Or if they had niche skills that would be deemed more valuable they were sent to Walkill. The the other half were sent home which was rough because now that I look back at it many of those brothers and sisters didn’t have marketable skills they could transfer over into the workforce. As I put things into perspective the organization really threw them to the wolves because can you even fathom being in your 40s and 50s having no degree or legitimate experience outside of Bethel, that’s borderline cruel tbh…☹️

You left out some important information. Watchtower bought a house for Tony and his wife to live in, but the house belongs to Watchtower, not them. When they move out or die the house goes back to WT. It’s not even a house, it’s a townhouse. A two bedroom townhouse is not exactly a big deal. For a GB member getting kicked to the curb, this is small potatoes.
What's the difference if he can stay there to he dies? Plus they always say we all brothers and all equal in org. So why didn't rest of layoff bethelits get same treatment? No body does hypocrisy like watchtower 🙂

I served on the operating committee in Northwest Indiana and we had two out of five congregation leave so we split the operating funds in fifths. A new congregation joined us after the two left and the operating committee asked the new congregation to contribute a lump sum into the operating fund. The brother from the new congregation which by the way had been saving for a new hall for ten years but were unable to find property said that they had no money to contribute to the operating fund. I asked didn’t you have a building fund what about that? His answer, they were instructed to send all their building fund proceeds to the society! I believe their building fund was well over one hundred thousand dollars! The name of this congregation was the East Chicago congregation of Indiana. I put the name in this comment to substantiate the facts. This community is a middle to low income city we’re most live pay check to pay check so you can imagine the sacrifice the members put forth to contribute to the building fund only to have it taken by Watch Tower!

One of my friends was an elder at bethel for decades…someone outed him as gay and they expelled him after he was disfellowshipped. He not only had nothing but his clothes but his family upheld the disfellowshipping. He had nothing.

The NDA point kinda makes sense, but why is WT deleting Tony's videos from the website? Removing these videos makes it seem like something nefarious went down, and they're trying to send Tony down the memory hole. Also, as noted on the legal paperwork shown in this video, the house was given to Tony and his wife as a "life estate subject to an executory limitation." Unfortunately, I don't speak legalese. Does this mean that ownership of the home reverts back to WT when both Tony and his wife are dead or if Tony or his wife do/say something against WT?

She must have little holes in her life that the Org fills - the need for community, wanting to see dead loved ones again, the need to 'make a difference'. Encourage her to express why the Org means so much to her, then you will know what angle to concentrate on. Though, you may have to accept that she needs it for now. I mean, if you think about it, there are two ways to address someone who knows where the bodies are buried. One is taking care of them for life, which can be expensive. The other is to dispose of them somehow. So this might be a way for the Borg to get rid of him without having blood on their hands. They might not be killing him. But by putting him in a dangerous area, they're making an early and violent death more likely.
This is a really cynical and highly speculative way to think about it. To be completely honest, it would be a disturbingly Mafialike tactic for the Borg to do. But by putting him there, the Borg is being either extremely dumb, or it knows what it's doing.

Years ago my mother lent them money for a Kingdom Hall here in Ontario Canada , when she died she left them also a good sum of money . Sadly my sister in law and her husband also a JW made sure the will was never seen , They did agood job of convincing her that me and my brother were the bad guys . To this day I still say it was fixed , even though I went to the head one at Kingdom hall he backed them up . A total shock and lies they got away with it . Seems like so much cover up among all the members .
That they bought him a house is not quite accurate. They bought themselves a house, and are allowing Tony to live in it rent-free, until he either dies or moves. And 250K is not a whole lot for a house these days. But the WT should not have kept that deposit money. That was just flat wrong.
